I enjoyed this book. All of it was compelling. A lot of is was doable. It was one of those books where you take away what is helpful and let go of what isn’t. There is plenty of great ideas to freshening your and working on your relationship.

A helpful, very encouraging book. This one is just full of ways to help a wife learn new ways to bless her husband. And of course, as always, when you bless others, you are the one that receives the most blessings, so give it a try!
Definitely worth reading!

This book actually was fun to read! My husband and I will be celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary on April 8, 2019. We have 3 adult children and are empty nesters although we do have my MIL living with us.

This book has been very convicting and challenging… but in good ways. I am having fun with the challenges… if he reads this I guess he will find out what spurred some of it on. I love how this book was written to be a daily read. That it encourages you to pray for your husband daily, meditate on God’s Word, Dwell on a memory, Breathe and reflect.

I think it would make a great resource to give as a gift to a friend who needs a little nudge to Bless Her Husband!

I don't usually read many nonfiction books. I read to relax and I find fiction more relaxing than nonfiction. But when I saw Bless Your Husband by Angela Mills, I knew I wanted to read this nonfiction book. I absolutely love my husband and am always trying to find more ways to show him. I thought with a title like this book has, it is sure to have good advice! And I was right; it did, plus so much more. The book is written almost like a devotional with verses to memorize, projects to do, and many various ways to show your love and bless your husband. Mrs. Mills gives so many practical (and economical for those on a budget) ideas that you can do or say to your husband to make him feel like he's the most special person in your life, which he should be! :) But, not only will you be blessing your husband, if you incorporate her ideas into your life, you will also be blessing yourself. Because how can your marriage and your relationship with God not grow stronger when you are following biblical advice on loving your husband? I would highly recommend this book to any wife who is looking for practical, biblical ways to bless her husband while strengthening her marriage and her relationship with God.

Good suggestions for any stage of marriage. Interesting reading from a good author. These suggestions will help keep your marriage fresh and centered on each other rather than self. This book includes Bible verses and prayers to help your marriage have a true Biblical emphasis.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This is such an amazing book. I was blessed in so many ways. It was thrilling to be able to help my husband, and truly wonderful to see myself put aside my own desires for my husbands sake. The tips were practical and Biblical. I did not tell my husband I was reading this boom at first and he would come to me and say I really liked that you sat and watched the game with me. (Without looking at anything else- Something I have never done..) I couldn’t recommend this book enough to any wife. It will challenge you and bless you personally as well as your husband.

I love this book so much. I am a person who loves her husband and to be honest, I can do better at showing him how much I love and appreciate him and that's where this book comes. I'm so grateful to Angela Mills for allowing God to use her to compose this AMAZING book.

Day 1 topic is "Check Your Comfort Level", I love this because it has 10 "Yes" OR "No" questions that really opened my eyes to how much I have changed, this sections is SO helpful. I love week 1 goals, after seeing how much I have changed, these goals are just what I need to get back on track. There are memory verses that really encourages and empower each reader (it has done so for me and I'm sure it will do the same for you too).

I LOVE, LOVE WEEK 1 CHALLENGES. WOW!!! These challenges are so simple yet pack with a powerful punch. Whenever I take up this book to read, I HAVE TO TAKE UP A PEN, MY JOURNAL/PRAYER JOURNAL TO TAKE NOTES AND WRITE DOWN MY PRAYERS.

One last thing I would love to comment on: The Gratitude list. Now this here... WOW!!. Being grateful is an ASSET that we all need to posses and to be honest, I sometimes slack up.... but no more, My sister Angela Mills made sure of that (it's like she knew just what I need to enhance my marriage, myself and the way I show my love and appreciation to my husband).

Wives of many years or newly weds, this book is NEEDED in your life. If you you have a friend who's married, about to be married or courting, this is THE PERFECT BOOK GIFT... Grab yourself a copy and another copy for a friend. You won't regret your purchase

Bless Your Husband
By Angela Mills
To be fair I did not get to finish this book prior to giving my review and judgement upon it. I will say however that what I have read has been great. I have read the days devotionals myself but at times I shared them with my husband as a discussion opener. I also shared different parts with my two sons (3yrs and 7yrs) in order to discuss how to show love to others. I think that the daily devotionals are to the point and easy to translate into your day-to-day routine. Each week provides a memory verse to work on, a weekly goal, personal challenges to complete, a prayer prompt, thoughts for meditation, a thought to reflect on, something to relate with, and reflection. It sounds like a lot as I write this out but it is actually manageable and you go through it faster then you think (don’t rush though). The daily devotions were short enough to read and digest easily, while the challenges presented cause you to ponder on them throughout your day and week. I have really enjoyed this devotional as it has led me to some great reflection time personally and for my marriage.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Other books I've read with similar promises have been chocked full of cheesy ideas or so complimentarian they are hard to handle. Angela's book was a present surprise. Her challenges are doable and surprisingly realistic. She did a great job of painting an honest picture of marriage. There were some ideas I didnt necessarily agree with, but that was to be expected. I felt like it was a book I could glean from and put into practice.

