As someone who loves stories involving Munchausen syndrome, I was very excited to read and review Saving Meghan. Unfortunately, I really struggled to get intot this book. I read about 40% before I finally decided to DNF the book rather than force myself to finish reading it only to give it a poor rating. I don't think it's a bad book, but I really did not enjoy the characters or narration style. I normally enjoy unlikeble characters, but I found these characters annoying to follow.

My apologies to the marketing team & author, because I was hoping to provide an insightful, positive review, but I just did not connect with this novel. Since I did not finish the book, I will not be sharing my negative opinions publicly.

Saving Meghan was a solid medical thriller, 4 stars! I was on the edge of my seat reading the first 90% and wishing I had less obligations in my day. The end wasnt my favorite and brought down the book, it was just too far fetched.

I thought that the characters were multidimensional and I really liked them. I loooved all the clues that were dropped along the way that made Saving Meghan so much fun.

I would definitely reccommend reading Saving Meghan and will be on the lookout for what else D.J. Palmer comes out with next.

“You have to figure out their doubts and fears, try to use their pasts to your advantage”

“My biggest secret was that I knew his.”

“there’s a difference between letting someone into your life and letting them define it.”

I didn't like this book, couldn't get into the storyline and I disliked the characters.

I ended up doing a lot of skim reading just to get to the end.

My first book by this Author who is following in his late father's footsteps. A great story. A teenage girl who presents with symptoms of malaise but there is no diagnosis from doctors. There is a question whether the mother suffers from Munchausen by Proxy. Lots of twists and turns and an ending I did not see coming. Thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

Meghan is almost 16 and unwell. Her Mother has taken her from doctor to doctor to the point that Meghan goes into hysterics when she sees a needle. Her Father, who originally was hand and glove with his wife is now skeptical and resistant to her attempts at helping Meghan. When she becomes ill once again Becky, the Mother, takes her to Zach, a new doctor, who gives her a probable diagnosis. Becky agrees to also see a Gastroenterologist for a second opinion. This leads to them taking Meghan to the hospital and ultimately to the Courts taking temporary custody of her and then placing her in a locked down Psychiatric ward because if her illness and whether it is real or not. The characters are all well developed and the plot is filled with twists and turns enough to keep any reader happy. Thanks to Net Galley and St. Martin’s Press for an e-galley for an honest review.

Interesting story, def could call it a psychological thriller. Becky and Carl are parents to Meghan. Meghan for years appeared to be healthy, but the became ill. No one knew why. Becky searched for answers until they finally met Dr. Fischer who believed that Meghan had Mitochondrial.

That’s pretty much the basis but there is so much more. It’s a book that will leave you guessing, (although I was instantly suspicious of one character based on the little details the author provided) I actually read this in one day!

Thanks so much to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. I enjoyed it!

I read about half this book before I gave up. SAVING MEGHAN is about a daughter who is suffering from an unknown ailment and the mother willing to go to any lengths to save her. While it is an interesting premise, the characters were not well-developed enough for me to truly care about them and the pacing of the story lacked tension. I got the feeling that DJ Palmer was recounting her own experience which, whiel painful, did not translate into a good novel.

Saving Meghan by D.J. Palmer, I was really drawn into this story of 15 year old Meghan who has been sick with no diagnosis that sticks and her mother who seems to be pushing hard for tests and diagnosis and her father who does not seem to believe there is anything really wrong with her....I had a hard time putting this down once I got started and with the twists and turns, a murder here and there....definitely a book that holds your attention and makes you think! Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for allowing me to read this ARC book and give my honest opinion. *****

Meghan is a young girl who is very sick. She is fifteen, and doesn't enjoy quality of life. Becky her mother has her in and out of doctors offices and hospitals getting tested for anything and everything that may be making her sick. She has been tested so much she has developed a severe fear of needles. When the hospital steps in and takes custody of Meghan. Her mother and father are beside themselves. Fighting the hospital is tantamount. Fighting family can lead to death. First rate read. Outstanding!

I was blown away with this one. Rarely do I find a book (and yes maybe there is a slight spoiler here) where I loathed and despised a character so much (I was calling them horrible names under my breath) throughout the greater portion of a story only to find out I was completely wrong about them.
This is the story of Meghan, a 15 year old girl who starts experiencing multiple symptoms of an illness no one can determine. We meet several of Meghan's doctors along the way who think they have the answers. One thinks it is mitochondrial disease (MITO) while another thinks the symptoms are psychosomatic. One of Meghan's physicians, Dr. Nash, goes so far as to accuse Meghan's mother of projecting Munchausen by proxy syndrome on her daughter. As the story unravels in various twists and turns we learn the truth about Meghan's condition but the bombshells do not drop until nearly the very end. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what is wrong with Meghan and just how are they going to "save" her.

A captivating book that keeps the reader turning the pages to find out what will happen next. Some turns are predictable, while others leave the reader speechless.

I was given this ARC through NetGalley. I have never read anything by D.J.Palmer and it sounded good. At first I wasnt thrilled because there were many incidences in a hospital, talking about medical procedures but the more I read the more I needed to know what happens.

The story is told around Meghan who is ill, or maybe not, because her mom Becky thinks she is, but her medical tests show otherwise. Along comes Dr. Fisher who thinks she has Mito - a disease his son died from. And then there are others who think the mom has Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a rare behavioral disorder where the primary caretaker, typically the mother, seeks medical help for made-up symptoms of a child.

And so this is what kept me reading, to find out just what was wrong here...and the story gets more interesting the further I read. This book will not be out until April 2019, but it should go on your TBR list, because the ending is not at all what I was expecting!

Saving Meghan by D.J. Palmer is a medical thriller about a girl who is in the hospital a lot. Is she really sick or is her mother obsessed with finding a cure at her daughters expense? I liked this book. It was a little slow in the beginning but the rest of the book held my attention. There were a few twists that made the story very interesting. Great story, great book. Highly recommend. My thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Meghan is in the hospital a lot. Is she really sick? Her Mom is obsessed in finding out what is wrong with her Or is she. This is a very good book and had me hooked right away. 1 of those I recommend everyone reads for themselves . You will not be sorry as this book was amazing.

This was such a fun read. I was immediately hooked from the first page and kept trying to figure out the ending, but couldn’t. I read a review where someone said that the ending came out of left field and that no clues indicated what would happen, but I don’t agree. I feel like now I know what happened, I could pinpoint so many things that should have led us to certain conclusions. That’s what makes this a great book—I want to reread it so I can catch the things I didn’t the first time!!!!
