This book had three different perspectives which I wasn't expecting when I started this book and each with different circumstances while all being connected to each other through work and friendship. I ended up not liking any of these characters or the circumstances they were putting each other in and how they were acting rather childish.

This was easy to read though and the writing was easily accessible but it just wasn't for me.

Unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me. I’m not a fan of chick lit but thought I would give this one a try. The writing was great and the storyline is an interesting idea, but it just wasn’t for me.

Ahhhh this was lovely book and it was good to read a "nice" book away from my usual "thriller" genre. Recommended for when you want a bit of a light read and escapism.

Kate is feeling very down, she had recently lost her father and feels that she is just an extension of her husband and kids... what happened to her own identity....... so she heads off to Paris where she meets up with Shannon and Laura. Shannon has her own secrets and not all is at it seems in her life and Laura has a commitment phobe boyfriend. Can the three of them put the world to rights and sort out their problems in a few days in Paris!

A lovely book... who hasn't wanted to take off like that......... and I liked all three of the main characters and found them believable. I will be looking out for more books by this author

An enjoyable story of 3 different women on different paths in life and the intersection of their lives in Paris.

Mother-of-two Kate has been feeling overwhelmed, particularly since the death of her father. And he once told her if you ever lose something, go back to the place you last had it. So Kate buys a one-way ticket to Paris, the place she last remembers feeling like herself. She’s hoping to spend some time with her best friend who lives in France, but Shannon has a big work conference on as well as her own issues to deal with. Meanwhile on the train there, Kate gets chatting to Laura who confesses that her long-term boyfriend just won’t commit.
This story focuses on three women who hope to find some clarity about their future direction over the course of a weekend in Paris. The story flows well from one character to another, however some of their problems seemed contrived, which kept me at a distance as a reader. Plus the resolutions felt far too rushed, leaving me with a neat but unsatisfactory ending.

The blurb makes it sound like this is a book about Kate and her feelings of dissatisfaction with her life, but it is a book about Kate, Shannon and Laura - all of whom have lives that are going in unexpected directions.

These three women are connected to each other in a variety of ways, and the men in their lives find out new things about them which changes things for everyone.

This was a sweet story which I really enjoyed. Most women would really be able to relate to these ladies, and women who have children in particular will relate to Kate's experience.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.

This book is like unwrapping an eagerly awaited gift! I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. This is not a wispy chick lit tale but a story with layers and depth to be immersed in - a bit like cuddling up under a huge duvet - in fact that’s where I recommend reading it, from start to finish in one delicious sitting.

Kate, Shannon and Laura are all in Paris, all for different reasons and all leading different life’s. The thing they have in common is that changes are afoot for all of them.

“Going to another country on a whim –without booking a return ticket –was the kind of thing the old Kate would have done. The single Kate. The reckless Kate. The fun Kate. The new Kate didn’t do things like that. The mother Kate. The sensible Kate. The bloody boring Kate.”

What a great read, I really enjoyed the escape to Paris! This is the story of three women and how their lives all converge with each other for a few days in Paris; and through supporting each other, they set themselves on a new course in life. Two of them are friends, another a work colleague and the chapters alternate through the events that have brought their individual lives to crossroads.

There is, of course, tears and upsets, but overall this is a real ‘feel good’ story where one woman, or aspects from all three, the reader is bound to find relatable. The writing is engaging where you wished that you could be sitting around the table with them at the cafe or hotel, taking part in their sharing and decision making. I found all three women to be likable and could relate to various aspects from each of their stories - these are situations that many could identify with - you are bound to recognise either a circumstance or trait that rings familiar. So congratulations to the author for providing ‘real’ people and relevant problems that the reader or readers friends may find relatable.

The satisfying aspect of this story is how the three women come together to support each other, provide advice and encouragement. When you are faced with circumstances in life that make you unhappy, what can you do about it? The answer is not ‘fly to Paris’ (although many of us would be satisfied with that) but it is about communication and staying true to self. A very poignant message to be found at the heart of this novel.

I recommend taking the time to read of Kate, Shannon and Laura’s time in Paris. Great characters and story to be had. You are sure to appreciate being part of their journey of self ‘re’ discovery.

“What was she going to say? That she felt… lost? Finding yourself was something that happened on a gap-year break in Asia at eighteen. It was more than a little careless to be forty-one, married with kids and a mortgage, and realise you’d lost yourself again.”

What a fun heartwarming story, set against the backdrop of a beautiful Paris!...

This is Emma Robinsons third book and I have had the pleasure of reading them all... what I love about her books is they are so relatable, books about real people with real lives and real problems.... she tells you like it is in an engaging and humorous way.... The good... the bad... and the ugly... of being a mother, of being a wife, of being a woman... her books reaffirm the fact that you are having normal feelings and that you’re not alone!

I think every mother of small children has had a moment where she just wants to escape! Kate lying awake in the middle of the night unable to sleep... her husband is snoring, her for-year-old is taking over half the bed, and all she can think is; how much is a train ticket to Paris? We’ve all been there, but Cate actually purchased that ticket and got on the train! On the train she met Laura who was on the way to a business meeting, Laura is wanting to move forward in her relationship, while her boyfriend of many years seems to be just fine with its current status...When Kate arrives in Paris she meets up with an old friend Shannon, Shannon seems to have embraced life, but does Shannon have some struggles of her own? Three women all in their 30s all in very different stages of their lives...

