This is a really lovely story that’s deals with hard hitting topics very well. I expected an cosy winter read and was really happy it wasn’t all froth. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely adored this book.

I felt the topics of depression and mental illness were handled really sensitively and we were able to feel real empathy for the characters. I also really liked the film theme of “Its a Wonderful Life” running through the book, from the main character Georgie to the name of the coffee shop.

Thank you to the author, Netgalley and HQ Digital for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

‘It’s a Wonderful Night’ proved to be a wonderful book! However, don’t assume from the cover that it is a cosy romance, it actually deals with the issue of suicide and depression as well as community spirit and working together as part of a heartwarming romance.

When someone phones the charity shop where Georgia Bailey works by mistake she can’t just tell him it is the wrong number - the caller is on a local bridge considering suicide. As she talks to him, she feels he’s familiar but isn’t sure just who he is - until she buys a coffee at her local coffee shop. That’s when she realises it was the person always greets her with a smile and happy comment, the person who has served her coffee for the last two years, Leo. She doesn’t want him to realise it was her he spoke to and so begins a series of escapades as she endeavours to help him whilst not letting on about speaking on the phone….. Get ready for fun, friends, mad dashes, secrets and romance as well as helping regenerate the local high street for Christmas!

For anyone who enjoys the film with the same title, this will definitely appeal as there are references to it throughout the story. Whilst it does deal with difficult issues, and I really wished the lying and deceit had stopped earlier, it is well balanced and has a heartwarming, positive ending. The characters are all well developed - there are so many of them worthy of mention as well as the main couple. I really hope this will be the start of a new series based on the High Street and new community spirit which develops through this story. I’d love to learn more about some of Georgia’s friends and supporters in the Bank and, of course, Bernard! It is a magical Christmas read full of the spirit of community, hope and love.

I requested and was given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

A wonderful magic filled feel good romance and obviously perfect for lovers of Its a wonderful life movie. Loved all characters and could imagine myself living amongst them. I think all towns could do with a little of Georgie Bailey's magic reviving our little towns and lifting our spirits.

This is a first for me by this author... but not my last!!!

One night will change their lives forever…

Georgia works in the One Light charity shop, for a suicide prevention charity. Every morning she leaves a leaflet on the side of a bridge, in the hope that should someone need help, they'll get it.
Unfortunately the number for the helpline is too close to the number for the charity shop and despite a plea to head-office the number doesn't change... Georgia fears that someone may call needing help and getting through to the shop where the person answering is untrained and may not be able to help.

One night her fear comes true... not wanting to give the correct number for fear of upsetting the person and not wanting to put the phone down on someone who desperately needs help, she does something that she knows she could get fired for... she stays on the phone and talks to the person at the end of the line... they talk about their problems, their lives and normal every day things, until the call has the desired effect.

The next morning Georgia goes to the 'It’s A Wonderful Latte' coffee shop where she goes every morning for her coffee fix, however something is different... she recognises the voice from the end of the line the previous night... it's Leo... the coffee shop owner. She's been in love with Leo from afar every since he took over the shop from his father who sadly passed away.

She's desperate to help anyway she can!

Can she save the coffee shop as well as transform the workplace street to it's former glory?... you'll have to read to find out.

A beautiful story, well written and tackles a sensitive subject in a great way.

A heart-warming festive love story that reminds us that even in the darkest of times, hope is always just around the corner!

Thank-You Netgalley for my ARC.

It’s a Wonderful Night by Jaimie Admans is a holiday contemporary romance. Now while the cover seems whimsical and fun this one actually is set on the rather tough subjects of suicide and depression. Getting many mentions in the book is the movie It’s a Wonderful Life and while this isn’t a direct retelling it’s similar in nature.

Georgia Bailey works at local charity shop in a small town in the area of a few still privately owned shops that are struggling to compete with the big chains. One night while working late Georgia gets a phone call from a man on the side of a bridge that has mis-dialed the suicide hot line. Instead of hanging up Georgia lends and ear to someone who obviously needs it and talks the man down.

The next day as Georgia heads into work at the charity shop she discovers that the man she has had a crush on that owns the local coffee shop is the same man from the phone call the night before. Knowing that he’s struggling to keep his shop open and hang onto hope Georgia finds herself jumping in and doing whatever she can to help him wthout giving away her identity from the call.

Now, before I say anything else I would like to point out that I’m not a huge fan of the overused hide my identity trope. I’m not sure why anyone would think not being honest is a good idea and a basis to form a relationship so I struggle with believability with this one. However, I am a fan of Jaimie Admans writing as she has a way with making her characters, story and setting quite charming and likable with a dash of humor and this was no exception thankfully. In the end I’d give this 3.5 stars as the identity angst lasted a little long in my opinion but that’s from one that would prefer it not be there at all.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via Netgalley.

Georgia is inadvertently drawn into a situation which is not hers, not her business, not her circumstance. But she rises to the challenge magnificently and this book gives us a gentle read, humour and warmth and a happy ending. All the things I love!

I was a little unsure about what to expect from this book, as it begins with the Character of Leo, threatening to jump off the local bridge. Suicide is not a theme that usually features in Romantic fiction, as it is a serious subject. The author deals with the subject well, the discussion treats it seriously. The character Georgia tries to help Leo, even though she knows that she could lose her job. She managed to talk him out of jumping, by talking to him for hours. She recognises Leo's voice as belonging to her crush, the next day when she goes to buy a coffee.
The book reminds us that behind a smile there might be stressed and problems, that are being kept secret and hidden inside. Appearances can be deceptive, as you never know what someone might be going through.
Despite the serious subject matter, the book is heartwarming, and is even humorous in places, as Georgia struggled to keep her identity a secret, by coming up with elaborate schemes.
Another theme of the book is the film It's A wonderful Life, Georgia and Leo share a love of the movie, and as they learn more about each other, they discover that they share similarities with the film.
The book is very well written, and manages to have serious themes along with more light hearted themes. The characters are all likeable and it is lovely to see them all work together to show Leo that he does have support and help. There is a real sense of community, as they try to bring life back into their high street, to save their local business, as well as bringing back Christmas
This book is a lovely festive read, I didn't want it to end.

I received an early preview of this book from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This was a lovely read and perfect for fans of snowmance. Felt the ending was a slight bit rushed but the book as a whole was so enjoyable that I didn't mind.

Please write more about this town and the characters that live in it! I'd love to read about each of the shop owners and definitely Bernard's story.

If you are a fan of It's a Wonderful Life then you will want to curl up with a mug of tea and give this book a go.

What a beautiful read from one of my favourites - Jaimie Admans. I absolutely adore her style of writing. It has a way of grabbing you right from the beginning and making you feel as though you're right there next to the characters. This one in particular was beautifully written and I was totally invested in the story from beginning to finish. The cover was what drew me in at first, I love the moon, the starry evening, the beautiful trees and the bridge (that proves to be very significant) and the beautiful fairy lights all over!

It may seem to be quite a lighthearted story from the cover but when you read it it actually touches on some very serious and significant subjects. Some people may find this quite emotional (like I did - this topic isn't one I would normally read about). But I feel Jaimie wrote it in a beautiful and caring way and the ending was lovely.

This is another fabulous read from Jamie Admans. You might be mistaking from looking a the cover that its a light read, however it touches on a very serious subject...suicide. As someone who has lost family members and friends to this, I was worried that it wouldn't be taken seriously enough, but Admans finds the perfect balance between the light and the dark. The characters are well developed, and my heart was with both of the main characters. A must read
