Love Suzanne Madeiros! Anything written by this author is a sure download/buy for me and I wasn't disappointed. I love the way she writes historical steamy romance, and I smean steamy. If you're looking for a sizzling escape from reality you cannot go wrong with anything by this amazing whirlwind of an author. Great plot, great narrative and just great writing.

Never disappointed in a Suzanna Medeiros book. She comes through with great characters, stories and descriptive history!

This is a lazy afternoon read. It will keep you entertained for a few hours. The characters are fun and well written. The story is good but it's missing a wow factor for me. I look forward to the next one.

This is the third book in Susan Medeiros’ Landing a Lord series. I had not read the previous two books and still followed the story although it took a little while to get into.

Rose has been the toast of the ton as a debutante but falls out of favour when her father is imprisoned for treason and her mother leaves for the country to avoid the scandal. She turns to Lucien, the Earl of Brentford to help prove his innocence. Little does she know that he is actually working for the government and is looking for proof on her father’s guilt.

This is a short and easy read, which filled a few hours, but I was not particularly memorable. I received this ARC from NetGalley for and honest review. Opinions are my own.

The Earl of Branford has a nickname of the unaffected Earl but he is anything but unaffected by Rose Hardwick. Rose had tried to capture the Earl’s interest all season but he pretended not to notice her. The Earl is high up in the home office (i.e. spy). Rose’s Father ends up in trouble and the Earl decides he needs to keep Rose safe. This was the first book I’ve read by Suzanne Medeiros but won’t be the last. There are characters from other books as minor characters. I don’t feel I missed anything by not reading the books prior to this one. I’m looking forward to the Earl’s sister getting her own story. I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Many seek his favor, men and women alike, but few glimpse what lies beneath the Earl of Brantford’s aloof exterior. Rose Hardwick was the most sought-after debutante in London until scandal touched her family and made her a social pariah.
This was a decent story and a quick read. I liked Rose in particular as she fights to free her dad. I recommend.

This book is the third in the Landing A Lord series by Susan Medeiros. I had read the first book in the series, some time ago.

There is a lot of back story in the first two books which has a bearing on the third book, so I would advise reading up beforehand, or being patient about not understanding the whole picture at the beginning of the book.

Rose has been the toast of the ton as a debutante in the previous book, Sheila not treated as a bit of a pariah as her father has been imprisoned after confessing to treason. Her mother has fled to the country to avoid the scandal, but Rose is desperate to free her father, who is being stubborn and not telling her what is actually going on. She turns to Lucien, Earl of Brentford when she meets him at the Tower when she is visiting her father. She doesn’t know he works for the government and is keen to find out how guilty her father is. Her friend urges her to seek Lucien’s help.

Rose has been attracted to Lucien for some time, he is a very reserved and controlled individual, known as the “Unaffected Earl”, in the ton. Rose manages to break though his chilly demeanour, and they work together to uncover the real traitor, and Lucien offers Rose the protection of his name in a marriage on convenience.

Lucien’s natural reserve and role in the mystery keep him from declaring his feelings early on, but they have a strong connection from the first.

They fall in love and unmask the true villain, and Lucien eventually manages to let go of his reserve, for Rose.

A pleasant shortish read, with a nice romance between the Hero and heroine, as Lucien learns to trust Rose.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. Opinions my own.

Book #3 in the series Landing a Lord, The Unaffected Earl can be read without knowledge of the previous books (my case), although I got very curious about the series and I'm planning to catch up with the previous books.

Rose Hardwick goes from a popular Season to be considered a social pariah in few weeks when her father is arrested for treason. She asks for the Earl of Brantford's help to prove her father is not guilty. Brantfort is known as The Unaffected Earl due to his icy way, but goes to Rose's aid.
The story is interesting, still there are times some plots are not well explained - either because it's something that happened on a previous book, or things are solved too fast (the end of the book, for example).

I thoroughly enjoyed Rose and Lucien's story. I would definitely recommend reading the other books in the series it gives you background on their story, but you can read it as a stand alone. A woman out to prove her fathers innocence goes to the one man who can help her, but what will happen when he realizes she's in danger?

This book was well written, but I felt a bit confused as I haven't read the previous books in the series. I liked the plot--Rose needs to prove her father innocent of treason, and gets help from the icy Lucien. I love books where the hero is distant and aloof, but opens up for the heroine, so this was right up my alley. Well written, I am absolutely going to go back and read the others in this series.

This is an engaging and sweet fluffy romance which is a nice quick read. I liked both Rose and the Earl of Brantford, but didn't feel that they had quite as much chemistry as some couples I have read about. Brantford, the Unaffected Earl of the title, is an aloof and unemotional man, so it's nice to watch him fall in love!

