I received a free copy of DECEASED AND DESIST (Book 3 of the Tallie Graver Mysteries) in exchange for an honest review. Tallie Graver has a house-cleaning business and works part-time for her father’s funeral home. Tallie has a bad habit of finding bodies and getting involved in solving the murders; everyone in town makes sure she knows of their disapproval and takes the time to suggest alternative hobbies. When she finds a body with the head twisted around the wrong way, she calls the police. Her usual nemesis, the police chief, is on leave for injuries sustained on the job; his temporary replacement is extremely hostile and threatening. Then, the new nemesis forces Tallie into investigating when he insists the death was natural causes. When Tallie begins to look at possible motives, she finds out the deceased was a very bad man, and it would be easier to figure out who didn’t have a motive to kill him. Who did the deed, and why is the temporary police chief so insistent on refusing to investigate the death?

If you’re a fan of the Tallie Graver series, you’ll probably enjoy this book. I haven’t read either of the prior novels, which may have caused me to lack sympathy for the characters. So, I’d suggest beginning at the series beginning if you’re interested in giving this book a try.

Tallie Graver is tired of dead bodies. Whether they are being buried by her families funeral home, or Tallie has found one, she is just tired of dead bodies.
With the launch of her new cleaning business, Tallie is doing what she loves best, cleaning the windows for the grand re-opening of the local b & b. As she wipes the window to finish off, she spots someone through the window, and is sure he is dead. Why is someone in the b & b in the first place?
How did they get in without the owner knowing? Surely this is some kind of mistake. As Tallie asks questions, local law enforcement becomes agitated, leaving Tallie to turn to her friends for help.

I really enjoy this series. Tallie is a fun character and I have enjoyed getting to know her.

I am looking forward to reading more in this series.
I volunteered to read and review an ARC of this book offered by the publisher and NetGalley.

Deceased and Desist by Misty Simon is the third book in this series but the first I have read.
A quick and fun read loved Tallie best friend Gina and all the family. Tallie is trying to resist in joining the family business Gravers funeral home as she has started her own business in cleaning and is enjoying it. As she is cleaning windows at a bed and breakfast guest home she notice a body through the window and the mystery begins . A lot of twists and suprises a long the way .
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher Kensington books for letting me review this book .

Deceased and Desist is the third book in the Tallie Graver cozy mystery series. It follows Tallie Graver as she and her friend look for clues to solve a murder! I love this series. Every time a new book is released I do a little happy dance. Each book gets better and better and I feel more involved in the story than ever! If you are a fan of cozy mysteries and enjoy female sleuths that quickly become "friends" of yours then this is a must read book and series!

Misty Simon is a great author. She brings us the third installment in this series and Tallie is divorced and has a cleaning business. Tallie finds a dead body and the mystery begins. A great mystery series to read.

I really enjoy reading about Tallie and love that Gina was able to be Tallie's sidekick in this outing. I missed having Matt in the book more (he was there, just out of town so only phone calls). Well written and fun.

I received an eARC from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review. - If you haven't read this series, you need to start.

I loved it! I don't know if there is anything more to mention other than this was a great start to a new series. I enjoyed the characters, the conversational flow of the writing and the novel story-line. Tallie Graver was a well-to-do housewife who finds herself in the cleaning business after a nasty divorce. She doesn’t let that get her down, however. She maintains her joie de vivre and gets on with life. Unfortunately, she spies a lifeless body through the window of a B&B she is cleaning. Tallie and her good friend Gina decide to get to the bottom of the mystery.

Tallie Graver left behind the rich life when she divorced her ass of a husband. She started her own cleaning business.
I have been reading a lot of thrillers lately and it was a nice change of pace to read a cozy mystery. Tallie is someone who you would want to be friends with, and she has the bad habit of finding dead bodies so you would get to help solve mysteries. Such a enjoyable series!

This was an energising and coy tale of murder in a middle-America town. Simon has a great ear for the language of the everyday, He creates interesting and lovable characters who struggle through the ordinary frustrations of family life, and then find the strength to face up to unwelcome villainy in their town. Entertaining, engrossing and affable, this is a fitting third volume in this series.
