Love the damaged little rich boy that falls for the “wrong” girl stories. Maddy is seriously messed up but so is Kingsley. Together, somehow, they fit. Neither character is living in a stable environment though Maddy obviously has it much worse. There was a good amount of push and pull to get through before they end up together. There is a fair bit of drama. I wasn’t in love with the way it wrapped up (or didn’t). I don’t mind some strings untied but with more minor players... overall, worth the read.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and Xpresso Book Tours for a copy in exchange for a review.

I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

Maddison refuses to be defined by the foster home she lives in, by her foster parents' neglect and drug problems, or by her poverty. She has one goal only, to get into Julliard and make a better life for herself and her siblings. But until then, she sees no other way to put food on the table other than stealing from rich people.

Haunted by a tragic past, Kingsley is not happy despite his wealth and popularity.

Worlds apart, even though they go to the same school, Maddison and Kingsley have nothing in common except for their love for music. So when Kingsley hears Maddison practice her cello, he is immediately hooked.

Stolen Songs goes beyond the usual romance between two people who come from different social backgrounds. It deals with raw emotions of love, loss, and struggling with a heavier burden than one can bear.

The relationship (especially on Kingsley's side) gets too angsty at times, but I feel like that correctly depicted how most eighteen year olds, who fall in love, would act.

I think overall Stolen Songs was a well-written debut for Samantha Armstrong. But there were a few things that didn't work for me. I thought the characters could have used a little more development. I also felt like the plot dragged a little bit and that made me set the book down for a few days with not much desire to pick it up.
I think that Samantha has the ability to be a great writer and the more she writes, the better she will be.

I didn't love this book, but I didn't hate this book, there was so much potential in it, so much untapped, so much tapped.

My favorite thing about the whole book wasn't the plot, or the main characters, it was a secondary character, Tilly. I loved her when I saw her. I hope I see more of her in book 2.

The plot itself wasn't that amazing, I felt like the thief part got lost, the drugs and stuff took too much of the show, and it wasn't much of a great subplot. Some parts I didn't understand, like her relationship with Teddy?Or why he got the punishment he got if it wasn't him in the first place? And how the ending happened despite that punishment. It's hard not to give spoilers without giving my questions.

Please though, don't do short "chapters" there was one with just one word! many with just one or two paragraphs, it drove me bananas and kind of became a pet peeve.

Despite not loving the book, I do want to read the 2nd one. I am hoping I see actual growth with the characters, less drugs and crazy that didn't feel very "hard" it'd like to see something more light and mature.

This is one of those books that you know will be good within the first few pages. It hooked me in and I read it in one sitting. For this being one of the author’s first books, she did an amazing job. I loved how she developed the characters so well that we weren’t told what to feel, like so many authors do today. There is no insta-love; their story happened naturally and I loved it. My only disappointment is that there is not a date for the release of the next book and we are left wondering how their story will end.

4.5STARS!!!
Stolen Songs was such a great read. I devoured this book in one sitting. These characters were real, raw, and dealing with real life problems. I absolutely loved Maddison, Hamish (Kingsley) and Cynthia. My heart also went out to Maddison's foster siblings: Tilly, Phoebe, Jack, Lucy & Molly. I disliked Angela and Darren. I was more than happy to see that Darren finally got when he deserved, but it was a little unbelievable that Angela changed her ways so fast. I liked Kingsley's mom but I loved Nick and how much he cared for Kingsley. This story had a lot of moments that will make your heart feel for these character and it will leave you wanting more of them. My only complaint about this story would be that the ending was a bit rushed and left me a bit unsatisfied. I'm still wondering if that was how Maddison and Kingsley's story ends because I would definitely love to see them have more of a happy ending. However, I'm looking forward to reading more books from this author in the future.

Stolen Songs by Samantha Armstrong is a beautifully told story that had me hooked from the first chapter. Madison and Kingsley are two tragic characters who you will be rooting for till the end. Madison's hard life and her drive to make it better will have you falling in love with her. What a great book and a must read for all.

I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand the story was unique, it had amazing promise. On the other, it took me to long to get used to this author's writing style. Parts were choppy and seemed they could have been expanded and built upon more. I felt like there were pieces missing. It did keep me reading though.

I'm not usually one for NA Romances, but I read the blurb for this book and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. This story was captivating and a real page-turner for me.
Maddison and Kingsley's story had some sensitive topics, so much came into play in this book and I was left guessing till the very end.
The plot was driven by an arrangement of - Drugs, Abuse, Strength, Death, Heartache and most of all Love. Love for each other, love for dreams, love for family and love of music.
Maddison was such a strong heroine to me, she was faced with a lot of responsibility at such a young age, and she just seems to adapt, improvise and survive through it all. Admirable.
Kingsley has a lot of misplaced guilt drowning him. My heart hurt for him but at the same time
it was screaming, for him to let go of his demons.
These two characters just complimented each other well and I can't wait to read what happens next for them.
