Not my usual genre but the description pulled me in and got me to thinking.
The story of Maria raising her 2 sons by herself working many 60 hr.weeks after a divorce had a great influence on her sons,Logan and Jared.
Logan started in Jr High and was fantastic in Basketball and Baseball and was quite a star,by his Sophmore yr..
his friends called him Ice,as he was such a cool player.
By the time he reached his Junior yr.in high school,he was running with the wrong crowd and using drugs.
1st.He started with marijuana and gradually went on to harder drugs.He lost all contact with his father didn't look.out for his younger brother,who gradually started using too.
It would take a real wake-up call event for Logan to attempt to turn his life around.
This is the kind of book that teenagers and their parents should read,as it gives a lot of insight as to what to watch out for in your own family and why a child might get involved with wrong crowds and drug use.
I certainly learned a lot about a lot of why our State and many others have cracked down hard on opioid use and the addictive use of common pain killers.
A fast paced book.that will have you laughing at some of the incidents,possibly crying at others and thinking you might be able to relate to Maria and her ex.
