DNF (but may continue at a later time)

I did read a fair amount of this book and was enjoying what I read but then I found myself in a reading e-book slump and then the reading slump of moving. I may read it at a later time. Because I was enjoying it the author’s voice is great but just not feeling it at the moment.

Overall, I liked this book. The religion parts took me by surprise and kinda turned me off to the whole thing but that's really just a personal preference.

The Spiritual Vixen's Guide To An Unapologetic Life by Maureen Muldoon is one of the books people talk about, The main character is determined and fun, and strong and it is good as a self-help.

I didn't know what to make of this book when it first began. Muldoon divulges her life story as a tennager who lost her mother to cancer, a struggling actress, single mother, and then finding love with a new partner and adding three more kids. In between each chapter she provides tools for building up your self confidence. The spiritual parts of the book I skipped, but I appreciated her life story.

3.5 Stars. I really don’t think that I am the audience for this book. I read the blurb and thought this would be a great memoir for me to read since I enjoy others’ divorce stories, It did not resonate with me as I was hoping, and the religious parts are very heavy handed.

The author seems like a really cool person, and I’m glad she is out there doing her thing.

Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free, it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
