While I do like her written I'm just not enjoying it like I use to .With that said I don't think she's the author for me any more, so as as right now I'm sad to say that I'm DNF her books

An unexpectedly entertaining and relatively quick read. I found the characters to be enjoyable and interesting. It's definitely another good story from Leslie North.

What happened 10 years ago to make Princess Salarai leave her home country? What has the gorgeous and hunky soldier Kalif got to do with it? Well it seems he has alot of explaining to do as he was the one who got her banished to Paris for the last 10 years. But was he really to blame or was he backed into a corner and made to say things? Princess Salarai is back and Kalif is appointed to collect her from the Royal airport. She isn't exactly ecstatic when she sees him, but someone else doesn't want her there, but wants her dead. Who could want to harm a princess who hasn't been in the country for 10 years, who's harboured this grudge for 10 years? Does Salarai still love Kalif and will Kalif still protect her when all is said and done?

Salari got a phone call that featured the country code of her country that she had been exiled for ten years from. The country she hadn’t been to since she had left. When she answered it was her younger brother Zatar. The only man she had ever trusted. The only one who hadn’t completely burned her. Zatar had called her to let her know of their mother's death but the sheik found out he had been calling than the calls came rarely. Her father had cast her out of her home and country because he believed a guard over his only daughter. She now had her own life she’d built with her own hands/ Than Zatar said their father had died in a helicopter accident. Zatar was now king and had even found his future queen. He wanted her to come home and she decided she would make a quick visit. That seemed right and fair. Salari hung up the phone in a stupor. Her stomach hanging somewhere between excitement and dread. She understood Zatar wanted her back but he didn’t understand the painstaking years she’d survived in order to build up her French life. Zatar had changed things since his father’s death. Kalih forced himself not to think about Salari but she refused to leave his headspace. He now worked for Zatar. Zatar told Kalif he needed him to pick up an important dignitary and bring her to the palace. She needed security and must be protected until she is in the palace. Kalif and Zatar had grown up like brothers. Kalif’s father had been the Captain Of The Royal Guard during Kalifs childhood. Kalif had stepped into the hole when his father passed away. The deepest part of him wished it is sher. Part of Kalif worried he might not fully let go of her. It was salari Balizar, Princess of Katihar. Kalif said hello and she said “ what are you doing here?” He told her Zatar had sent him to pick her to take here to the palace. Salari said no . He didn’t blame her for treating him like that. After their history, she had every right to. But he was here on the Kings orders. Her name felt strange on his tongue. He’d stop saying it around the time he had stopped writing it, almost two years after she’d departed. Two years of unanswered letters that he’d written pleading with her to forgive him, to hear his side, to accept every form of apology, convinced finally that he should just move on. Kalif had been Salari’s only true love but he had betrayed her and lied about her and caused her to be exiled. Kalif’s reason for lying in the past has made sense. They had been star crossed lovers as teens. Kalif had been nineteen and was risking his life for his love of Salari. But after his lie Salari had been branded a whore by her father and exiled. She said she would take a taxi and he said there were none. Salari did eventually get in the car to go to the palace. Than all eyes were on them. Royal Guard snubbed by returning princess. No one knew the details about what had happened before but her attitude would worsen her reputation. Salari now hated Kalif and he was to be her personal guard. But Salari doesn’t know everything that had happened and how Kalif’s hands were tied. But in the first twenty four hours Since Salari had been back there had been two attempts to kill her in twenty four hours. Kalif will do everything in his power to prevent anyone from hurting Salari as someone was somehow getting into the palace. With her life in danger Kalif takes Salari to a secret place to ensure her safety while there the love they had deep in their hearts was rekindled. They returned back after the the intruder had been caught. But they find out there in more than one intruder and person who wants Salari dead.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved Salari and Kalif together . But why didn’t Kalif didn’t go to france and personally apologize to Salari and tell why he had betrayed her. He wrote her for two years why wouldn’t he face her and try to make her understand? I loved that at least Zatar had stood by her and kept in contact even if it wasn’t very often. This was a quick read but had a lot in it. It had: betrayal, death attempts, star crossed lovers, passion, danger, intrigue, unknown people trying to kill a princes, a princess, suspense, anger. A Captain of the Royal Guard,a lie, action, a secret place, and so much more. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

Leslie North is one of the few authors I've read that can pack so much into a story that's not long and drawn out, yet gives enough details to make it easy to visualize the characters and events. With this being a novella, events tend to happen fairly quickly, but not so fast that it feels like part of the story is missing. A bit more drama-heavy, but nothing that bogs down the overall story.

As usual, Leslie can create a wonderful story with tender, love and care... and wet panties... This time it is about princess Salari, who was exiled from her country ten years ago by her ruthless father. She was banished due to the lies of her best friend Kalif.
When her father dies and Salari's brother Zatar invites her back home, she is hesitant to leave her life in Paris. And after 24 hours in Kattahar and two attemps on her life, she seriously reconsiders taking the first plane back to France. But Kalif doesn't want her to go and he tries to explain the reasons for his treason. Will he get a chance to prove his worth as the head palace guard? Or will Salari leave Kattahar permanently? Find out for yourselves in this wonderful hot read by Leslie North. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

After living in exile for ten years, Princess Salari finally returns home. She is still trying to get over her broken heart from when she left before. Her father was convinced she did something but no matter how hard she try to confess her innocence her pleas went unheard. Returning to her home country she reunited with the love she left behind and her brother. Unfortunately not everyone is happy to see her return and her life is in danger. L0ve how Leslie continues her stories throughout the series.