The beginning of the book is a little tricky to get into, as it references the plots of the previous two books a lot - I prefer my romance series to be a little more tangential as it's nice to come to them as standalones. However, once I'd worked out what everyone's relationship was to each other, the plot was very pacey and easy to read. I'm intrigued by the first book in the series, as that romance sounds lovely!

I didn't love the plotline of needing to rescue Rose's father from the accusations of treason, purely because it felt very contrived to force the two characters together, but actually didn't have much bearing on the story (it's wrapped up "off-screen" in the epilogue!).. However, I did love that the author was able to do a 'marriage of convenience' plot where the two partners quickly acknowledged their attraction to each other, rather than stewing alone for ages!

Overall, this was a sweet, heartwarming book once it got going, so four stars.

I enjoyed this story. When I requested it from NetGalley I had no idea that this was the third book in a series. However, I did not find this a problem while reading the story, and I only found out after I finished the book. The plot was fast paced and the romance proceeded in a realistic fashion. I would read more books by this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were interesting and the criminal element added to the story.. The only part that was not believable was the fact that the main characters had a tendre for each other but never really spoke.

He is the earl who is distant and seemingly uninterested in all the women trying to get his attention. Everyone is drawn to him but he finally is landed by the one young woman who ignores him. A fun read!

The Unaffected Earl is another great read by Suzanna Medeiros. Rose is a much sought after debutante until her father is accused and jailed for treason. She believes her father is innocent and wants to prove it to the world. But she needs help. Maybe the man who she has been admiring from afar, the Earl of Brantwood, is just the man to help her.
Lucien in turn is entranced by Rose and wants to find out the real story behind her father's treason. Was he framed or was he a willing participant? Only Rose's father knows and he's not talking. Lucien will use Rose to his advantage and may just lose his heart at the same time.
Awesome chemistry between Rose and Lucien. Rose has been dreaming of him for some time and is quite surprised that he is interested in her as well. What starts out as a marriage of protection and convenience has the capability of turning into a real love story for these two.
Highly recommended and I look forward to reading more in the series.

‘The Unaffected Earl’ by Suzanna Medeiros follows Rose Hardwick and Lucien, the Earl of Brantford. Rose’s father has been charged with treason, but Rose is determined to prove his innocence; however, she must convince Lucien, to assist her to prove his innocence. Lucien has admired Rose from afar whilst Rose has always believed that Lucien has had no interest in her whatsoever. With threats made to her life, the only way to protect her is if Lucien marries her.
This was a very engaging read with two very likeable characters. The storyline is detailed without being slowed down by the events leading up to Rose’s father’s imprisonment. However, I did find that the last few chapters were quite rushed and the plot against Rose and her father, too neatly drawn together.
I received an advanced review copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Rose Hardwick is determined to prove her father is innocent of the crime he has confessed to. The Earl of Brantford is just as eager to learn the truth of the matter. When necessity forces these two together, sparks fly.

I did not realize this was the third in a series when I requested it from NetGalley. So, when I began reading, I was very confused and it took several chapters for me to feel caught up on what had happened previously and how matters had gotten to where they stood. Because of this, it took days for me to get through it and I kept getting frustrated.

Rose herself was not a terrible character. I respected her wish to learn the truth about her father. The Earl of Brantford was less easy to like. His cold and distant manner made his moniker "The Unaffected Earl" well deserved. He has secretly been drawn to Rose from the start, and she has had eyes only for him. This made me roll my eyes. His attraction to her is understandable, but her for his was inexplicable.

The plot moves at a well enough pace. There are several instances of sex being described and as this is my first introduction to this author, I did not expect this.

I would only recommend this to readers who want a spicier read.

I received a free copy from netGalley and exchange for an honest review. The unaffected Earl is the continuation of a series called Landing the Lord. This is the first book that I read by both this author and in the series and I'd enjoyed the story between the two characters. It did feel like their relationship was incomplete and I believe that's probably because they discuss more about the plot of the story and the previous books however this book is enjoyable as a stand-alone read. The so-called unaffected Earl is attempting to prove that the woman he likes from a far as father did not commit treason in the process of protecting her he falls for her and has to marry her. I like the relationship it was cute but again it seem to move too fast and that may be due to the fact of their previous books in the series or the length of this novel. Overall and enjoyable couple hours spent reading this book.

I love the character of Rose from previous books. Rose was a dazzling debutante who every guy wanted for a bride. Until scandal stuck her family.

Rose's father pleaded guilty to treason and sent London Tower. Rose was determine to free her father and find out who he was protecting.

Earl of Brantford was in charge of finding out the truth behind the treason. Lucien was known to be a cold fish by London elite. He was determine to protect Rose and find out if her father was guilty of treason.

Working togther to clear her father name, Rose learned about Lucien's past and vow to help him get past it and find love.