I would have loved to be in Paris with these three ladies, enjoying a night of wine and conversation... all three of them are so likable, and they all have their own personal troubles, and you just want everything to work out for them.... I did find Cate the most relatable of the three, simply because that is the path I chose in life... I had three small children in my 30s, but now that they are all grown up what I wouldn’t do to spend the day with them when they were little... I guess we are all a little guilty of the grass is always greener... this book was Filled with a lot of fun, A lot of a motion, and a lot of heart!

Absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys a good book with great characters that will make you laugh and realized that you aren’t the only one!

*** Big thanks to Bookouture for my copy of this book ***

A warm tale of three women who are all feeling a little lost for different reasons. Kate, the downtrodden mum; Shannon who is in a relationship with her boss but is running away from something and Laura with a noncommittal long term boyfriend.

At times it felt a little silly and each of the women were rather self-absorbed and not really dealing with their issues - but at others it was lovely to see the impact of friendships and being courageous!

I enjoy this author’s writing and look forward to reading more.

I haven’t read anything previously by this author so I am coming to her writing fresh and, having read this book I am wondering why I haven’t discovered her before.

This story is really fresh and enticing from first page to last as we follow the lives of three women dealing with personal crises, as they all come together in Paris. Kate is a mum-of-two wondering where she lost herself along the way and how to find herself again. Laura is sick of waiting for her life to move on with boyfriend, James and Shannon wonders if she is ready for the next step in her life or if she is still running from the past.

Any woman reading this book will recognise some facet of herself or something she has been through in the lives of one of these women and the author does a really fantastic job of building real women with real lives who are relatable to all of us. They were all the kind of people we know or who are friends with and whose problems are very real and relevant.

I had particular sympathy with Kate who finds herself trying too hard to be the perfect mum, and judging her success in the eyes of the other mums who she deems to be doing a better job. I am sure any of us who have children will be familiar with the pressure we put on ourselves to be the very best mum our children deserve and the guilt we feel when we believe we are failing and the frustration that often the father of the children don’t feel the same pressure. The issues women have balancing motherhood and career and sense of self are very much at the forefront of society and I think that Emma does a really great job of reflecting the different pressures women are under in modern society in this book, but in a way that is not aggressive or preachy but warm and compelling.

I was hooked on this book from page one and once I had finished it I felt like I had spent a few hours with some really great friends pouring out their problems in to my sympathetic ear. Grab a glass of wine and settle down for a girl’s night in with this lovely book. I will definitely be looking for other titles by this author; this is just the type of female-focused fiction that I enjoy reading.

What is it about Paris? This book had me laughing out loud on quite a few occasions. It has three women who are all lost in some way or another in their relationships. A real page turner! I didn’t want to stop once I started. Another new to me author that I’ll definitely have to keep my eye out for. Would definitely recommend!

This was a lovely read about three women, Kate, Shannon and Laura, all finding themselves lost in their lives, but for different reasons.

Kate who feels lost in her life at being a stay at home Mum. Shannon, Kate’s friend, is an American living and working in Paris with secrets she hasn’t shared with her gorgeous French boyfriend, who also happens to be her boss. Laura a sales woman who wants more from her long term boyfriend and hopes the work related weekend in Paris will give her time to make important decisions.

Even though my boy is now a teenager and just started working, I could really identify with Kate. I remember those times of feeling lost and alone and wanting to escape anywhere in the world. It’s a good job I couldn’t get on the Eurostar to Paris because I might have gone!

Once again Emma Robinson has written a wonderful story with characters and a plot so compelling that I couldn’t stop reading. I so enjoyed spending time with Kate, Shannon and Laura in Paris getting to know these lovely ladies and watching the personal journeys unfold.

I definitely recommend this if you enjoy contemporary women’s fiction and Toblerone chocolate!

We start out reading about Kate and then Shannon and finally Laura. Kate meets Laura on the plane to see Shannon. Laura work for the same company as Shannon. We don't find out until later on that they all know each other. They all have problems of their own they are tying to deal with and confiding with each other and getting drunk. Also doing some impulsive things.
Kate does everything for her family and seems burnt out. She needs time to herself. Shannon is not a family person nor the marrying type. Her boyfriend has older daughters who he wants her to meet but she keeps putting it off. Laura has been with her boyfriend for 12 years and she wants marriage, kids and the white picket fence but whenever she talks to him about it he puts it off. I loved how these 3 women come together and how they fight and lean on each other to help each other and will things all come together for them at the end on what they should really do?

I just loved this book, it was a truly heartfelt and honest story that warmed my heart. I devoured it in one sitting as the beautiful writing had me turning the pages with such frenzy I just had to know what happened next.

Set against the romantic backdrop of Paris we see three women with stories that intertwine at crucial moments in their lives. Female solidarity plays a huge role in this book but each character finds their brave front to the world rocked when their vulnerability is exposed as secrets start to emerge one by one.

Kate has been caring for everyone her entire married life but seems to have lost herself along the way. Shannon is ballsy and fiercely independent but is hiding heartbreak on the inside. Laura is at a crossroads in her longterm relationship to a commitment-phobe who refuses to lay down roots. All three women have actions to deal with and decisions needing to be made but I love how they guide each other through their choices portraying female friendship at its best.

One Way Ticket to Paris is a perfect read and one not to be missed. I love this book and everything it stands for and couldn't recommend it highly enough.
