This was a bit better than The Twelve-Month Marriage Deal, although still unfortunately fast with no character depth and little motivation. Because the plot is so quick and shallow and the characters distant, I can't think of a situation in which to recommend this-- adults working on reading or language skills wouldn't be any more drawn in by this; although it may be more accessible to them, that wouldn't make it more enjoyable.

I think I say the same thing about all the Harlequin manga comics. I love how the illustrations bring the stories to life. The stories on their own are fantastic and some of them I've read in the book version, some I haven't. For the ones I haven't, the manga comic version always makes me want to go back and read them again to get more depth and detail, however, that does not take away from my enjoyment of the manga comic version. I love the illustrations. Some of them are utterly gorgeous.

I enjoyed the story but the overall plot was extremely rushed. Which really contradicts beginning. I feel like it was a story that needed a little more time for the main characters to recognize their love. The art style was nice.

A Daring Proposition tells the story of Samantha and Guy. Samantha is Guy’s secretary, and she’s been in love with him for 5 years. Guy never really noticed Samantha until one day changes everything…

A Daring Proposition is yet another amazing manga. I’m really loving these manga books because they’re so quick and cute. I really like that the story is so fast paced and I see myself enjoying all of these manga books!

I really like how A Daring Proposition ended and I cannot wait to read the other Harlequin manga!

The premise for this seemed super interesting but i just could not finish this., The artwork was really good and the story progression was done really well but this story wasn't for me.

The story and art was okay. but doesn’t warrant a re-read. The story felt too predictable and I have not read the novel either. If you’re looking to kill time, read it perhaps but don’t expect too much.

Cute graphic and sweet romance. Guy and Samantha were too adorable. There romance made me laugh and cry. Loved the ending.

Beautiful artwork and a decent story, made this book a lovely read (and a quick one for me). Yoshiko Hanatsu has done a wonderful job of blending shoujo manga art and A Daring Propositions together. Though the story’s ending felt rushed. I’m not sure if the fact that its abridged that caused it or if that’s how it is in the original work.

I really want to say I enjoyed this manga. But I can't really say that. It was eah to me. I felt like I wasted a bit of my time. It was so fast paced that it was silly. They could have added a few pages to length the story and make it a bit more well paced.
IF you are going to market something as a romantic manga, make there be more romance building, and if you are going to have it tailored to older people. Make some scenes better or longer....I mean really when you read on of these 9/10 times you are hoping for something. I personally find it was not there, I lost interest in this really quick.

Book Review

Title: A Daring Proposition

Author: Yoshiko Hanatsu (Illustrator), Miranda Lee

Genre: Manga

Rating: ***

Review: In the opening of A Daring Proposition we are introduced to Samantha who is the secretary of Guy, an extraordinarily handsome and sexy CEO who she has secret feelings for, but he always dates women who are the complete opposite of her. After five years of being hopelessly in love with a man who will never notice her Sam decides to quit her job and move back home.

However, soon after Guy’s father has a heart attack and he realises that if his father dies he has no other blood relative and decides he wants a child, but he doesn’t want to hassle of marriage. So, he tasks Sam with the job of finding a woman who will have his baby but not demand anything else apart from money and she herself decides to take him up on the offer as it might be the only way she can be with him.

Despite trying Guy soon breaks off the arrangement after he begins to develop feelings for Sam and this breaks her heart and she makes plans to move back home and even finds some comfort with a childhood friend Norman. However, Guy lets his jealousy get the best of him and tries to convince her to stay when she faints. It turns out that the one time they were together was enough for Sam to become pregnant with his child and so they decide to try a relationship.

In the end, they find out that Guy’s father is going to be marrying Sam’s aunt and Guy realises the reason he dates a lot of women is that he is scared of falling in love and commitment, but he finds that he isn’t worried about these things with Sam. In the end, she finally confesses she loves him, and they decide to get married as well. While I liked the art style of this manga, the characters and the storyline was very generic, but it is a guilty pleasure read for me.

This one was actually a cute read. Samantha being in love with Guy for so long then finally she gets to make her dreams come true with no strings attached. Something is better than nothing so she says yes. And Guy turns up discovering that Samantha is not the mousy and meek secretary that he thought she was.

Good story with intriguing characters and plot full of misunderstandings!
Sam is a secretary of Guy. She's in love with him for five years and now she's done with that... but what if she would agree to a proposition of becoming his baby mother?
That will be a crazy rollercoaster but what will come from it? Check it out in that manga!

I thought this would be risque being harlequin. As much story and illustrations as any shojo manga.

