Never have I ever wanted to throw a book, read the ending before I got to it, or cheer and sigh all at the same time while reading a book. This book absolutely made me crazy. I was confused and stressed and yet I could not stop reading and honestly, I loved every minute of it, especially the epilogue. There is just nothing better than a domestic suspense book when it is as well written as this one is.

I highly recommend this book to lovers of drama and suspense, extremely well written characters, mysteries that keep you guessing till the final pages and an ending worthy of all of the stress you’ll feel getting to it. This is one of my favorite books this year.

I received an Arc of this book

Oh my, this was a thrill a minute! Meghan has been to countless doctors but no one can discover what's wrong with her. Is it a medical issue or a psychiatric one? This tends to divide the parents as mother Becky calls 911 at the drop of a hat and father Carl insists she is over-reacting. Becky is then accused of Munchausen by proxy as she hovers over Meghan constantly. Of course things escalate as it becomes clear that Meghan is keeping secrets and several have to do with the family dynamics. I love medical thrillers and this one was unlike anything I've ever read as it deals with complex relationships and there is suspense on every page. A very engaging novel!

Becky Gerard's daughter is very ill with a wide range of varying symptoms. Becky's entire life now revolves around Meghan's illness. Becky seeks advise online and has brought her daughter to numerous doctor,s but nobody is able to find a diagnosis or treatment that helps Meghan. When Meghan's health takes a sudden turn for the worse, the lives of Becky, her husband, and their daughter are changed forever.

This story is told from multiple points of view and is a combination of domestic thriller and medical mystery. The mystery over Meghan's condition becomes more of a thriller when there are doubts as to whether Meghan is physically ill, if her illness is psychosomatic, or if somehow Becky is responsible for her daughter's symptoms. It's heartbreaking to see what Meghan is going through and scary to see the direction things turn when hospital and government officials become involved in Meghan's situation.

Becky can be pushy and manipulative one minute but loving and supportive the next. I changed my mind several times as the story progressed about Becky's motives and what was really going on with Meghan. It was clear that Becky, her husband Carl, and even Meghan all had secrets and some many of the characters had their own agenda that was more important than helping Meghan. I figured out a couple of them, but couldn't have guessed all the twists and turns the story takes throughout the book.

Many times during the book, I was rooting for Becky even when I didn't trust her! The story was full of tension and suspense. I didn't want to put this book down until I found out what it would take and who would ultimately "save Meghan." I really enjoyed the book and would rate the book 4.5 stars.

I received this book through NetGalley through the courtesy of St. Martin's Press. The book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

Saving Megan is an eye opening look about how our beliefs can challenge what we know about our families. Becky grew up with a mother who was constantly using her as bait in the medical community to get documentation that she had medical needs that would prevent her from working. Becky did not want this life for herself and was able to move away from her mother and begin a life with Carl and eventually their own children. Affter, losing their first born, Becky and Carl move to a new area and begin over with their new daughter, Megan. Megan, now a teenager, is constantly complaining about stomach pains, lethargy and a gradual weakening in her body. Becky is very driven to find a reason her the decline in the health of her daughter. Carl begins to believe that Megan is not physically sick but mentally sick. Many twists and turns occur as you read about Megan and her parents. These twists and turns will have you questioning what might actually be taking place within this broken family. Which parent is correct? Will the hospital cause harm or hurt Megan before finding a cause and a way to help Megan?

Such an amazing book - the feelings of hate toward the characters - the medical drama - the plot twists and surprise ending were absolutely amazing. I stayed up way past my bedtime last night because I could not stop reading; I was compelled to know if my thoughts were dead on (partly - yea me!!) and then the ending blew me away. Well done!

I really, really really liked this one. I think the ending kind of ruined it for me though, I thought it was a little far fetched. While it was not what I expected, it didn't exactly feel like it went with the rest of the story. But that's just me. I was on the edge of my seat trying to finish this one! Would definitely recommend.

I can’t wait to read another book by D.J. Palmer. This was one of the best books I’ve read lately. Saving Meghan is a psychological thriller that will keep you intrigued for hours. I couldn’t put this book down. Palmer includes twists in the story so that I didn’t have any idea how this story would end.

Couldn't stop reading this! Finished in less than 24 hours! It kept my attention from start to finish and THAT TWIST! Don't even get me started. I had NO idea that was going to be how the book ended.

I was so excited to get an advanced copy of Saving Meghan by D.J. Palmer from St. Martin's Press! This is the first book I have read by D.J. Palmer and I was blown away by the story line!! This was another faced-paced medical mystery. You didn't know who to believe and trust. You meet Meghan and quickly learn she has a mysterious illness that has yet to be diagnosed. Her mother is overwhelmingly distraught and want to get answers for her daughter. This book follows the course of diagnosis and unfortunately a legal battle surrounding Munchhausen. You really feel for Meghan who is young and very much scared through the whole book. I will definitely be checking out Palmer's other works and will be recommending this book to others! Special thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Saving Meghan by D. J. Palmer. A book that was suspenseful and had me questioning things. It did drag at times but I'm sure that was because the chapters went back and forth between the characters. It was still a enjoyable book.

