Review by 2shay..........

I have tried and tried to find something in this book to like. I even snuck a peek at some Goodreads reviews to find what I might be missing. So, I know that I will probably be the only reviewer who doesn’t love this book. I’m sorry. I just...don’t.

I’m a pretty devoted football fan. I was excited to see an author’s vision of how football would evolve into a global sport in the future. What I found was annoyingly pretentious language. I understood the words, but the way they were phrased kept me detached from the story. Most distracting was having sports casters talking like college English professors addressing a classroom of freshmen. No. I didn’t believe that. Football will always be football. I can’t believe that future sports casters will all have English degrees.

I know that when reading futuristic, apocalyptic or paranormal stories that belief has to be temporarily suspended. I do that with abandon. Again, I’m sorry. I had to DNF this one. If, however, you can get past the peacock feather language, pick up a copy and...

Enjoy! ARC graciously provided by Star Born Publishing and NetGalley for an honest and voluntary review.

Book is about the formation of a international football league and sportswriter, Marcum. The sportwriter uncovers a dark secret about the league. Book is a great thriller and an easy read. Looking forward to Perkins next book.
