Hmm, I usually give books at least 50 pages. This excerpt is the first 4 chapters. I can't say this one grabbed me. I'm not too fond of any of the characters to this point. I'm not sure I'll be reading the rest of the book. I'm sure this book is a great fit for some readers, just not this reader.

Thank you to Artria Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book excerpt in exchange for my honest review.

I received the first four chapters of this book for review and I am really looking forward to reading the rest. I have enjoyed all of Lisa Jewell's books and this one is no different.

Can't wait to see where this goes. The character Joey is already giving me the creeps. What an ungrateful jealous bitch. The book.starts out with a murder and I really want to see if my predictions are right on who's dead and who the killer is.

received an excerpt from Netgalley.com for Watching You by Lisa Jewell. It was only five chapters long but I have read many books by Lisa Jewell and just from the five chapters I was given to read it looks like another great psychological thriller and I can’t wait for it to be released in December of this yearhttps://www.goodreads.com/book/show/38355282-watching-you

I received this book from a Goodreads as a winner of a giveaway, and I am choosing to review it for NetGalley, Goodreads, and Atria Books. This book was an excellent thriller that was gripping from the beginning. All of the characters were well written and each had their secrets, making for a good story full of suspense and intrigue. The book kept me guessing until the very end when the killer and motive were revealed! Loved this novel and will recommend to anyone wanting a good, suspenseful story. #Goodreads #giveaway #AtriaBooks

The newest from Lisa Jewell was already at the top of my list but after this teaser, I’m more excited than ever to get my hands on it. Unfortunately, I was denied an advanced copy {ahem...still available and ready to review Atria} so I’ll have to wait for it to hit shelves. This excerpt left me intrigued and eager for more!

I have read a few Lisa Jewell books, however with this particular one I read the excerpt of it and sadly it did not catch my interest. Unfortunately not for me.
Thanks to both NetGalley and Atria Books for giving me the opportunity to read a taster of this book.

This was only an excerpt, but, gosh I'd love to now read the full book.

It's a story of stalking and murder and although I couldn't say much from the few pages I read in the excerpt, it appears to me to be another fabulous read from this accomplished author.

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK for the opportunity to get a sneak peek.

Reading this preview was like watching a movie trailer. You're totally absorbed and think you already can guess what's going on, and then snap...it's over and you're left in the dark. NEED TO GET MORE.

It's at the top of my reading list.

This excerpt included the first four chapters of the book. It was a good amount to read to get a feel for the book. I liked how there was an interview transcription included; I think it is a smart move of authors to use this method of storytelling because it is more engaging than being in characters’ heads all of the time. It gives the reader a chance to be more of an outsider, which is sometimes a nice break in a psychological thriller. Judging from what I have read, I will definitely be buying the full book! Thank you to NetGalley, Atria Books, and the author for a digital excerpt in exchange for an honest review.

I love Lisa Jewel however this story just didn't reel me in like her others.

I'm not a fan at all of stories where the school kids have crushes on their teachers.
The story line was easy to figure out and there really wasn't much suspense.

This story just seemed kind of creepy and I just wanted to get through it so I could start something else.

I have fallen in LOVE with Lisa Jewell's writing. I have read Then She Was Gone and The Third Wife this year.

I was lucky enough to read an excerpt of Watching You via NetGalley. Someone has been murdered, but I'm not sure who. Josephine "Joey" Mullen, a newly wedded woman, is living with her brother, his wife, and her new husband. She does not really love her husband, Alfie. She has also taken on a crap job. Despite these downfalls, she has also found herself attracted to her older, married neighbor.

The excerpt is a tease! I WANT more. I NEED more. Definitely getting my hands on this book asap!

After reading the description of the book, I really wanted to read it.

The best part of the description was the thought that someone was watching Joey while she watched the head teacher, the line
"Or that someone is watching you."

Obviously this part of the story is not explored in the first four chapters.
Unfortunately the story did not grab me that way I thought it would.
I'm sure the book gets better as more secrets come to light, but the suspense wasn't there in the books opening.

Loved the first 4 chapters of Watching You - I think this will prove to be yet another fantastic read from Lisa Jewell. We're thrown into the heart of the story from the start - a murder, what looks to be a possible marriage made in haste and Joey's growing obsession with her much older next-door neighbour. Can't wait to read more.