I recently watched a Lifetime movie Love You To Death about a famous Munchausen syndrome by proxy case and have been a little obsessed, so when I found this book via Netgalley I was incredibly excited. The really fun part about this book was trying to decided if Becky really want "making" Meghan sick, if Meghan really was sick, or if there was something else going on. The book jumps between Becky, Meghan, and Zach, Meghan's doctor, and does a great job of driving you absolutely crazy while keeping you totally addicted to the book.Saving Meghan is a rollercoaster that pulls you in. You can't help but feel for Becky, whose daughter is torn away from her, but at the same time you  have to wondering if maybe she is doing something to her daughter. And you feel for Zach too, a doctor with personal demons that may be getting in the way of him working with Meghan. But at the base of this book is Meghan, a girl with her own secrets. This book is really excellent, and a quick read too. Is Meghan really sick? Or is there something more sinister going on?

Fantastic, fast-paced book told in multiple points of view. I liked having the book told in multiple points of view because it allowed the story to evolve quickly and it sometimes swayed your opinion of who and how things were happening to Meghan. I did not have the ending guessed and was surprised as it all came together. It is amazing the lengths a mother is willing to go for her child, or the lengths a lover is willing to go to get what they want!

Meghan has been sick for a long time, and this book follows her mother's plight to get her help, even though no one seems to know exactly what is wrong with her.

This was a great book! There were moments when I thought I knew what was going on, but soon after I thought I had it figured out, my train of thought would pick up another detail that made me think something else. I love books that I can't figure out until the end! I was never on the side of #believebecky, but I wasn't convinced either way on how to feel about her!

The writing in this book was wonderful. Everything flowed well, and there was never a moment where the book seemed to drag by or where things got dull. This was my first D.J. Palmer book, but I can't wait to pick up more!

Thank you #StMartinsPress and #NetGalley for a chance to review #SavingMeghan!

What an amazing read! You follow along with Becky as she tries to find out why her 15 year old daughter, Meghan, is so incredibly ill. She goes through various doctors, tests, hospital stays and medications. Eventually Meghans illness takes its toll on Becky and Carl's marriage. You will never guess how it turns out. Incredible and suspenseful book and I look forward to DJ Palmers next book!!

Saving Meghan is a train wreck to read. THe plot is super messy. Becky is convinced there is something seriously wrong with her daughter and keeps dragging her to every conceivable doctor and hospital. She learned this behavior for her mother. Things go from bad to worse the daughter is taken from her parents and Becky goes crazy to get her back. In the end, ugly surprises are revealed about the husband and one of the doctors. Frankly I didn't like any of the characters in this book and thought they all needed serious help.

Saving Meghan was sooo good! I was hooked from the beginning. I loved the writing style and reading from different POV’s. I love books where you are constantly guessing what is going on and wondering who you can and can’t trust. I had many different ideas swirling around in my mind and even when I wasn’t reading I found myself thinking about Meghan. This is a must read and believe me it won’t disappoint.

Thank you to St. Martins press for the Advanced Readers Copy, all opinions are my own.

Imagine your child gets ill and the doctors cannot find a reason for the illness. What would you do? Would you research it yourself and become a advocate for your child, or would you accept that there is no answer? This is the dilemma Becky faces when her daughter Meghan gets sick. Becky chooses to push on for answers, for testing, for a diagnosis.
Now imagine a doctor gives you hope for a diagnosis, only for you to discover that the doctor thinks it's all in your head. Becky is faced with challenging the doctor, the hospital, and even her husband to prove that she is not making Meghan sick and to prove that Meghan needs help.
As you read, you wonder whose side you're on. Is Meghan really sick or is Becky making her sick? Is Meghan faking? The story tests your beliefs as you flip back and forth with every twist as you reach the shocking ending.
An entertaining and original story that is definitely worth reading.
Thanks to Netgalley and St Martin's Press for the advanced copy of the book.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
This book held my interest throughout, even if it was a bit predictable. I guessed what was happening to Meghan and who was responsible as soon as the author introduced that character, but it was still entertaining. Meghan is likeable enough but her mother is annoying as hell. Some things that are said are repeated later, but maybe the final copy of the book will have some of that edited out.

Saving Meghan was a great book filled with many twists and turns. It kept my interest 100% of the time. At some point in the book, I had pinpointed every character as the “bad guy”. Munchausen by proxy has always interested me and freaked me out, to a point where I just cannot comprehend it happening, although I know it does.

Becky Gerard, mom to only child, Meghan, is a helicopter mom if there ever was one, but is she sick? That is the question in Saving Meghan!! Definitely worth reading!
