This book gave me an insight into the growth of a character. You have Annie who is unloved by her mother and grows up with such negativity that she yearns for unconditional love and the ability to break away from everything that weighs her down.
It's an account of a woman's struggles through various stages of her life and the pace varies from the beginning where it is too slow, to the end where it concludes on a high. I enjoyed reading this book because a part of me always believes that no matter how bad things get, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. If that's not how you feel, then this would not be your ideal read, but even so, it's worth a try.
Thank you Netgalley for the eARC.

The main character of the book, Annie, tells us the story of her love life, from the teen years to adulthood, with all of the ups and downs and the thrills and stumbles along the way, including steamy romance. Sarah Kleck's writing has the reader feeling the deep emotions on every page. The characters feel real, with human flaws, which makes everything that much more touching. It's a quick read.
