I really tried to get into this book. I liked the intro and it caught me but then as soon as the battering and move to a new location took place I lost the impetus to read. I skimmed ahead and read the end but felt this is really more a NA type book in a genre that is military-like but without that extra bit of military so...maybe? Anyway...I don't like first person done this way, didn't cotton to this intro and though others will love it...I don't...and won't give it a bad rating because I know others will enjoy it.. That said, I found out that NOT rating or giving feedback in this section will impact my profile so am now doing so.

Lawson and Indigo partner up to investigate and find answers while the sparks fly . A Delta Squad book that has action and romance.

Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

This has all the elements that I look for in a book. Action, alpha male, suspense, chemistry, emotion and a kick ass female. Just perfect! Can’t wait for more and I would absolutely recommend

Lawson is a former SEAL and now has super secret squirrel clearance with his new team. He strategies and assesses before he acts but Indigo threatens all his well laid plans!

Indigo may not want to date but she doesn't want a partner either! But she and Lawson are working together now so they try to make the best of it. But when the mission begins to unravel, they rely on each other to keep safe. Trust is something neither of them does easily.

Lawson is a great protector. Strong, lethal...and downright stubborn when things don't go his way! Indigo may be similar but both of them together actually work. He doesn't have to worry about her safety every second and she can get under his skin oh so very easily! There wasn't an insta-love between them but a kind of grudging respect which got built upon.

The passion and action are both centre stage and the plot was gripping. Great read!

The idea of going undercover as car thieves to catch the bad guys was an interesting plot. Most of the book was somewhat predictable, but I still enjoyed reading it.

Diana Gardin writes very good romantic suspense. She creates amazing characters, heroes and heroines who are strong and interesting, and adds plenty of intrigue. I really like Lawson. He's such a strong, compassionate man. Indigo is damaged and yet so admirable in her take charge and take no prisoners style. She's a great cop.

I liked that the two don't fight their attraction for a ridiculously long time. They want each other and go for it, though of course neither is thinking long term.

As with Gardin's other books, Lawson is filled with lots of evil criminals and a huge mystery needing solving. This book punched many of my favorites, mainly that I always enjoy a good suspense story peppered with sexy, romantic scenes.

Gardin remains on my "must read" list because all of her books are this good.

Lawson was an ex Navy Seal. His now works at Night eagle Security- NES. Lawson’s speciality on the Delta Squad is research and recon, so his computer is an extension of Lawson’s leg. Bain is an ex marine sniper and is as serious as they come. Lawson knows everyone has their own military story and they had all been through some pooh in their military careers. Everyone gives Bain space when he needs it and his persistent silence tells a story all it’s own. When they’re on a mission, they find it easier to use their code names, names they had all earned because of their own sets of special skills in the field. Jacob waited for them in the conference room where each team gathered in assignment and debriefing meetings. Jacob said a task form had been formed and they had been asked to be part of it. It was a government contract. The FBI had asked them to work with the Wilmington Police Department. With an international car theft ring that’s taken place in the city over the last year. The police alone had not been able to bring down the ring so the Delta Team is being brought in. Jacob is bringing in the whole Delta Team as a whole. But he was sending Lawson in with a detective who’s going undercover within the ring. Russ was the man Indigo owes everything to, he was the only father she had ever known. . Russ said if he didn’t love her like a daughter she would have been fired a long time ago. Russ then added she was valuable . Not just too him but the whole department. But one of these days her rogue attitude and cowboy antics was going to get ehr hurt- or worse. Then he asked her if she understood. Then Russ said she was going undercover again, it will be deep and russ needed to know that she had her head on straight before he puts right in the middle of it. Then Russ added she would have a partner and Indoga replied he knew she didn’t do partners. Then russ told her you work with him or they will find someone else. It had been a long time since Lawson had been in bar, he was beginning to regret not meeting Indigo at the NES office instead of the bar. For was they are going to do Lawson and Indigo needed to get to know each other fast. Lawson felt a shift in things. Thought he had never seen Indigo before he bet that was who was standing in the doorway of the bar. Everything inside Lawson tells him this is one of those moments in life that he should take notice of. One of those times when he realizes things are about to change. Then Indigo got a beer at the bar and came over to Lawson after talking to the barmaid for a minute. They introduce each other and shake hands. Lawson has a jolt of awareness zing through his system. Everything about Indigo speaks to Lawson. Larson doesn’t date he feels he carries ot muck baggage. Indigo questions Lawson and says she doesn’t trust him and she didn’t know what would change that. They had about a week to get their stuff together. Indigo and her boss Russ are at the NES office together. They are in the conference room with the Delta team and Jacob. Indigo notices the weird tension and tingling animosity from her and Lawson’s meeting last night definitely hadn’t dissipated. It had been a long time since Indigo had felt so out of control. She reads the file before her. Edward is suspected to be the leader of the luxury car theft ring that the Bureau hadn’t been able to bring down yet. Maybe because the ring moves. When the authorities start to get close they are in the wind and show up in another city They have been silent nearly one year. Wilmington is the latest city they hit. It was up to Indigo and Lawson while they are undercover to get as much information as they can when and where Edward’s final auction is happening. They need to do whatever it takes to make Edward trust them enough to give them that information. But there is something between Lawson and Indigo.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the plot and the pace a lot. I loved Lawson and Indigo together and how they interact with each other. I loved how protective Lawson was. This book got my interest in the beginning and kept in until the end. I loved the suspense and intrigue. In this book. This kept me at the edge of my chair. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

