Well, that was a very quick read.! I read this in a few hours this afternoon. I have really enjoyed previous books by Alex Sinclair so requesting this was a no brainer for me. But I have to say that was a bit disappointed this time round. It was a fast story with plenty of twists but it was just missing something for me. The main character of Grace was a bit annoying and parts did seem a bit repetitive.

Grace and John are celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary when John is killed in a hit and run. 6 weeks later Grace is not coping very well with the death of her husband and being a widow. Her best friend is trying her best to help but moving on is tough. There is a lot more to the story but without spoiling the story it is hard to say more.

If you want a quick read and like twisty stories then give it a go. It just wasn't as good as the authors previous books. Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased

the wife is distraught but after 6 weeks she needs to bury her husband but why is she seeing her husband on the streets...is she going mad or is something else going on...

this is written as a now and then storyline...once you get your head around that you get the drift of the storyline better and much of the history comes out in the following chapters

a shocking and bizarre read but i did guess before it all played out how it would turn out...go me...

a light read that will entertain

The blurb sounded so interesting and having read Alex Sinclair's books previously, I started reading this book with excitement.
"It was our five-year anniversary, and I had just witnessed my husband die."

These lines from the prologue gripped me further. I was literally restless, with impatience pulsating through me to know how Grace would manage and what would be her next step.

The book started with a bang but then progressed with a dull whimper. Grace cried for 6 weeks and more, and then too did nothing much in the first half of the book. I liked Alex's attempts in creating an atmosphere where Grace appeared to be delusional, her best friend Jennifer certainly kept telling her that till 90% of the book. (Some best friend!)

I liked the mysterious appearances that occurred in the book, but I think the author tried too hard to make this book more intriguing and in the process failed. I could guess the plot right at the beginning. I was just frustrated at the way the main character did nothing for 70% of the book. I don't like slow burners, but I have gotten used to them now. But things happened in this story only in the last 30% and they were all expected twists!!

I wish the book had something more in it. I wanted my pulse to race, my palms to sweat, and my breaths to gasp. Overall, it was a good read. Started at 10pm, finished at 11 30pm and review done by 12am midnight. On to my next read!!

Great book! I couldn't get enough once I started to read. Every time I thought I knew what was happening I was wrong. The ending was totally unexpected but awesome!!

When I read the synopsis of this book I thought it had all the makings for a great psychological thriller. “Tell Me No Lies” by Alex Sinclair tells the story of Grace from two different perspectives- on her fifth wedding anniversary to John when he is killed by a hit and run driver and six weeks after his death when strange things start happening to her.

I really thought this book had great potential. The story about a grieving widow who thinks she sees her deceased husband, she receives mysterious phone calls, and someone seems to be watching her. Then she finds some information about her husband’s past she wasn’t aware of. Will she be able to figure out what’s going on or is she just crazy like her best friend suspects. Sounds like the perfect thriller, but the problem with this book was that it just didn’t move fast enough or at all at times. When we finally got to the end it just felt rushed and honestly there really wasn’t enough closure or follow up for me.

I was hoping for a psychological thriller that I just couldn’t put down because I needed to know what would happen next, but I didn’t put it down just so I could move onto my next book.

Enjoyed the book. There are some crazy people out there and this book definitely contains one of them. I was hooked from from the moment I started reading until the very end. I honestly wasn't expecting some of those twists.

John and Grace are celebrating their five year wedding anniversary, when John is killed right in front of Grace. Grace has a hard time coping. She feels guilty and blames herself. Grace has the support of her best friend Jennifer, until Grace starts getting strange emails and keeps thinking she is seeing her dead husband. Jennifer is convinced Grace is hallucinating and needs major psychiatric help. Then there is the insurance policy John had, which Grace had no clue about. Grace is shocked when she finally finds out the truth. I enjoyed how she handled it and got the mess cleaned up.

I enjoyed the story, writing style and characters. The book alternates between the present and the time leading up to the accident. Grace learned so much information on her anniversary leading up to the dinner and never confronted John with any of it. He lied to her about the whole day. There should have been so many red flashing lights and alarms going off but nothing. I really didn't understand that part. I felt more details could have been given about Grace's relationship with Layton, since he was one of the reasons for what happened. I had so many suspicions about Jennifer. I was convinced she was behind everything. She kept pushing Grace so see the psychiatrist and was convinced Grace was making everything up. The book over all was a good thriller and kept me in the dark. The ending was a little iffy for me. The reasons behind everything seemed a little crazy. I'm thinking that lawyer may have been in on it. I did love how Grace handled everything at the end.

Definitely recommend the book and look forward to reading more by the author.

Grace Dalton watched her husband die after being struck in a hit and run accident. After a brief period of submerging herself in the grief, she begins to move on, speaking with his lawyer to learn of a secret bank account and life insurance. Then she sees her husband, sending her best friend into conniptions for some reason, and she ends up in several bizarre emergency sessions with her psychiatrist. Much of this story, once you get past the repetition (and the repetition continues throughout the book), lacks credibility, such as Grace’s phone sessions with her psychiatrist, and then her best friend dragging her to so many emergency sessions instead of listening to Grace. Her best friend comes across as more like a mean sister, making the ending even less likely. This story had such potential, and then Grace ended up being more crotchety than the damsel in distress. The reader does not need reminding in every chapter that Grace wallowed in her grief for six weeks. The story is in there if you want to earn it! I was graciously given an early copy by Bookouture through NetGalley.