Princess Salari has returned to her country after exile however not every one is pleased to have her back. Kalif must defend her while finding out who is behind the danger. Page turner from the first page. Good second book in series.

Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Princess Salari was banished form the Palace after an unfortunate incident with the Prince of Asodonia and the only person who could vouch for her, her lifelong love Kalif backed the Prince and not her.

Now after the King's death, Zatar has now been crowned King and wants to put to right the wrongdoing to his sister and bring her back from France.

After her arrival at the airport, Salari is shocked to find her driver to be Kalif, she refuses to return with him but soon changes her mind when she find she cannot resist the love she still feels for him.

When Salari's life is once again in danger, Kalif takes her to a secret place and there they rekindle their love and return home when the intruder is caught. Unfortunately that is not the only intruder wanting to get rid of Salari and once again the danger to Salari is real. Can Kalif finally rid the Palace of the danger and keep Salari safe?

***ARC was provided to me for a fair and honest review***

Overall rating: 4/5

Heroine (Salari): 4/5 Salari is the once exiled princess of Kattahar, but with her tyrant father dead and her progressive brother taking the throne, she is allowed back into her country.

Hero (Kalif): 4/5 Kalif is the head of the guards for the palace working directly for the new king Zatar.

Plot: 4/5 Princess Salari comes home from Paris at the request of her newly crowned brother Zatar after 10 years of exile enforced by their father. Kalif, Salari’s only real love, is now her personal guard but a past betrayal keeps them apart now. Will Salari learn forgiveness and will Kalif tell her the truth of the past?

Personal Review: It’s a quick story to get through, but very enjoyable. This story does the rekindled storyline right in that all the necessary bits of the past come out pretty early in the story so the reader doesn’t feel like they’re missing something pivotal.

Kalif’s motives for lying in the past make sense especially with the power difference of the couple. They were star crossed lovers as teens and Kalif was likely risking his life at the time for love.

I didn’t see the villain's identity coming until close to the reveal. Though their motive makes much more sense than some villains in these types of stories.

Another great read by Leslie North! If you haven't read The Sheikh's Royal Seduction I suggest you read it before this book. Both books can be read as a standalone but you get a better idea of the family dynamic which makes for an amazing story! Princess Salari moved to Paris after she was exiled for something she was accused of but didn't do. Kalif and Salari loved each other, but Kalif was the nail in the coffin as to her exile and she didn't know why or even want to after he lied. When her father died her brother Zatar (whom you meet in the first book) called her and wanted her to come back home. When someone realizes Salari is home they will stop at nothing to make she doesn't live another day. I loved this book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed and advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Received this ARC book from NetGalley. YKalif and Salai another great Leslie North book series that keeps you reading. This book had more drama but since her book's are short the love story plays out fast. These two had history going into this book so it makes for rekindled love that never faded. I was not disappointed and will always choose a Leslie North book if I see it.

I love Leslie North's writing, The flow of her stories and perfect. This one takes us on a journey with Salari. She was exiled from her homeland and family by her father 10 years ago. Her father died and her brother is now King and wants her to return home. Salari, agreed to come home for a short visit to meet her brother's fiancé and go back to her life in Paris. She does not want to see the man she loved so many years ago, that betrayed her. Kalif, the man who turned on her so long ago, was the one to pick her up from the airport. And that when lift for Salari starts to change and the journey begins. I loved this story from start to finish. I could easily read it again!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is number 2 in a series. It reads great as a stand alone. This is a second chance love story. While I found it unbelievable that Salari could forgive Kalif, I still found it fun and a good read. She was banned for 10 years from her country and seemed to do ok in Paris, but why did she never stand up for herself while in Paris? She's not bitter? Well let me know what you think! I rate this 3.5 stars.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I really liked this book better than the first one in the series! Salari was coming home after the father that banished her died. The worst part for her was the fact that her former friend was the one that lied and caused her to be banished.

That makes it hard for a HEA when the man has hurt the woman he loves so badly! Unless, there is an awfully good reason for this betrayal. It really did seem like Kalif was put in a position that he did not have a good choice so he went with the option that he hoped would be the least diseasterious.

My only thought was that if he really cared for Salari, Kalif should have at least attempted to see her in person. If he truly cared for her, I would hope that he would try to take care of her after the damage that he caused. I also wonder about how she survived on her own, did she have money to help or was she destitute when she got to France? A bit more info on that would have been nice.

The person responsible for the attacks on Salari was surprising and glad to hear the real reason that it was so easy to get into the palace! At one point, I wondered how well Kalif was doing as captain of the guard when it was so easy to get to Salari.

Loved the epilogue and their HEA!

In this continuing saga of the lives of Sheikhs and Sheikhas, we find that banned Sheikha Salari is now welcomed back by her brother- though not everyone is happy. The captain of the palace guards, Kalif, is now her protector whom she believes was the cause of her banishment. Salari and Kalif also have a romantic history that appears to be in doubt as to whether they can ever reconcile. Plus there is an enemy about trying to destroy Princess Salari.