DNF at 55%.

Maverick loner female cop who comes from the wrong side of the tracks teams up with navy SEAL turned private security operative for an undercover mission posing as high end car thieves to break a smuggling ring.

This book was a bit of a rollercoaster. To start with there was far too much 'telling' and not enough 'showing', character after character is introduced with potted histories - I'm not sure if this is a follow on from a previous series or whether the reader will see how the other relationships started in subsequent books. I was overwhelmed by all the different characters, their nicknames, their family histories, their love lives etc.

So I stopped reading but started up again when I realised release day was fast approaching. Luckily the 'telling' ceased and the plot started developing but then I ran into another problem. This was just cliche-central. Our heroine Indigo Stone is a loner, no family, no friends, covering up her background, mentored by an older cop, refuses to work with a partner, tattoos, heavy make-up, bad attitude. Our hero Lawson Snyder is a former SEAL, haunted by what he's seen and done, by the ones he couldn't save, turned vigilante punishing men who attack women until one night he goes too far and nearly kills someone, drinking too much scotch, never letting anyone close yadda, yadda, yadda. It seemed as though every cliche known to man appeared in this book, and there didn't seem to be enough plot to hang it all together. We already got a glimpse of what I fully expect to be the couple starring in the next book(view spoiler).

Ultimately, at over half way through there was a lot of fist clenching, lower lip biting and general sexual tension but not a lot of plot development and I lost interest in reading further. I've read these characters in many, many other books and unfortunately Siana GArdin didn't bring anything new (to me) to the table.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This was an exciting action packed read that had my pulse racing and my heart warming. Just as exciting as the story itself is the fact that this is just the start of a brand new series. This is Lawson and Indigo's story and it's fantastic. At first these two seem like oil and vinegar but working undercover together as a couple has surprising feelings coming to the surface. Troublesome because everyone knows that emotions can get in the way during dangerous situations. Will these two now at even greater risk??

I highly recommend this one.

This is a great romantic suspense ex military story that will draw you in from the first page and won't let you go until you turn that last page

Lawson Syder (sleuth) ex navy seal and now working for NES (Night Eagle Security) a group of ex special forces soldiers that do the jobs others can't He is recruited to work with a local police department and is placed undercover with Indigo Stone a undercover policewoman. Both are afraid of been hurt and keep their emotions firmly under control after all if you don't love you can't be hurt, but when a pretend relationship starts to develop into a real one than things will hot up between these two damaged souls. With Indigo used to working alone and Lawson as part of a team but not a partner like Indigo there will be plenty of clashes between these two. The alternating POV give the story a great feel and there is enough suspense to keep you enthralled to the very last page

Book one in the Delta Squad series, Lawson is my first read by Diana Gardin and I am so glad I did. Lawson ‘Sleuth’ Snyder a Delta squad member and Indigo Stone an undercover detective, these two have undeniable chemistry and with a fabulous storyline and engaging interaction this held me from beginning to end. I will definitely be reading more by this author

Lawson is my first read by Diana Gardin and what a wonderful story it is! A strong, protective, and passionate former Navy SEAL, Lawson steals the show with his troubled past and giving heart. Indigo has also had her share of woes, but has let love and strong friendships prevent her from becoming closed-off. While neither was looking for romance, their chemistry is undeniable and their passion is off the charts. A well written plot and good support cast add to the story’s enjoyment. A great all round read that will definitely have me reading more from this author.

