I am not usually a fan of paranormal romance, but the blurb of this story intrigued me and I am glad I gave it a chance. Midnight With the Devil was a well-written story full of suspense and hot sex. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. Castle did a great job with the character development, giving the reader characters who were richly layered and interesting to read about. The pace of the story was good and the storyline was well balanced. Nothing in the story was over the top, and I liked the way things ended for Lucian and Diana. I am glad I discovered this author's work and look forward to reading more from her in the future.

I don’t even know where to begin because this book was so good! I expected one thing - the Devil takes an innocent female soul in exchange for the life of a loved one and they fall in love - but it is much more than that. Emma Castle’s take on the devil is different than what I’ve read before and in a good way.

Lucien Star, aka the Devil, Satan, Lucifer, fell from grace many years ago due to his pride. Charged with guarding hell, he needs to find a pure soul to keep the gates of Hell closed. Diana is desperate. Her father is dying and she would do anything to keep him alive - including making a bargain with the devil. The two characters are interesting. Lucien is arrogant, somewhat selfish, and a bit of an alpha male. Diana is kind-hearted, compassionate and a strong character learning what it is like to give herself to Lucien. The two are so different that they make an unlikely pair. I really enjoyed watching how their relationship evolved and talk about those steamy scenes!

I really enjoyed Midnight with the Devil. The ending was phenomenal and I loved the epilogue. The book was entertaining and moved at a good pace. The characters were well developed with both strengths and flaws. I liked the secondary character of Amara and I think I would have liked to seen more of her in the book. This is my first book by Emma Castle and it will not be my last. I received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily leave this review.

“My last remnant of the days before the fall.”- Lucien

Midnight with the Devil by Emma Castle is both thrilling and enticing. A natural love story between the most unexpected lovers. I just couldn’t put this book down. It’s true that man can be the devil in so many ways yet become the angel that you see in him.

This is a tragic love story of the fallen angel Lucien, who learns to love again. Diana makes a deal with the devil, to save her father from cancer. Her father is saved but her soul is still on the line. As requested she meets the devil every Friday at midnight, but things don’t always go as planned. The connection between the two grows stronger every time they are around each other.

Castle put a unique spin in this romantic thriller. I want to thank Net Galley for giving me the opportunity to read this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review.

Well this book was totally different to what I expected I new it was paranormal but I didn't expect such a wonderful romantic story either

Diana's father is dying and she will do anything to save that includes making a deal with the devil (Lucien) Lucian (Lucifer) needs pure souls to protect the damned and he has his eyes on Diana and he makes a deal with her to save her father's life she will be his for every Friday night for three months he has every hope of converting this good girl into a bad girl, but things don't go quite as planned as Lucien begins to fall for the woman he is tying to corrupt, Will she have a calming effect on the ultimate bad boy and who will end up been good and bad by the end of the story you need to read to see.

As a debut novel this ws outstanding there is so much depth to all the characters it is a book that once you start you can't put it down until that last page is turned

This is the type of book that I always end up reading with trepidation. It's got all the things I like - supernatural beings and the promise of super hot sexy times, which is hard to find in most romance books - as they tend to be G-rated at most and "fade to black" in the bedroom scenes, which I always find a crying shame - if a world is full and rich and makes me want to be in it, then I want the sex scenes to be equal to that.
-anyway, returning from this tangent; the reason that I end up fearfully opening up these books is because an awful lot of them just fail to hit the mark. They are in general, one of the worst hit genres in the recent flood of self publishing, Kindle Unlimited deluges. It seems like everyone feels they have a masterpiece in their heads, and fame and fortune as an established writer is sure to follow if they only get their novel up online in record time.
Sadly, this is one of those books. It suffers many of the flaws of self published authors, but the main, and most pervasive one, is that it reads false. There is no voice within the characters, no authorial tone that guides the story - and in the first few chapters, that is so essential.
The second problem I have with the book is that it, ultimately, is unimaginative. Yes, so she makes a deal with the devil (sex to save her father's life) and yes, he's the devil and can snap his fingers and whisk you to Morocco or whatever, but it's so bland. He's a hot guy that she has sex with. He falls in love with her, and redeems himself. It's boring.
I want monstrous. If you're using the old trope of love as a redeemer, then make everything else around you fresh and exciting. Make him monstrous, difficult to love, ugly, deformed, a true king of hell. Make him the full weight of his sins - and then, if love triumphs, it feels truly earnt.
So, in short, this is not something I enjoyed. It's probably okay for light weight readers that enjoy fluff pieces, but I'll continue looking for the stories that make me want to explode into them with joy as I read.

