I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

Just when Eden had lost it all she was able to realize life had so much to offer. Leaving her small town behind to gain fame she found everything she was looking for and the happiness that had always seemed out of her reach.

When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

This just wasn't a story for me. It was impossible for me to get into the story, and I wasn't really a fan of either main character. First up is Eden's voice, or lack there of I suppose. I've heard of kids refusing to talk when something traumatic happens, but an adult falling down the stairs and losing her voice? Maybe I missed something, but it doesn't make sense to me. The first person she runs into is her ex Shane. He knows that he should tell her that he's pretty much taking away the main thing she came back to town for, but he doesn't. It really didn't get any better (for me) through what I made myself try to read. I finally gave up. Although I didn't like this one, I would give this author another read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

After about 20% of reading this story, I gave up. It just wasn't keeping my attention. Maybe it was my mood, but I tried a second time and just didn't like the characters.

This is one of my favorite series. Who doesn't love firefighter cowboys from Wildcat Bluff, Texas?? They are always full of new adventures!

What if your true love is exactly where you expect to find it? Eden Rafferty left her hometown for the klieg lights of Los Angeles. But when she lost it all – big time career, high profile marriage and just everything she owns, she went home to Texas.

Eden was home to lick her wounds, but the townspeople of Wildcat Bluff won’t allow her because to them, Eden was their hero – the girl who went for her dreams and got it.

And there is also Shane Taggart, Eden’s first love and first romance who would not allow her to think less of herself. There is one problem though – their past was coming to haunt them, and it was on the way to their happily ever after.

A quick read with lots of fun moments and drama, “Hot for a Cowboy” is meant for light reading which means you have to read it while indulging with a glass of wine or just laying by the pool, or better yet, spending a lazy afternoon in your veranda.

Sweet moments and sweet characters dominate this Rated T for Teens books due to thematic violence and brief sexual content.

Hot for a Cowboy is the fourth book in Kim Redford's Smokin' Hot Cowboys series. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and wasn't at all happy with books #2 and #3, but I thought I'd give this installment a try in hopes that the author would have recaptured the things I liked so much in Book #1. I'm sad to say, it didn't happen, and although I tried several times over the past week to read this novel to the end, I simply couldn't, and I can only give it a 2-star rating for several reasons.

First, I didn't particularly either the hero or the heroine, nor did I like the set-up to this story. The heroine finds her husband in bed with another woman, falls down a flight of stairs and loses her voice? Broken bones and bruises I can understand, but losing her voice because she's so traumatized over her cheating spouse stretched my willing suspension of disbelief to the breaking point. They live in Los Angeles, where practically every other person you meet is divorced already, or cheating and about to be divorced. And exactly why did she lose everything she owned and every penny she earned as a radio show host when California is a community property state?

When she goes back to her home state of Texas, the first person she bumps into is her own ex-lover. A little too coincidental for this reader. She wants everything to be the way she left it years ago, but that's not how life works. The tall, handsome, hunk of a hero who shows up just in time to lift her VW out of its parking spot between two huge vehicles was right out of Superman, assuming that when she parked it, she didn't leave it in neutral.

Of course, she wants to revamp the old hometown radio station, and hopefully get her full radio voice back in shape, but the hero now owns the land on which the radio station and its transmitter stand, and he also wants the spring water there for his cattle, and she doesn't want him to take it. I'm sorry, but this story couldn't have been less romantic or more predictable if it tried.

Although I voluntarily requested an advance reader copy of this novel to give this author one more try (the third try), for me this novel was strike 3 for this author. While others seems to have apparently enjoyed it, I'm not one of them, and I cannot recommend this title.

I have always enjoyed returning to Wildcat Bluff and HOT FOR A COWBOY was no exception. This time we’ll watch one woman who has lost everything and returned home in imagined disgrace, and the one man who still sees her as his special lady find a second chance at love… if they can get beyond the past.

Almost a decade ago, Eden left Wildcat Bluff for California where she had a successful career, married, and seemed to be living her dream… until her slimeball jerk of a now ex-husband cheated, ruined her career and took anything of monetary value along with her confidence and self-esteem. She’s returned home to the one thing she can still count on as hers alone with plans to start over and rebuild what was stolen from her. She never planned to fall in love or give any man control of any part of her life – right up until her knight in cowboy boots turns out to be the man she left behind, the man who meant so much at one time but she was unable to give up her dreams for.

Shane never expected to see Eden again. Last he’d heard she had her successful career and never looked back. Life changes and seeing her again has brought back those feelings that he’s ignored for a decade. They might have a chance, but first, they have to deal with suspicious fires dangerously close to their ranches and Eden’s determination to never trust again.

