Who doesn't enjoy finding the right tongue twister that mashes up your mouth and makes everything you say unintelligible. Children enjoy the silliness and revel in seeing adults mess up. This book is fun. Pure and simple.

This cute children's book has many of the tongue twisters we all know so well including: Peter Piper, Swans Swimming and Woodchuck. With a few new ones thrown in the mix there may be some new ones here for parents to help their children get their tongue around. I really like the new one I learned from it that is simply one line: <i>"The queen in green screamed"</i>.

While there are large colourful illustrations there isn't much else to really experience here. This is not a bedtime story; just a bunch of cute twisters. Perhaps for some that would be enough but for the children I know (even the one who doesn't articulate well) this just didn't hold their attention. A good resource for a daycare or children's play area but not one I feel is necessary to add to your home library.

Please note: I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is an honest and unbiased review.

What a fun book. The pictures are great and the tongue twisters are amusing. Kids will have fun trying to say them and to get the adults saying them too.

This was fun. The standard tongue twisters like Sally by the seashore and Peter Piker are there, but so are some new ones to this read. Still, unless I am going really slowly I can not say The Queen in Green Screamed. It doesn’t seem like it should be that hard. The illustrations are nice and using twister that don’t show up everywhere else was a nice added surprise.

This book is a playground where you can come and play with words. Language is so fun to mess with and tongue twisters are the ultimate in word games.

Classic tongue twisters are highlighted such as Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, She sells sea shells, Betty Botter bought some butter, and a Tutor who tooted a flute tried to tutor two tooters to toot, just to name a few.

Each tongue twister is featured on a two page spread with delightful illustrations to accompany the text. I learned a few new ones myself and giggled as I tried to read them quickly. I must admit that stumbled a few times but hey that's what makes them so much fun and encourages you to read them again and again to get them right! The real fun is when you increase your reading speed and try not to trip up.

Kids will love the challenge of pronouncing each word correctly and celebrating when the words flow properly thus conquering their quest for perfection. I dare you to wrap your tongue around these word beauties and master the art of reading tongue twisters out loud to someone! I highly recommend this book. Long live tongue twisters!

A few tongue twisters with cute pictures. Some of the stories were new to me, others are classics. The drawings are colorful, but box-y, so I suppose it is a matter of taste.

A simple drawing is a paired with a classic tongue twister
Hard to figure what age group these are meant for when most adults would have a hard time, but I suppose kids would enjoy trying it. I’d never heard the one about the butter, and almost made it to the end.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

Kids love to try to say tongue twisters fast. They love stumbling over the language, and seeing how fast they can say them. So, this book is a delightful collection of old and new tongue twisters.

The pictures are bright and colorful. The phrases chosen are fun to say.

Tongue Twisters

Studies show that tongue twisters help children develop language and literacy skills. More importantly: Kids just love hearing their favorite grown-ups try to tackle these tricky lines. From the tale of sold seashells to the picked pickled peppers, “Tongue Twisters” is a short read that includes all of the classic twisters. This book should be a standard pick for any child’s book collection.

REVIEW
When I saw this children's tongue twister book I couldn't resist reading it. One of my Uncle's always used to tease myself and my cousins, saying them and trying to get us to say them back to him.

The cover is bright and attractive and I would imagine it will certainly draw the eye to it on a bookstore shelf. The genre of the book is listed as Children's Fiction, but I thoroughly enjoyed the book myself and I could imagine the book making a great stocking filler Christmas Gift for a wide age range.

Each tongue twister has a double page dedicated to it with a really clever illustration to go with it. I read the kindle version of the book and the colour's seemed quite bright and I would imagine attractive to children. The tongue twisters ranged from ones I had heard a lot as a child, such as Peter Piper picked a peckled pepper, and She sells sea shells on the sea shore to new ones I hadn't heard of before such as Betty Botter bought some butter, and Once upon a barren moor.

As I finished the book I really wanted even more, but for a young child I think this book is a perfect first collection of tongue twisters.

As I said above this really brought some precious childhood memories back to me and had me chuckling. My daughter is now 22 yrs old so not really they market this book is aimed at. Though I still had fun saying the tongue twisters myself and then challenging my daughter to say them, to see who could recite them the fastest with the least mistakes. I would definitely put it on your Christmas stocking filler list!

This was a great read – one the young are sure to return to quite regularly. You get a tongue-twister for each double-page spread, and while the pages are colourful enough all come with their own perfect illustration, in bold and child-friendly design. Some of the script isn't strictly a classic tongue-twister, more of a flourish of consonance, but some examples are great – and two I don't remember at all are really wonderful. There's a marvellous one about a tootling Tudor, which is one of two Limericks included, but I think my favourite regards a girl and her butter. I just think everything about this works – the pieces aren't too long to tire a young reader (and by their nature are designed to try and encourage faster reading and eloquent diction), and are varied, and are pretty much all great fun. Highly recommended.

What a fun book. It is full of tongue twisters that will delight any child. There are the common ones like Peter Piped a Peck of Pickled Peppers, She Sells Seashells by the Seashore and How Much Wood Would A Woodchuck Chuck. But it also has some I have never heard before Pretty Kitty Creighton, Three Gray Geese, Betty Botter and more. Each come with cute illustrations in relation to the twister. Young children will get a kick out of the illustrations and you trying to say them and older children will have fun trying to say them.

Kids are going to love this book! All the old favorites are in it and some new to me ones, too!. I haven't seen a book with tongue twisters in a very long time, so I was happy to see this one! I am going to recommend it for purchase and buy a couple copies for kids in my family as gifts. Great collection and wonderful illustrations.

This book is delightful. It is a fun, illustrated compilation of tongue twisters. Some of these are well known while others seem a bit more obscure. Children and adults can share this book and have a lot of fun! Enjoy it with a child in your life.
