New employee Megan is tapped to accompany her former professor on a trip to Cairo for a conference where they hope to win a contract from the government for a sustainable agriculture project. She's still got a crush on him, and he is also interested, but has to think of his career. So, fighting their attraction is a main theme of this novel. There is also another former student who's set on snaring the contract and the professor who makes life interesting, as do some antiquities smugglers. The setting is wonderful, but I wish more had been shared about the country and the culture. It seems more like a convenient setting rather than adding interest to the story. As far as romance goes, the novel was fine, but it would have been even better if it had more cultural depth added to the story line.
