I had the opportunity to read the 2nd book immediately after the first one and I couldn't pass it up. The first book was so fun to read, this book is just as fun to read. The relationships are developing nicely, my favorite character is still the tri-paw chihuahua Telescope. The mystery is well-written and plotted. I look forward to reading more this series in the future.

I voluntarily agreed to read a copy of this book supplied by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way have been influenced.

This type of book is usually right up my alley but unfortunately I couldn't get in to the writing style and did not finish the book. It seemed as if written by a novice and needed some work with flow.

I love fun cozy mysteries and 'Bark Up and Smell the Coffee' By Stella St. Clair is just that. If you like dogs, this book is about a dog trainer. Willow Wells gets hired to train a dog for a dog agility competition. The dog owner is a suspect in the murder of an owner of a nearby Bed and Breakfast business. Willow and her sister set out to solve the crime. 'Bark Up and Smell the Coffee' is a fun book with some whodunit, romance and humor. I liked this quick read because it left me guessing right to the end. I did not want to put this book down. This book was given to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Bark Up and Smell the Coffee by Stella St. Claire is the 2nd book in the Paws Fur Play Mystery series. I really enjoyed the Happy Tails Dog Walking Mysteries series by this author, so was excited to read this book/series, and was not disappointed. Willow Wells recently divorced, where she lost everything, moves to her aunt's property that she inherited. Willow is a dog trainer, and her aunts property has a dog gym which she is renovating. After completing the first phase, she is ready to win a dog show, earn money, and a positive reputation. When her client is accused of murder, she sets out to solve the case. I really enjoyed this book, and can't wait for the next one. If you like cozy mysteries and dogs, give this book a try.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Willow Wells is a dog trainer who has returned to the small town she grew up in after her divorce. She is building up a dog training business after her ex-husband took her thriving one she had before. She is trying to convince Terry Gib the owner of an Irish Setter named Lady Valkyrie to enter her in the Field Club Championship to which Willow would be the trainer. But before things can get going, Kaitlin Janes dies while taking her dog for a walk. At first they thought it might be a heart attack, but she was killed by rat poison. Kaitlin also ran the Bed and Breakfast that was pet friendly. She had rave reviews on her B&B, but there was something that wasn't so great about her and her personal space. She also had a bad history with Terry. Can Willow prove that Terry isn't the killer? Then there is Willow and her own personal life. Is she ready to start dating again? There is a contractor that has been working on her house and business that keeps laying out hints of how he would like to date her. What will Willow do? You will need to read the book to find out. I would like to thank Net Galley for a copy of this book for me to review.

Second in a series - I hope. Good fun cosy mystery set around a dog trainer. A small town with its second murder, both affecting the owner, a divorcee whose personal life is not nearly as well run as her training centre.

I enjoyed it immensly

I love the cover of the books in this series and I really like this series.
It's fun to read, lovely characters, both human and canine, and the plots're alway fun to read and entertaining.
This one was no exception: i like to read the new events in Willow life and the plot was sound and engaging.
Just small notes: the last past seemed a bit rushed and the sister was sometime a bit overwhelming.
A very good read that I recommend!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC

Exactly as advertised, this is a COZY mystery with a canine theme. The doggie things are not overdone, and it's well written and an enjoyable read.