I find the manga version of some old Harlequin old romance novel, the best way to go back in time a remember my adolescence when I thought that love was what they were talking about :)

Penso che queste versioni manga dei vecchi romanzi d'amore Harmony, siamo il modo perfetto per tornare indietro nel tempo alla mia adolescenza, quando pensavo davvero che l'amore fosse quello.

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

These Harlequin manga comics are great for anyone who likes a bit of manga with their romance.

This story was highly entertaining as well as being romantic. Samantha has been in love with her boss for years but he is totally oblivious to her and just sees her as his secretary. He (Guy) appreciates her work but he only has eyes for blonde women who dont have much intellectual capacity.

Samantha has had enough unrequited love and she decides to leave Sydney and go back to her hometown. When she tells Guy that she is resigning he begs and pleads with her to think again and promises to make her partner in the business. But that isn't what Samantha wants. What she wants is love.

Guy doesn't realize that Samantha is in love with him but that isn't surprising because the man is totally blind to her attraction and he really doesn't care about relationships. He is also a bit foolish. He loves women and then leaves them and he thinks that that is the way he will live for the rest of his life but he suddenly changes when his father has a heart attack.

Guy realizes that he isn't going to be young forever and one day he too will grow old and he doesn't know who he is going to pass his businesses on too so he decides he needs an heir. He wants a child of his own so he asks Samantha to find him a willing woman who would agree to have his child. Samantha is horrified obviously because she loves him and so she makes a daring position and Samantha suggests she have Guy's baby

Well of course he says yes and then comes the hard part because Samantha is in love with her boss and this could just make everything so much harder for her because he doesn't love her. But Samantha decides that having a child with Guy will be worth it.

And so they get together but Guy is under the misapprehension that Samantha has another boyfriend and when one of her high school colleagues turns up to say hello Guy is convinced that he is Samantha's boyfriend. Anyway as the story progresses the two of them have various ups and downs and some very entertaining arguments. Of course this is romance so of course the couple manage to work things out and they fall in love with each other. At last Samantha's feelings are returned and the scales fall off Guy's eyes so that he can see the love Samantha has for him.

The artwork is really good with clear expressive drawings. The story is very entertaining espcially the areguments between the couple, but best of all is that in the end the man gets his girl even if he didnt realise he needed someone lke Sam .

This book was fun to read. The perfect secretary fall for her boss and he fails to notice her until his father falls ill and he has the sudden impulse to father a child in order to set up his own family without getting married. He charges his secretary of finding him a woman, almost any woman, willing to accept his conditions and to his surprise she steps up herself… will this opportunity finally draw his attention to this much overlooked treasure or will she give up on him once and for all? Grab this book and find out!

I received this manga from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review!

Ahhh, another one of those amazing Harlequin Manga. Again, I am still not the girl who will read normal Harlequin, but if it is manga? I need them all! *grabby hands*

And this one was once again filled with all the cliche (and cheesy) stuff, but also tons of romance and ahh, it was magnificent and hilarious.

Meet Samantha, or Sam, she is Guy's secretary and doing everything for him. But she has a problem. She loves Guy in a romantic way, sadly, Guy isn't one to notice it. He has flings left and right, wooing women everywhere, but to him Sam is his secretary. Poor thing, and I can imagine that she is sick and tired of it. Then again, maybe, just maybe, she should have told him. Yes, he is an idiot that he doesn't notice her, but still, just tell him. But yeah, otherwise we wouldn't have had this story I guess. :P

The date was oh so awkward, just like their first sex was. Yep, there is a sex scene, nothing too graphic. I wonder if Sam was doing fine, holding back her needs and wants.

Guy, please, what kind of moron are you. He is all jealous because he thinks Sam is using him as a rebound. If only he knew. I did like that at one point he seemed to think that maybe Sam liked him, but he dismissed that one pretty fast, which made laugh. If only he knew, really, if only.

Sam really took the advice of her aunt to heart, and I just snorted so hard with Guy's reaction to it.

Of course, more drama in sight when a guy from Sam's past makes an appearance. Oh, yeah, more drama! Whoop! *grabs popcorn*

I am happy that we also get a bit of backstory on how these two started working, how they build from the ground up to where they are now. They make quite a team.

*snorts and laughs*Oh, dear, why not. That is so typical! No, I don't want to tell you, but I am sure, if you know how Harlequin stories go, that you can guess!

*tears up at the ending* No, I am not crying, I have something in my eye, that is all.

This was so much fun to read, I flew through it, before I knew it I was at the ending, and no I didn't cry there. Maybe! The art was also pretty nicely done, though at times Sam's designs was a bit weird to me (especially facial expressions).

All in all, I would recommend this one! If you want a fun, drama and romance-filled story with two interesting characters, be sure to read this one.