Indigo Stone works as an undercover cop, she blends in well because she has lived life on the other side. She’s a loner and definitely doesn’t need a partner so is resistant to teaming up with Lawson who’s doing his first gig for Night Eagle Security after leaving the Navy. They have to fake being a couple in love and learn to trust each other. Exciting and interesting. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the first time I have read a book by Diana Gardin and while I am not a fan of her style of writing. I do in fact like that she separated out the chapters so reader who knew the main interested part. The story flowed well but it didn't really stand out and make we want to read the next in the series with so many other Military\securities series out in the book world.

While the author created am interesting story I felt as if I had read this one already many different times with different names.
Thank you to netgalley for the advance copy of Diana Gardin Lawson

I was provided an ARC by the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first read from Diana Gardin and now I have more books to add to my To Read list. This is a new spin-off series from her Rescue Ops series.

I really enjoyed the characters- Lawson and Indigo. Neither are super cuddly when we first meet them but they grow and develop- individually and as a couple. I appreciate that they both fall hard and fast. I was worried that there would be some sort of conflict that would up the drama and cause conflict between the two. Not the case.

I wouldn't say that there was a lot of suspense to this, but there is plenty of ass-kicking action scenes and sexy time. It wraps up nicely as a stand alone book but definitely lays the groundwork for the next story. Can't wait to read the next one!

Fast-paced love undercover romance!

Lawson works for a private security firm that has just been teamed up with the local police department to take down a major crime operation. His partner for this mission is the fiercely independent Indigo, a beautiful force of nature with sky-high walls. Indigo's connections and Lawson's skills are perfectly matched in this heist drama. As they infiltrate the criminal enterprise, their cover requires a pretend relationship that soon feels all too real.

Lawson doesn't even bother trying to draw the line between real and pretend - he just relies on his gut instincts to protect Indigo regardless. Indigo doesn't know to do with these new feelings she's developed, but she knows she shouldn't want to depend on Lawson as much as she does. Theirs is a slow-burn romance set against the violence of their mission and it's a heart-pounding ride to a beautiful conclusion.

The entire staff of NES shines in this book, but Lawson really stands out as the growly alpha book boyfriend. Indigo was a wonderful female lead, all sharp edges herself, and it was heartwarming to see her trust in Lawson grow enough that she could open up to him.

The twist at the end came out of nowhere, but was perfectly done. I loved the epilogue, a nice way to wrap things up with hopeful peeks into the future. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Lawson and Indigo will be one of your favorite couples from this year. Lawson a trained, former-seal, turned FBI-esque level security does everything a certain way. He's calculated, and assessing--but nothing could have prepared him for Indigo.

Neither of them is looking to date--not looking to drag anyone into their troubled, complicated lives. But a mission helps them discover, they both want to be loved.

Lawson's character really appealed to my tastes. He was strong and hard-headed. He was aggressively passionate but tender-hearted. He was also fiercely protective--which I'm totally into!

I admired his ability to overcome his past. I appreciated that though he was closed off to relationships his heart wasn't. Indigo was pretty much the same.

She also was hardened by life but I liked the fact that she persevered. I admired that she allowed love and friendship to soften her heart. There was no unnecessary drama--and stupid arguments between the two.

I just loved these two and how quickly they came together without being insta-lovey.

A great solid read with sexy passionate moments. I mean the sex between these two--fan they self beforehand and after. Better yet grab a glass of water.

A nice addition to my slowly building repertoire of black romance. I might actually come back to this one when I'm in the mood.

Lawson and Indigo two complex characters with something to prove. This is my first Eagle Night Securities book but won't be my last. Thrilling, read with great interactions.

I really enjoyed this book. It centers around Lawson, who was a Seal and now works for a security company and Indigo, an undercover cop. They are paired together to infiltrate a high end car stealing ring. They must appear to be a couple and both of them find this difficult.

There was enough action and romance to keep me interested.

This is my first book by this author but I believe it is a series so I intend to go back and read any previous books.

I do recommend this to anyone who likes kick ass women and strong men.
