My first impression was that the premise is very very similar to a lot of books I've heard about. Nothing unique, but still somewhat interesting. I was definitely wrong-- it was super unique and I really really liked it!

This is the first book i have read by Stephen Edger and certainly wont be my last. This book was an absolute belter. It was faced paced from the very first chapter and continued throughout. Loved the characters in this book and it was so well written. Loads of great twists and throughout the book i was constantly changing my mind on who the suspect was. Didn't see that end coming!! Great work Stephen.

This is a great read. There is a lot going on in this much more than the initial plot line of a little girl going missing. Twisty & Turny sums up the book. Great characters and an intriguing insight into how people perceive each other. How do our loved ones and friends really see us and can we trust anyone?

Thanks Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for the ARC of this beautiful novel.

This is a gripping novel that I couldn't put down.
It's addictive and took me on an emotional rollacoaster where I was shocked, sacred and breathless all at the same time.

This is a highly recommended book for all fans of psychological thrillers.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to readand review this book.

Immediately you are swept into this thriller when a small child disappears from her carseat as a rnother turns her back momentarily to pay for a spot in a parking lot. One would think the mother, Alex, would be receiving compassion and support from husband, Ray, a police detective. However, their marriage is unsettled resulting from complications that began months before the child’s abduction.
This book is well written and at times it is hard to tell friend from foe. That will keep one reading to the final pages to discover the real villain.

A woman leaves her daughter in the car momentarily whilst she gets a parking ticket and when she returns to the car her daughter has gone.
But, she hasn't been taking her medication recently so was her daughter even in the car in the first place? And, if so, who would wish to abduct her?
Who to believe and who to trust?
I found the characters interesting and raced through the book to find out the ending.

This was a stunning read. It’s interesting from the first page. I’ll admit it’s a little slow to start but it’s a rewarding read. My heart broke for the parents as I read this book and it almost scared me as parent myself. I think the most avid reader would have a hard time figuring this one out with all its twists and turns. A truly brilliant book. I was apprehensive when I first picked this book because is feared it would be similar to Her Last Miskate but it was nothing like that! I lived in fear as I read each page of this book. It was an intense reading experience that made my head hurt at times. This is a beautifully crafted thriller, a masterpiece. It is an all consuming book, that keeps you on the edge all the time. The ending is a clever one that could not have been written any better. This is a book one should not miss!
Thank you NetGalley, Harper and Killer Books for giving me this ARC for my unbiased review.

Little Girl Gone by Stephen Edger was a brilliant read. A book will keep you gripped and has lots of twists and turns and will keep you guessing till the end.

Alex Granger parked her car in a open carpark. Checked if Carol-Ann was was two years old was safely strapped in her toddler chair, locked the car door and put the car alarm on. Then, ran to get a parking ticket, checking on the car whilst she was getting the ticket. The car alarm sounds, Alex sees no one around her car and and the area and turns the car alarm off.
Alex was gone for a few minutes - not even that............But that all it Took!!!!

This was a book full of suspense with lots of twists and turns and I didn't see the ending coming, excellently written with a lot of detail and a story that tugged on your emotions. A lot happened in this book but it all came together and made sense at the end, glad I read and will read more from this author in the future.

There’s three sides to every story - his, her’s and the truth. This was pretty good. They way it’s told is clever. You hear one character’s view and in the next chapter you hear the other’s. In this case Alex and Ray, whose marriage is not in a great place after a miscarriage. Through these chapters you see that they are not on the same page.

The opening is powerful; it really grabbed me. There are quite a few twists and surprises. There is also a decent suspect pool to choose from. Did I see where the ending was going? Nope, not one bit. It was an interesting reveal in that I haven’t seen this one played out for a child abduction scenario so I appreciated that. But it left me a bit sad at the tragedy of it all. I would read more by this author.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Harper Impulse and Killer Reads for a copy in exchange for a review.

Alex is driving in the rain with her two-year-old daughter, Carol-Anne, to drop her at the creche before heading for a job interview. Finding the last parking place, it turns out to be not close to the parking meter. Rather than take Carol-Anne out in the rain, she locks the doors while she runs to pay the parking fee. Returning a couple of minutes later, she is shocked to find that Carol-Anne has vanished. In a panic, she calls her husband, Detective Sergeant, Ray Granger, to come help her. Quickly, Alex is surrounded by members of the police doing all they can to find Carol-Anne. Both parents are frantic.

Alex and Ray have had some marital problems lately and both are having a difficult time trying to comfort each other. Ray has been told by his boss that as the father of the missing child, he is not allowed to participate in the search for Carol-Anne which frustrates him. He decides to do some sleuthing on his own.

A Family Liaison Officer is sent by the police to stay with Alex and care for the family. The officer keeps up-to-date with the search and conveys what she can to Alex as Ray is not home with her.

