I was given the opportunity via NetGalley to read an electronic copy of The Truth About us. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

Tyler Nusom met Rowan Steel when he was on the way to a job interview with Steel Mechanics, seeing her from afar. Turns out, the job was working for her father. The love affair that ensued burned bright, but will a massive betrayal on Rowan's part have the power to destroy Tyler's love for her? With Rowan not being forthcoming about what really happened, will she and Tyler ever be able to put the past behind them?

This NA romance had the potential to be a good story, but the author spent too much energy on the "bedroom scenes" and not enough on the actual plot. The lack of realism and originality did not help to make the book memorable, nor did the characters. I actually would have rather the author go for the cliche ending, instead of the truth we were given behind Rowan's betrayal. For these reasons, I would be hesitant to recommend The Truth About Us.

Luvd this book.

It's been a while since I ve read something from this author. But I am so happy that I read this book. I luvd it from the start to the end. The story was so addictive. I couldn't get enough once I started it. The main characters are really good. Rowan is just a great character. She is such a caring woman she puts others before herself without this whole book and this is what I found great about her but heart breaking at the same time. The things she has done to make the people she luvs happy was hard and in ways it didn't make them happy. But her heart was alway in the right place.

Tyler is a great guy and very sexy. He as been through a lot in the last few years and this was caused by Rowan. There hearts were so broken and things had happened and said that it made it hard to go back. Tyler is a really nice guy and even after what happened and how hard he tried to move on he still was great. I dont really know how is did move on but he did and everything was goin great until Rowan showed up.

I really luvd this story. I was dying to know what had gone on between them. I didn't see a few things happening so I was shocked in parts which just made this book so so good. I would highly recommend this book. I m so glad I ve got back to this author I luv her books she tells the story so good and creates great characters it's so hard to not fall for them. I can't wait to read more of her work.

It’s always just been Rowan and her dad. Living in a small town and working at his automotive center while she goes to college, Rowan has never known anything bigger than this. Until she falls in love for the first time. Normally Rowan would never trouble herself with the difficulty of dating someone who works for her dad but when she meets Tyler there is nothing that can tear them apart. Three years later she mysteriously breaks up with Tyler. They are both devastated and the twist is to figure out why. This very simple love story has a sweet romance but very little substance. Cute, easy, light but not really enough to recommend.

"Thanks to the author for providing me with a free ARC in return of an honest review.*

I deserve a prize for finishing this book. Granted, I did skim through the last half. But I deserve a prize all the same.

I was fooled by the synopsis and the cover into thinking that this book would actually have substance in it.

It took me just a few pages to realize my mistake when the heroine says –

“So I backed off. I let it go. I was Elsa in Frozen.”

Um what? And she’s not even telling this line as a joke. This is how she’s justifying herself to the readers about not contacting her ex-boyfriend for a year because he didn’t want to do anything with her after she fooled him into believing that she was cheating on him.

So, we start with her going to meet Tyler a year after their breakup just to cavalierly tell him that she hadn’t cheated on him. And she says this all in a ‘Just-so-you-know’ manner. After he blows her off in front of his current girlfriend, she leaves. Next scene, we have her sharing the story with her girlfriend, who laughs that she actually went to confront him. Rowan, instead of feeling offended, laughs along with her. Umm, at this point this book felt more like a sitcom rather than the angsty romance it’s supposed to be.

This book felt surreal to me from beginning to end. I couldn’t make sense of what anyone was doing. Rowan acts as a weak cardboard who lets anyone treat her the way they want. Tyler is a douchebag who kisses Rowan every time he sees her and then is back to being serious with his girlfriend who’s basically written as a blonde bimbo. He even stands aside to let his friends treat Rowan as a trash.

Everything felt too ridiculous to be true. The big reveal at the end fell so flat that even Elsa couldn’t pick it up with her magic. Yes. I went there. I’ve read my share of noble idiocies from protagnists in time with books, but this was something else.

Especially coming off a brilliant read, the flaws of this book stood out even starker. Even the big reveal at the end fell flat. The plot had potential but the execution couldn’t have been worse. Martin’s writing needs a lot of polishing. I’ll just end it at that.

I’m torn on what to say about this book. The plot sounded great and I couldn’t wait to dig in. However, I didn’t connect with the characters like I had hoped and that was disappointing.

I think this story had great potential, but I felt it was way too rushed. And when the truth was revealed I was like WHAT?? That’s it? Come on! I think the author could have dug a little deeper into that part. It was like she was ready to finish the book and be done. I wasn’t pleased. There were so many ways she could have written that ending.

I did like the writing style and I was rooting for Rowan in the beginning but then I just got bored with the story. The love scenes did nothing for me…there was no intimacy, romance, etc.

And why didn’t Tyler fight for her when she left? I don’t understand it. And his friends treated her so awful and he just let them. But she kept hanging around them.

Unfortunately, this is one second chance romance I wouldn’t recommend. I may check out another book by this author since I did enjoy her writing style.

This was a very quick easy read. There are a couple of topics that could be sensitive to s reader.
Overall the book was average. Nothing stood out to me. The characters were a little predictable.
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a story of love, sacrifice, selfishness, of an immature couple. Of how the decision of one person can sometimes change and hurt others

The love the have for one and other is a love that only happens once in a lifetime but sometimes that makes people do foolish things in name of that love

This is the story of redemption and forgiveness.

It was bittersweet sweet read. To see two people so in love but with so much hurt and regret inside

Unfortunately this book fell a bit flat. Every “twist and turn” could be seen from a mile away and the characters weren’t very likeable.
