I received an excerpt of this book from Netgalley and I enjoyed what I have read so far and definitely look forward to reading the rest of it. I found it to be very well written, descriptive, and suspenseful.

Loved the first 4 chapters of Watching You - I think this will prove to be yet another fantastic read from Lisa Jewell. We're thrown into the heart of the story from the start - a murder, what looks to be a possible marriage made in haste and Joey's growing obsession with her much older next-door neighbour. Can't wait to read more.

This excerpt has me so excited about this book! I recently read Then She Was Gone, and I can't wait to read this one.
There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but it's going to be exciting to see how this pans out!

Thanks to NetGalley for the excerpt!

Four chapers just aren't enough!! They did however pull me straight in. Well written and descriptive. The characters are interesting and I need to read more!

The writing is descriptive and it is possible to get a sense of the people in the book. The author certainly sets the scene well.. Although the story sounds rather romantic I found the excerp from this book rather dull. Story sounded rather predictable. It certainly didn't whet my appetite.despite the opening chapter! Just not for me!

A murder at the beginning pulls you right in...but the mystery lingers. Who was murdered...why...and by who? So many unanswered questions! This four chapter preview was just enough to peak my interest!

I’ve only read one book by Lisa Jewell, but I really enjoyed it! She draws you in and keeps your attention.

Joey is newly married...Alfie was a “crush” she only knew for a short time. After her mother’s death, they returned to her home town and moved in with her brother and sister-in-law.

She sees a much-older man in the neighborhood...and another “school-girl crush” is formed. She fantasizes about him...but they are both married. Will she become obsessed enough to act on her fantasies? I’m curious to find out more about these characters and finish this story!I’ve only read one book by Lisa Jewell, and really enjoyed it. I’m curious to find out more about these characters and finish this story!

Thank you to NetGalley, Atria Books and the author for this excerpt in exchange for my honest review.

This is a great start to a murder mystery. From the first three chapters, I can already tell it will be fast-paced and intriguing. I enjoy how descriptive writing style and the typed police interview. I am looking forward to this one!

Wow! After reading the first four chapters of Lisa Jewell’s new novel, Watching You , I can hardly wait to read the entire novel. It has just enough to entice you to find out who the guilty party was who committed the murder in the Prologue. The characters all sound very interesting, although they are not entirely fleshed out yet. The setting of the painted houses on the hill leaves a lot to the imagination of who lives in theming and how they will interact. Mrs Jewell, your previous novels have been some of my favorites and I know this one will not disappoint. A solid 5stars to the start of your newest novel. Bravo!

Lisa Jewell has captured the reader from the get go in Watching You. Josephine has found herself with a person she did not think she could get and back home after awhile away enjoying freedom and youth. Reality has set in for the newlywed and now she faces an attraction with an unattainable married older man who lives next door. The fact that there is a back and forth between the events before the murder and the investigation after makes for a lively reveal when the plot twists come.

The excerpt of this book was good, in that it was intriguing. At first it was tough to keep all of the characters straight (and Joey is a female, which I did not get at first!). However, it soon straightened out and I wanted to learn more about how they all related, what the relationship was between Joey and Tom and why they were in a hotel room together the night he is being investigated by the police. It's tough reading just a snippet without being able to continue, but it seemed the pieces were being put in place nicely in order to set the stage for what appears to be an interesting mystery/thriller.

Jewell's writing never ceases to amaze me. She can take the most mundane daily details and describe them in a way that just arrests the reader, which makes her books impossible to put down. I loved the sneak peek into Watching You, and am already so curious what happens between Joey and Tom. I love the cover - all of Jewell's covers are evocative and attractive. I am a huge fan, thank you for letting me preview the newest release! I cannot wait to read it.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the opportunity to read an excerpt from Lisa Jewel's upcoming book. I enjoyed the characterizations and buildup of suspense. There was a foreboding of something very unpleasant happening. I have already preordered a copy of Watching You when the book is published.