Thank you to the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review and it is definitely an honour to read this beautifully written story.

Midnight with the Devil, a paranormal romance about a dashing devil and a pure mortal girl who is desperate to save his father from cancer.

Lucien is the King of Hell and his gate from hell needs a pure soul to stay strong, this is when Diana appears. Diana is a girl who has a pure soul, she never has any dark thoughts or desires, she lives happily with her parents and barely complains about her life. Diana only has one wish, her father, Hal, is sick and close to the edge of death because of cancer. One of the nights in the hospital, when Diana was told by the doctor that her father is getting close to the end, Diana feels desperate and so she went to the chapel in the hospital. She prays to God and hopes God can save his father from all the illness and in return, she is willing to do anything in exchange. Lucien heard Diana’s pray and appeared, he offered an exchange deal to Diana. The deal is Diana needs to spend three months of Friday midnight with Lucien in exchange for her father’s full recovery. Since Diana was so desperate to save her father, she said yes to the deal and made sure her other friends and families will be safe. She never knew Lucien has a plan to corrupt her good soul to save the gate in Hell.

Diana knew she should not like any of this, deals with the devil was never a wise choice but if she wants to save her father she has to do this. On the other hand, Lucien knew if he got too attached to a mortal human, he will soon lose his power. But no one can stop when the chemistry explodes between each other. Lucien has fallen for Diana because she is pure and a loving person. He slowly gets to know about Diana, her hobby, her favourite book (which happens to be vampire love story) . . . Lucien came to a point he became willing to make Diana’s dreams come true. Lucien brought Diana to wherever she wished to go, sooner Lucien has opened his heart to Diana. They knew this relationship might not be right but both of them want to at least share some good memories for the rest of their life. Who would guess the devil who was once an angel will be in love with a mortal so deep?

"Dream of me, darling. Dream of midnights past and midnights to come. Dream of heaven in my arms."

The ending is superb, I truly love this story a lot. Emma did a great job with the plot, lots of laughter and tears as I read. I love pineapple now and the story is so romantic at some point I wish I can be Diana too. Highly recommend to everyone, not because the sex scene with Lucien is amazing but because the love story between Diana and Lucien is more magical then I imagine. This is definitely a page-turner, love this book a lot that I need to purchase both versions now. 10/5 stars if I can give, this story ain’t too long not too short either. With a prologue, 17 chapters and an amazing epilogue, the story completed a full circle like a glimpse of halo. All I can say is Bravo!

Oooookay, so Diana accidentally makes a pact with the devil: three months of hot and steamy on a Friday night... Well, that certainly got my attention ;-)
And it is a funny read, with definitely some sexy scenes. However, not the totally-melt-your-panties kind of sexy. But the story is entertaining and a little naughty. Who would have thought that the Devil had a wicked sense of humour? Being bored from keeping all the demons escape from Hell to Earth, Lucien Star tries to entertain himself on earth. And when he hears Diana's totally selfless prayer to save her father's life, he decides to seduce Diana for her pure soul.
But after a few Friday nights, Lucien realizes that Diana is more than a pure soul, but also a funny and wicked woman. So.... the Devil's got the hots for a girl, LOL.
The story enlightens you about the historical tales of how Lucien became the keeper of hell as one of the fallen angels. And Diana brings out the remaining angel-parts in Lucien. So, not only a funny read, but also some unexpected twists and drama. In all a very entertaining read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I have never read a book before by Emma Castle nor have I ventured often into the world of romance but boy, did she welcome me in. Castle did an excellent job creating the story of a young woman who would give anything to save her father and she gave everything to the one person she shouldn't have. The plot was smooth and easily allowed the reader to be swept away in the events. Castle did an excellent job making people care about the characters to the point where even I felt pity for the Devil - something i never though would happen.
Overall, this book will be an easy sell to customers looking for that little bit of spice in their life.

Emma Castle's Lucien Star (Lucifer) doesn't come off as hot or sinful enough for me. It's still a well written book, but not my cup of brimstone.

Midnight With the Devil was such a great read especially if you love books with a paranormal aspect to it. This author did a fantastic job writing a story that kept me entertained and hooked from beginning to end. I finished this book in one sitting. I absolutely loved Diana and Lucien and I enjoyed their back and forth banter even more. I expected this story to be darker than what it was but it was still a great read. I definitely look forward to reading more books from this author in the future.