Very captivating and easy to read. The characters were likable and the story line kept me interested until the surprising end.

This is my first read by Alex Sinclair and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought that some of the story was pretty repetitive, but it also kept my attention because I wanted to know the outcome of the story so bad. I would ask you to give this one a chance for yourself. I was not disappointed.

This story is about a couple, John and Grace Dalton. John is in medical school and Grace is a nurse. They work in the same hospital but in different departments. With John still being in school, he is always studying and spends lots of time in his office. John and Grace are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary and go out to eat one night. This is where everything changes for Grace. John is struck by an oncoming truck and killed.

What takes place next in the story is a lot of revelation for Grace. She just thought she knew the man she was married to. When Grace starts to unravel lie after lie from John and his past, things for Grace begin to change. At first she thinks that she is just so stressed by all that has happened in the past weeks that she is imagining things and hallucinating, but is that the real truth?

I honestly did not see the ending coming to this story. I had a whole other thought in my mind as to how it was all going to end. The story may take a little lull, but keep with it because you will be glad to know how this ends, believe me!

I am anxious to read other books by Alex Sinclair now that I have read this one. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the copy of this book! All opinions are my own though!

Soooo Grace and Alex are on their 5th wedding anniversary night out when John is killed in a hit and run......the book then goes from the present back to the day of the hit and run and it becomes clear all was not as seemed with Grace and John....Grace then ‘sees’ John but is told its hallucinations...you get the idea??...
Of course there is more to the story than first meets the eye and it does take a fair bit of repetition to get there, when a part of the mystery is revealed it is then easy to work out what is coming and so the shocks aren’t shocks as you already know!!
I wasn’t particularly enamoured with Grace or John or any of the other ‘cast’
A non taxing psychological thriller that had enough about it to keep me reading and was a quick, easy read

I feel so bad for DNF'ing this one. The premise sounded so promising but it just didn't deliver for me.
While the start was gripping, I found myself easily predicting where things were going to go. It wasn't holding my attention so I decided to DNF it unfortunately.

I'd be willing to give this author another go though!

I wanted to love this book but unfortunately I did not. My biggest problem was the excessive repetition and by the 60% mark nothing was happening. It moved at a snail’s pace and failed to deliver everything I look for in a good thriller.

I love books where someone has "a whole other life" going on. Then they die. And everything is exposed. Yes, this book had it all. All in all this book had me turning pages as fast as I could to find out the truth, but also to just finish it honestly.
The author did a good job at creating the characters.

I am between a 3 - 3.5 stars. Reason for this was some parts just felt drawn out and repetitive as far as Grace being driven over the edge feeling crazy. I also expected a MUCH bigger, pull out all the stops kind of ending but it just seemed to fall flat for me.

This is a good psychological suspense novel. It is written with flashbacks to the night of the accident. I kept trying to figure out what was going on. I did have my suspicion, I was wrong. This book will definitely keep you guessing. Thank you to net galley for an advanced copy.

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed previous books by Alex Sinclair so I was delighted to receive an ARC of this. Although I don’t like giving negative feedback, unfortunately this book was not for me, I just couldn’t get into it and ended up abandoning it which has never happened with one of Sinclair’s books before, although I won’t let this detract from my seeking out his books in the future.

Tell me no lies by Alex Sinclair is a great domestic thriller. Minor set backs but all in all it was an enjoyable read and I’m not disappointed by it! Domestic/mystery/thriller is what the book contains. About a dead husband and a wife who’s left to unravel his darkest secrets!

I just devour books from this author and I was soon gripped in this exciting page turner and it held my interest throughout.

Everything about this author is excellent, the way he writes good easy reads that get you involved in the first few pages which is a must for me. If I don't get into a book straight away then I don't read it.

I will definitely read more from Alex, well done and I look forward to reading your next book.

Read this in a day by the pool whilst on holiday. Whilst it was a “nice” holiday read I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much if I had read this throughout my evenings after work. The plot had promise, but failed to deliver with a completely absurd ending. That been said, I do think it would make a good Friday night film if the script and direction was cleverly done to make it less predictable than the book in terms of the “oh, that’s the twist” moment. Decent enough but a little implausible.

Grace and John Dalton are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary. As they are leaving the restaurant, John steps away to take a phone call. As he is crossing the street he is hit by a truck and killed. Grace witnesses his death, but still can’t believe that he is gone. How could this have happened? After John’s death, Grace is in a fog and has difficulty getting through the days. She would have been completely lost without the help of her closest friend, Jennifer. Grace realizes that she needs therapy when she begins to see strangers on the street that look like John. Is she losing her mind? Little by little she learns other disturbing things about John. Was he having an affair? Why had he taken out an exorbitant life insurance policy, on both of them, months before his death? She needs to find out everything she can about John.