But when Alex receives a rhyming email about Carol-Anne from an unknown person, things appear to be even more dire than thought and time is short.

There are a lot of police procedures depicted in this book which can seem to be filler, but I found it to be quite educational. This story is one that will keep readers guessing who the kidnapper is, if there truly is one. Good action and angst in this book and one that I know readers will enjoy.

I like Stephen Edgers books so was looking forward to reading this. I wasn’t disappointed. It grips you from the first page and has you on the edge of your seat biting your nails until the end which I have to say I didn’t guess this time. It is suspenseful and keeps you reading, both parents have their own demons but will do anything to get their daughter back. An enjoyable read and one I would recommend if you like this genre of book. Bring on the next one Stephen!!

Wow what a stunning book! Drew me in from the first page and kept my interest until it spat me out at the end exhausted and exhilarated from the drama, tension, action and suspense. This was so cleverly written to conceal the bad guy I would never have guessed the ending in a million years.

I am a massive fan of Stephen Edger and this book didn’t disappoint, it was a brilliantly written psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails anxiously waiting on news of Carol-Ann. Will they find her before it’s too late? You will have to buy they book to find out!

I am going to award it a big fat 5 stars, it probably deserves a 6 or 7, I enjoyed it that much. Would make a great Christmas gift for a love of crime and psychological fiction.

I've lost count of the number of psychological thrillers that use the missing child trope and then play on the natural instincts of the parents to do anything to retrieve their child. That said, this is one of the better ones. From the very beginning the level of tension was high and the writing engaging enough to keep you reading and finishing in one suspenseful sitting. Each twist is more shocking than the last and lots of misdirection/red herrings ensured a nail-bitingly good read. Due to the tightly plotted story, it had me hook, line and sinker, with a variety of possible suspects and the dropping of subtle clues which kept me guessing over and over. None of the characters are really likeable but I don't need affable characters in my crime fiction to be satisfied. Despite mother Alex being incredibly irritating at times I did feel for her given the situation, she found herself in.

Edger is a skilled writer and has produced a novel that packs a real emotional punch. The fast pace and short chapters force you to read just one more before retiring to bed. The author broaches some serious topics throughout Little Girl Gone - love, rape, loss, child abduction, miscarriage, cheating and mental health are the ones that immediately come to mind. This is a quick, easy and compelling read but don't doubt Edger's masterful ability to weave an intricate, unpredictable and eminently readable story. What will happen when the facade of a perfectly loving family shatters? Oh, and that ending!

Many thanks to Harper Impulse and Killer Reads for an ARC.

She was away for 2 minutes..

An abducted child is a horror that is one of parents' many nightmares. When Alex Granger goes to retrieve a parking ticket leaving her 2-year-old daughter, Carol-Anne secure in a car seat in an alarmed car, she has no idea that her life is about to be upended. Alex returns to the car to find her daughter gone. Her first call is to her husband, Ray, a detective sergeant, though he doesn't answer his phone immediately, but soon shows up at the scene and has a lot of questions that will need to be handled by another member of the police as Ray is forbidden from participation in the case. But all is not as it should be between husband and wife so they can't offer each other comfort. Then Alex gets an email from "Simon" telling her exactly what she must do if she wants her daughter to be returned. NO SPOILERS

This was a bit of domestic drama with a crime/police procedural bent. A lot going on including Ray investigating a robbery ring instead of staying home with his wife and the FLO. Of course they have no idea who Simon is and Alex is under suspicion of doing harm to her own child. I found most of this book to stretch my ability to suspend disbelief to the max and the reveal came out of nowhere as to the kidnapper's identity. I must say that I didn't like ANY of the characters in this book which made it hard to stay with it. The narrative flips between Alex and Ray and each has issues and they don't talk to each other. The things they both do, especially Alex, make no sense in light of their situation -- or at least they didn't to me. I did finish reading it but the story didn't live up to my anticipation given the premise and the synopsis. Family dysfunction trumped suspense thriller and the epilogue...umm NO.

Thank you to NetGalley and Killer Reads for the e-book ARC to read and review.

I did enjoy this although had guessed the perpetrator right from the start which did negate a little of the tension. However, I continued to see how things would be resolved. Worth a read.

As a mother to a toddler, these types of stories terrifies me, yet I love a good psychological thriller so I continue to read them. To my knowledge I have never read a book by Stephen Edger before, but that will change, I loved his style of writing and this story kept me guessing until the very end.

Alex is a doting mother to 2 yr old Carol-Anne, traumatised following a miscarriage Alex is trying to keep her life together when suddenly Carol-Anne is snatched from the car. Is this a random snatching or had something more sinister occurred.

Well written, terrifying and everything you want from a psychological thriller.