HOT FOR A COWBOY is a good, solid cowboy/firefighter second chance romance. There’s suspense, a firebug to find, familiar faces, secrets, and simply a good love story rekindled once again. I enjoyed going back to this world and would not hesitate to recommend this story or the entire series to any reader who enjoys a good love story, likable characters, and interesting events.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This was a difficult book for me to read and review. I even put it aside and tried to come back to it to see if the story would capture my attention. Unfortunately, that didn't help. The heroine I found hard to like. The hero was somewhat better. I finished it, but it was one of those that took forever. It may be just a story that was not my cup of tea. I would definitely read another book by this author to see if it was just this particular book.

A thrilling, sexy, fun and engaging adventure filled with lots of passion. Highly entertaining second chance romance that was both emotionally thrilling and sweetly heartwarming. Hooked from beginning to end and loved every exciting moment.

Hot for a Cowboy by Kim Redford is a interesting second chance romance novel. Shane and Eden have been friends since they were little kids growing up together. Eden leaves Texas to go to California. A few years later, she comes back to Texas after things fall apart in California. She has lost her radio show, her marriage, and her voice. She comes back home to Texas to heal her voice and heart. Shane is a sexy, cowboy firefighter and has been in love with Eden for his whole life. He must tread easy and gently welcome her back. There are lots of twists and turns with this story but in the end, they get their happily ever after.

This story moved at a slow pace for awhile and then picked up at a good pace. There was too much going on with all the extra issues in the story from the nasty neighbor, the ailing radio station, the volunteer fire dept issues, the water issues, and the stalking ex-husband. It was a bit hard to follow at times with all the twists in the story. Overall, I did like the story, and all the colorful characters in the town.

Sizzling Hot, Filled with Romance and Community what's not to like about this book? Eden Rafferty came back home to Texas to lick her wounds from everything that fell apart in LA. The first person she runs into and comes to her rescue her first love Shane Taggert. There is a point when you realize that sometimes first loves never die.

3.25⭐
This was a strange story for me. As I liked the idea of it, the setting and the wide range of characters, particularly some of the more memorable and quirky ones. But, I felt like I was missing something and I don't know whether that was because this is book four in a series I've not read before. Or it's simply because of the way this story was written, and although I found it easy enough to get into and stay engaged. I did feel like everything between the main characters Eden and Shame happened at warp speed and so I felt like never had the chance to vet to know them properly.

But saying that this story was sweet, easy to read and fairly angst free. And I'm sure fans of the series will enjoy this latest addition. Plus, as a new author to me, I would certainly check out more from Kim Redford and I'd go back and read this series from the start at some point in the future.

Eden Rafferty has just returned to Wildcat Bluff in a sorry state. Her career in Los Angeles is lost thanks to her lowdown, snake-in-the-grass, lying, cheating ex-husband and on top of destroying her career the slimeball has taken almost everything she owned in the divorce. Ranch radio station KWCD in the Wildcat Den which was left to her by her Uncle Clem is all she has left. It's where she got her start in broadcasting with DJ Wildcat Jack. Now it's where she intends to start over.

One day after returning back to her roots Eden is in town to pick up a few things. After leaving Easy In and Out she returns to her car in the convenience store's parking lot to find her ancient Volkswagon Beetle, named Betty by her Uncle Clem for Betty Grable, World War II pinup girl, hemmed in by a six-wheeled dually and a jacked-up pickup. She has no time for this as she has to get back to Wildcat Jack and the radio station. Fortunately a cowboy sees her predicament and steps up to help by lifting Betty and moving the car enough so Eden can get in. When Eden sees who her knight-in-shining-armor rescuer is she is struck by a passionate memory. The cowboy rescuer is none other than Shane Taggart, the cowboy who was her "first" back on prom night just before she left town to pursue her broadcast career. Both Eden and Shane feel that same chemistry at this unexpected reunion. Where do they go from here?

Hot for a Cowboy by Kim Redford is the fouth book in the author's Smokin' Hot Cowboy series. This book's storyline is a very interesting one with some surprises. The chemistry between the two main characters was fun to witness. Their struggles for a HEA is a test of true feelings and overcoming some loss of self-confidence on Eden's part. The firefighter cowboys and cowgirls of Wildcat Bluff are a truely dedicated and romantic bunch.

I enjoy reading second chance romance books and I’m always looking for new authors. I find that NetGalley is the perfect place to try out new books by new authors- but you can’t always know how good the book is going to be since you are one of the first reviewers.

I normally love the books I request, but this one I didn’t “love” as much as I thought I would. It was an ok story that took a lot of twists and turns but never seemed to end.
