I've picked this book up many times and tried to get into it, but I'm afraid I couldn't connect with it or the characters. I'm going to go ahead and add it to my DNF list, but I want to thank you for the opportunity to read and review it.

Unfortunately this was a DNF for me as I go through all my backlog of books to review. I couldn’t connect with the story and characters, which I think is largely due to the discrepancy between medieval setting but modern language and character-building. I kept having to remind myself of the setting and got pulled out of the story due to that.

A largely just okay fantasy story. I didn't much enjoy the way the story flowed and the way the writing is at times. I think the characters are probably the best part of this story but I wish it was more interesting overall.

This fantasy was interesting and had a likable main character but the flow of the story was a bit hard for me to stay interested at times. It wasn't bad writing or anything it just was not a style that drew me in.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I have a thing for witch and magic. Then there was a mentioned Spain and I have always wanted to go. But I am getting off track. Eva is an amazing character and she does what she has to reach her goals. That fact that she is a witch and healer makes her all the better. The adventure is fun and good. I was more then happen to go along on her journey to find what she is seeking.

Note to the publisher: I’m sorry, but this is not the review that you were expecting. My old phone broke, and all the titles that I had saved to it went too. Since NetGalley has archived the books, I am no longer able to access them. My sincerest apologies.

This book was a struggle for me. As an educator, I really try to push through novels, as so many of my kids enjoy things very different than I do. However, this novel was not something I was able to get through. The writing was competent but not fluid. I felt like I was reading in circles a few times, like the author lost track of where the story was going. Unfortunately, this book ended up in the DNF pile @ 43%.

The Cursed Girl is awesome. She’s a quirky, loving and special girl and in this book we follow her on her adventures.
The characters in this book made my heart melt, the puppy love, the loyalty.. the cute and somewhat annoying ways..
world building and ways of transportation were on point, there’s no other way to say it.

I have absolutely no idea how I’d make a review that does justice for this book, it’s awesomeness definitely doesn’t shine through in my review

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for a free e-book to review

I struggled with this as I found the pace of the book quite stilted and slow a lot, it would pick up pace but then become slow again. I found the characterisation could be improved, I found it hard to empathise with some of the characters. I did find the story interesting and it had promise, just think a little work on the pace and characters and it would be a lot better.

I loved the book as a whole. But felt the title The title did not fit the story and the story was a bad girl and her mother and best friend who were witches that travel from the human world to the White Lane which land I don’t see where Eva was cursed, The Cursed Girl is the name of the book however I don’t see were Eva was cursed. Eva was very good friends and Alec and Jonathan and she ended up marrying Jonathan. I don’t understand why Jonathan die by accidental Bow & arrow shooting I mean that was just really weird and it really was out of context with the whole story also the whole issue with the princess and you were actually being in the heir of the throne in the witch world was very out of the story line. The ending chapters just were Frustrating.

I was not a fan of the writing style. It was too plain, almost childlike: not what I expected for a YA book. The premise of the novel sounded promising, but unfortunately I was unable to make myself read more of it.

The Cursed Girl packs in much to enjoy for readers of this genre, young adult and older readers alike. The story is as stirring and magical as its polished cover promises.