THANK YOU NETGALLEY AND THE PUBLISHER FOR THE COPY OF THIS BOOK. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

I’m totally speechless right now! This took me by surprise in so many good ways. I mean holy cow! I’m not a romance type of person, so I typically stay away from the romance novels but this year is all about trying new types of genres for me to see if I would like them. Since October is right around the corner I gave this book a chance thinking it was going to be a dark twisted story.

It’s my first Emma Castle book and it’s definitely not my last time reading her books that’s for sure. She writes dark and edgy romance and I must say that she got me hooked and she is officially my romance author to look out for. I loved it so much that I will be purchasing the physical copy to add to my book collection.

We have an innocent girl name Diana, whose father has colon cancer and is about to pass away. It is out of Diana’s control when it comes to life and there’s nothing she can do but prepare for the death of her loved one.

Lucien AKA the Devil needs the purest soal to keep the hells gates strong which leads him to Diana.

“What would you give for him to be healed?”

“Anything…”

Are dearest Diana made a deal with the devil, exchange for her father to be alive and healthy, Diana must meet with the Devil every Friday at midnight until dawn for the next three months.

I had no idea where this story was going and how it was going to end. I kept reading and reading and the ending was SPECTACULAR! I was not expecting the ending and took me by surprise and WOW! Emma Castle knows what she is doing. The story was a wonderful read for me.

Very detailed story. I love that we get the background story of the once favored angel and how he became what we know as the Devil. All the characters in the story I fell in love with. The way Emma Castle described each character was perfect and well written. Diana are main character wasn’t the typical girl to just trust easily but take her time with trust, I mean she is with the Devil now and it wasn’t like love me love me type. Diana went with her instinct and what she knew of the Devil before anything grew between them.

I gave it 5/5 because the way the author wrote the story made you not want to put this book down, you wanted more and more to get to the ending to see what the fate was for the characters. This book is everything, my type of romance story. I can not wait for next year for Emma Castle’s second standalone A Wilderness Within!

I know we are never to judge a book by its cover, but something about this one kind of grabbed me. Once I read the blurb, the storyline sounded really interesting. Well, it definitely was. Usually anti-heroes are a hit or miss for me, but I really liked Lucien in this one.

I loved both characters so much! Diana was all good, she was so kind and sweet. She basically gave up her soul to save her father. And then you have Lucien, who could be such a jerk (he is the Devil), but as he spends more time with Diana, things start to change for him.

I did not see this as too dark of a romance, which is actually nice sometimes. I think it is the banter between the two that I loved the most. When Lucien was the a$$, I just wanted to kick him where it hurts, then we have those hilarious moments like in the grocery store, where I was laughing out loud. But then you have those sweet moments when Lucien actually starts to feel that made my heart melt.

Overall, I thought this was a great debut novel. And the ending was just perfect.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the complimentary copy of Midnight with the Devil. All opinions are my own.

This book was a pleasant surprise. Its classified as erotica, but it really wasnt. Not dissapointed at all!!
We meet Diana who in order to save her father, makes a deal with the devil. Every Friday for three months she would be his. Not a bad deal if I say so myself lol.
Lucien, was not what I expected. Yes, he was bad ass, but he was also very sweet. From the beginning you see Diana softening him.

Some spoilers ahead!!

The epilogue was good, tho I wish they had retained their memories of the past. I think Lucien's appreciation of what the Father had done wouldve been great to see. I felt the fear they subconsciously had, sad.
BUT overall, I really enjoyed this and will read more books from Emma!

I absolutely adored this book and for a debut author thought this was exceptional.
If there was such a thing as Christian Erotica this would fulfil that description with its message of redeeming love.
I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

Midnight With the Devil was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the concept of a personified devil living in a modern world and reading about how other angels would be involved. The characters and romance would have been better if they were more developed, but I think given how short the novel is, the author was able to achieve what she wanted to convey. There could've been a better way to show how Lucien was changing since the croucher demons didn't really add much to the story and it distracted from the plot. Diana could have been a bit more developed, but at least her main traits of selflessness and kindness were portrayed well. The sex scenes could also be a bit steamier since Lucien promised to fulfill Diana's darkest fantasies, but they weren't anything special. This was a still a fun and entertaining read.
