This is a very interesting piece of nonfiction to read in regards to gardens and plants in the in the outdoors. I think this would be a great book for someone who’s interested in gardening or interested in in the outdoors because of the subject and how well the author writes. Her writing styles very clear and concise and it actually is fun to read because it’s packed with information.

More than I expected, a deeply thoughtful journey through what gardens & gardeners mean. Something to think about when I'm on my stool, planning my beds & rifling through seed catalogues

This book is more than expected, with historical references, how gardening has morphed into a recreational activity in our industrial age, advances in gardening—for sustenance and pleasure, and a chronology of gardening literature. It’s about far more than planting, encompassing various philosophies and exploring gardening throughout fiction and non-fiction. I was fortunate to receive this wonderful book about the practicalities, aesthetics, and dreams of gardening from the publisher through NetGalley.

This review is scheduled to post on my blog Dec. 3, at which time the link will be accessible. I will also share on social media sites and retailers.
