The premise was interesting, but the execution didn’t quite land. I had trouble engaging with the writing style and pacing, and I ended up stepping away before the end. Might work better for readers who enjoy quiet, introspective historical YA with a gentle emotional arc.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC, even if I didn’t make it through.