For whatever reason, it took me a while to get in to this book. I grew up around the principals in the introduction. The challenges for week one wouldn't, for various reasons, bless my husband all that much. They just aren't things he'd enjoy. However as I went along, I was increasingly positively challenged by the book. I read through quickly and am planning on going back and actually implementing the challenges. I will say that the format of this book does not lend itself to a quick read through, but is perfect for actually taking the time to do the multi-week challenges. I enjoyed the way the book seemed grounded in Scripture and thought that tricky subjects were handled with care and grace.

The two bonus challenges at the end had great ideas - bigger things for your husband and bigger character areas of contentment and selflessness - but seemed far too big to fit into a single week. Tomes and tomes have been written on contentment and while we all need to be striving for it, I personally don't feel like a single week focusing on it will make me that much more content. It needs more time. The same goes for selflessness.

I also felt that the book missed a few places to root imperatives, those things we ought to or could be doing, in the indicatives of who we are in Christ. Sometimes I wanted to see that doing a hard thing to bless my husband was possible, even though it doesn't feel possible, because I am united to Christ. To me that's always the most compelling motivation to do anything good and godly. I realize this book isn't primarily about theology, so maybe I'm asking for something this book wasn't intended to do, but it would have been a nice addition.

Practical advice from the Scriptures

My rating is 4.5 stars

Bless Your Husband is written as a multi-week challenge, requiring just a few minutes reading a day and a lifetime of change. My plan was to read through once, and then if the suggestions were useful, to go back from the beginning and actually go through the challenge day by day. So my review won’t talk about how this book changed my marriage for the simple reason that I haven’t implemented a single thing I read.

I liked the way the book was arranged. Being set up to only take a few minutes a day to figure out what can be done for the day is perfect for women with full schedules. Which is pretty much all of us, right? While the time required to read through daily is easy, the thoughts behind them are not. They are challenging. The Biblical principles are solid and the message is important. Don’t pick this up because you want to learn how to manipulate your husband. Or God. Or put on an act. Unless you approach it with a goal of changing your heart and your heart alone, you will have missed the point!

Not all of the recommendations will apply to every wife, nor could they. Some suggestions are specifically geared toward a stay-at-home wife, which I’m not. But there are plenty of other options that would work for me and my circumstances.

Am I glad I got this book? Yes. Will I actually go through the challenges? I hope to. Do I recommend it for other wives? Absolutely. May the Lord use this to transform my heart and my marriage and may He do the same for you.

Remember those first few months of marriage when you wanted to do everything you could to make your man happy? You made his favorite dinner, wore the clothes he liked best, and said nice things to him every day. I know that real life happens. We have kids. Sometimes we get sick or tired. We just get used to each other, and love and marriage just aren’t as magical as they were in those early days.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. In her first book, Bless Your Husband, Angela Mills gives ladies a plan for restoring some of the giddy love that filled those first days of marriage. This isn’t a plan to make your husband love you more, treat you better or recognize what a wonderful wife you are. It’s a way to do just exactly what the title says, and bless your husband.

The pages are filled with ideas to do a little (or sometimes big) thing for your man. But rather than change his attitude or behavior, these challenges will more than likely change yours. While we as wives are called to serve, our human flesh fights against that. Many times we’d rather have our husband’s serve us. But this challenge is all about him.

In addition to the challenges, there are a lot of thought-provoking questions to help you understand where your strengths and weaknesses are in your marriage. It also includes assessment to help you see if you’re too comfortable around your husband, and maybe need to change your ways a little. There are also specific prayers to pray for your husband. This alone can change your view of him, and the responsibilities he carries for your family.

I love this book, and I highly recommend it for people in all stages of married life. It can work for the newlywed, as well as someone who has been married for many years. It can also help you if your marriage has hit a rough patch, if you’re determined to get back on track. I do recommend the print version, because there are journaling prompts, and questions you can answer right in the book.

Good food for thought especially about those small, daily interactions that if not addressed can add up to bigger frustrations and arguments. I'm also reminded that I don't always have a servants heart or attitude but I'm working on it.

I have been struggling how best to describe this book. I love the weekly bible verses (that focus on my personal relationship with God), and the challenges that help you connect with, love on, and support your husband.

The design of this books takes it from interesting concepts to applicable actions. I want to go through book more carefully and set up and personal journal dedicated to blessing my husband.

I enjoyed the book and found it inspirational, I found myself getting excited as I thought about the fact that tomorrow is my 6th wedding anniversary and "Bless Your Husband" is the perfect resource to help our marriage continually get better.

I am not married but I requested this book so I could be proactive and learn ways to be a good wife. I thought this book was excellent! It gave practical real life ways I can bless my future husband. And even more importantly it gave insight into how a man's brain works and what a husband needs from his wife in order to feel loved and have a successful marriage. I enjoyed this book and will be keeping it as a reference!
