This was such a great read! I loved the illustrations and the story did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend. We have already bought this book for the library and the patron feedback has been excellent.

An okay beginning. It's not exactly what I expected it to be but it is an interesting first volume. It held my interest and I'll definitely be looking into the future volumes.

ARC from Netgalley.
WOW... Can anything Scott Snyder does ever be less than amazing?!
You have to read this one to get all the points, but I'll hit the highlights here:
- The Justice League is now: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Hawkgirl, Green Lantern (John Stewart), and Martian Manhunter
- A new Legion of Doom has arisen to counteract them. Lex Luthor, The Joker, Cheetah, Grodd, Black Manta, and Sinestro
- The main tale revolves around an item coming to Earth from the other side of where the Source Wall was. Coming to be known as "The Totality", this item represents an enormous amount of power. Who do you think wants to take it? So, Lex creates an amazing plan, hijacking the bodies of the only two JL members who can get close: Superman and Martian Manhunter. Yes, they ultimately fail, but it's close and very tense and suspenseful.
-Two major new forces have arrived in our universe:
1) Umbrax is a new planet-sized Power Battery. The creation of a new Lantern Corps: Ultraviolet! They wield the light of the Invisible Spectrum and are extremely powerful. The power comes from inside the user, unleashing the hidden anger and chaos inside them. First Victim? John Stewart, who immediately turns on the JL and is able to do quite a bit of damage. He can control it, but it rises up in him easily and its a constant struggle. Sinestro, however, wields the light willingly and controls the new Corps.
2) The Still Force. Think the opposite of the Speed Force. The arrival of this in the world has been causing problems for Flash for quite a while, but learning to slow down and harness its energy is a key plotline to the book.
- We are told that there are 5 other new forces in our universe, but they are yet to be discovered.
- While Lex is licking is wounds at the end of the story, he says "You were right. I need you help." to a very sadistic associate. (You have to read to find out who, but my jaw dropped!)
- Starman, a self-proclaimed hero from the future has all the answers the JL will need, but says that 3 people must die for him to be able to share it.

I could write for hours and not be able to tell you all the amazingness that is this Volume of Justice League. AND, given its recent releases, this is just the boost that this title needed. Let's keep it going!
High recommend.

What a rush! A strange object hits Earth and the Justice League is trying to find out what it and why it is hear. Then there is the Legion of Doom that is trying to get to The Totality for their own nefarious purposes. And Batman gets to ride inside Superman. But he does not want to talk about that. And will everyone survive? Read and find out who has the best Batman voice!

Here's what you need to know. Scott Snyder takes control of the Justice League and he convenes the Legion of Doom to oppose them. Yup, you read that right. The Legion of Doom are in the DC Universe. As the two teams vie for control of the Totality, things are changed. Snyder is one of the best writers working in comics today and him taking the reigns of DC's flagship team is good news for fans everywhere. Give it a look.

Rife with wild ideas and superheroic cameos, Scott Snyder's Justice League Vol. 1: The Totality is assuredly what we need right now, a dynamic and relevant Justice League for the Rebirth era. There's spotlight here on Martian Manhunter and also Lex Luthor; though the whole book is well done, James Tynion's interlude guest-shot is among the strongest in the sequence when the dominoes begin to fall and we learn why specifically Luthor chose each member of his League rival Legion of Doom. Snyder is headed in the right direction and I'm eager to follow him on this journey.

That was... something for sure. I'm not sure exactly what it was, but, it was definitely something.

In all seriousness, this had so many sorta new things that were being added to the DC Universe that I was a little overwhelmed by it all.

Lex is much more Lex in this TPB than he's been in a while. The Justice League is back to mostly most of its core members as well. J'onn is back too, which made me go, woo! And so is John Stewart, which is the best news of all. And, he gets a heck of a story too.

It was a story that kept me guessing for sure, and I guess it could definitely go some interesting places next. I wasn't bored I know that.

I received this book via Netgalley thanks to DC Entertainment.

The artwork was good--some parts even felt like throwbacks to other eras of the comics. The story felt scattered. There was just too much going on. At times, the heroes seemed to be working all on their own instead of as a league. Having read Dark Nights: Metal, I was expecting more, and this one just wasn't as good. I wish it had more working as a team and less exposition.

Thanks to NetGalley and DC for the opportunity! It is Scott Snyder and James Tynion! Two legends of the industry. There are some fun cameos and the artwork is awesome. It was a little "wordy" for my taste, others may call it "in depth" Thought the villains were well done also, Think it would be a great Christmas Gift! If you are reading after Christmas, it is still a great gift for a friend or yourself! Thanks to all!

I love comic books and this one had great character development! I can't wait to find out what happens with the rest of the series.

This volume follows the events of Dark Metal, and shows Lex Luther going back to his semi-crazy but definitely all villain stage.

Maybe humanity is really all evil, all bad, and it is actually heroes like the Justice League standing in the way of the universe's true potential? That is the big question in Totality, as seven major villains try to live up to their full evil potential using a powerful force that only Luther can provide for them.

Welcome to the Totality Crisis on Omniearths. Or something. This has more scale-changing, more random-Greek-prefix-verses, and more stupid, stupid Macguffins of the Sacred Doodad of the Thingummarses from The Nowhere Realm of Beelzehenry kind than any old-school Crisis event. And it's just as crap. If not more so.

An overly complicated superhero story, hard to follow even for a comics fan. I do think it will appeal to current DC readers, but libraries need to know reading order to follow it.

Not many 64 year old men would read a comic book. this was very difficult for me to keep up with. Throughout, the good guys shifted to bad and then back. A new bad guy seemingly showed up on each page and God knows what the story was about. Lex Luthor is, as usual, the primary bad guy, but does he have allies or competition? Taking up this storyline without having followed the Justice league is just not possible.

Really enjoyed this graphic novel. One of the first ones that I have read. The art work was top notch and the story really grabbed my attention from the first page.

A great story that places the focus on the emotional development of the members of the Justice League as they work together to better understand and defeat "the totality." It is a fabulous story that should appeal to die hard D.C. Fans as well as average readers.

I'm never sure what to expect from Scott Snyder. He's never boring, but with him relaunching the Justice League, I was worried that we'd get wacky retcons and a need to tie everything together. The idea of bringing the Legion of Doom together sounded like fun (if possibily forced).

In the end, this is some of my favorite work from Snyder. It's a blast at times, with good characterization and the way out there sci-fi works out. It can be a little challenging to hold all the pieces together as a reader (and maybe reading Metal would have helped), but it works out in the end. The story has a universal threat, funny dialogue, and nice character arcs.

This volume both sets up plenty to come and functions as a (more or less) self-contained story (given some previous storylines showing up here as well as the obvious groundwork for the next stretch of the series). I'd jumped off JL some time ago, but Snyder's made it worth following again.

This is a great new storyline for the Justice Leauge. I know very little about them, but this was a great introduction.

I was ready for this! It's always good to bring the Team back together, and Justice League Vol 1: The Totality does just that!
Filled with beautiful graphics and brand spanking new story that takes place after a couple of events laid out in previous comics, this is a must read for any Justice League fan.
The writing is suburb so far and the paving is perfect. I'm looking forward to the next volume to my fix.
