Pageturner alert!
After suffering a breakdown following a miscarriage, Alex dotes on her little girl, two year old Carol-Anne.
But all comes crashing down when her daughter is snatched from the car. In frantic mode she contacts her police officer husband Ray and a search is on the way.
All this on the first few pages tells me I'm in for a wild ride!
And it is. Alex at home with a family liaisons officer, Ray taken off the case but still hanging around the precinct, the police enquiry making slow progress, vicious cyber bullying.
Is Carol-Anne really abducted or is there more to the story?
The vivid scenes and fast pace keep me glued to the pages. Lots of twists add to the excitement.
Short chapters make it easy to follow the small group of characters and read 'just one more'. Before I know it I'm halfway through, unable to put this book down.
The relationship between Alex and Ray is quite sad. Although being married, they live seperate lives under one roof, hardly knowing each other anymore. The few people in their circle come across as shallow and superficial. There's no safety net.
Meanwhile more suspects are brought forward.
The possibilities are explored from all angles and dots are connected. This whirlwind of events takes until the very end before the final twist brings the story to a halt. Didn't see that coming!
Little Girl Gone is a gem of a thriller. Very well crafted and highly recommended.

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare. Alex Granger only turned her back for a moment when her two-year-old daughter, Carol-Anne, vanished into thin air. Alex’s husband Ray is a detective, so he’s used to dealing with horrific cases. But nothing could have prepared him for this. With no suspects, no DNA evidence and no promising leads, the investigation stalls. Then Alex receives a note, telling her exactly what to do if she wants to see her daughter again… And Alex must ask herself, is she really prepared to do anything to save her child?

Little girl gone by Stephen edger is a story told from two perspectives. The first one being Alex and the second perspective is Ray, Alex's husband. Going back and forth between the two parents made for an interesting read. I really thought I knew who the kidnapper was but once I found out I was shocked! Great book that keeps you gripped the whole way through!

You are going for an interview, your two year old daughter is strapped in the back. You drive into a car park. Get out to buy a ticket, your daughter is safe locked in the back of the car. When you get back to the car your daughter is gone. This is the story of what happens next. It is a real page turner and is told by the two main characters Alex and Ray mum and dad. They are both dealing with problems already. When an email arrives saying we have your daughter the tension really ramps up. I could not put this down.
How far would you go to to get what you want ? I always challenge myself when reading a crime thriller to try and guess the perpetrator before they are revealed and boy did I get this one so wrong. This is the mark of a really good writer. An excellent crime thriller almost five stars.
I would like to thank the author Stephen Edger, Harper Impulse and Killer Reads and Net.galley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for giving an honest review.

Well this sure was one heck of a good read the pace just kept racking up just leaving me breathless to finish the book to find out what was going to happen. It was fast paced right from the start with a wonderful cast of characters that were so believable and very well written, the short chapters made for a real page turner and its a clever book that can send you off in the wrong direction so it makes for brilliant thrilling read.and I loved it. Well recommended and my thanks to Netgalley and Harper Impulse and Killer Reads for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book is very cleverly written and the writers skill really comes to the fore. It starts off with Alex going for a job interview and it’s pouring with rain and she leaves her child CarolAnne in the car whilst she buys a parking ticket. Then she gets back to the car and the child is gone. Her husband Ray, who is a detective is not allowed to investigate himself, and because of something in Alex’s past they doubt her story, then she gets an email.

The story twists and turns, and like a slippery eel just when you think you know who it is, the perpetrator slips out of your hand and you don’t have a clue. I was really surprised at the ending, which had an almighty twist, and it was a twist too. I read this in a day it was that good.

My thanks to the author and to Netgalley for the ARC.

Stephen Edger is an author that I never hesitate to read. Little Girl Gone is a brilliant book that had me hooked from the very beginning right until til the very last page.the characters were so realistic and relatable, although not always likeable. A story of a missing girl that is frightening for any parent, but one that I could not put down.

Alex Granger turns her back for just a moment but in that time her daughter Carol-Anne disappear she from her car. There is nobody around, no CCTV and no DNA and police, including her own husband Ray struggle to find her. Then Alex receives an email from the kidnapper with his demands.... but how far would you get to save your child.

Thank you to Stephen Edger, Harper Impulse- Killer Reads and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased

DNF. I did not finish this book. I found it lacked the suspense and thrills necessary in this genre of fiction.

4 stars.

Wow this was excellent! I had my suspicions on who the kidnapper was but nothing concrete which just made me like this story even more. It wasnt easy to predict what was going on as there were many paths that this story could have gone down. Missing/Kidnapped children stories are my favourite in the Crime, Mystery, Thriller genre and this did not disappoint. I wasn't such a fan of Alex, the main character. I just didnt click with her although I could empathise with her situation. This story was gripping from beginning to end and I would definitely recommend it.

Every parent's worse nightmare is about to come true in the latest psychological thriller by Stephen Edger. Alex Granger turns her back for just two minutes and when she looks back her two-year-old daughter has disappeared. Snatched in broad daylight from her car in a deserted car park, in a car that Alex is sure she has locked. Will her husband, Detective Ray Granger, offer her the support she needs or will he start to suspect that she has caused harm to their child?

Well, what a twisted rollercoaster ride of a read that was! Plenty of little clues and red herrings to keep all armchair detectives satisfied as the hunt for two-year-old Carol Anne gets underway. As a parent, it was easy to find myself thinking about the plot from Alex's point of view, how many times have we all just looked away for a minute? But there was something about her that irritated me too.  I didn't blame her for what had happened, I just found it very difficult to like her as an individual. And as for that husband of hers, well, maybe he was the one who caused her all the mental anguish in the first place! I really wanted to give him what for! But, I've said it before, I don't have to like characters, they just have to provoke a reaction in me and these two certainly did! I swung from pity to empathy to irritation towards them both but I think out of both of them Ray definitely would have got the sharp end of my tongue had I met him! There are scenes describing Alex's mental instability which causes you to really start to wonder if she has been telling the truth all along. A number of suspects are dangled in front of you and some of them are extremely surprising but even as the book went on, the twists and turns kept on coming all the way through.

This book was part police procedural, part psychological thriller and despite my misgivings about the couple, I'd really like to see them feature again as the way the story was left there is a potential for more to come from them. Revenge, betrayal and loss all feature in this tightly plotted and terrifically twisted read! Did they find their daughter, do they all live happily ever after - well I guess you will just need to go and read it to find out!

Review will be posted on my blog for Publication Day

OMG, Little Girl Gone is one hell of a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. It's a gripping thriller that holds the reader in a vice like grip that's so tight you sometimes find yourself struggling to breath. That's when you actually get an opportunity to remember to breath which is not very often due to the short, snappy chapters and non stop action.

Alex Granger had only turned her back for a moment,at least she`s fairly certain it was only a moment. But that moment was all it took for her world to be destroyed. Her two year old daughter Carol Anne has vanished into thin air.

Alex`s Husband Ray is a detective,so he is used to dealing with horrific cases but due to his personal connection with the missing child,he is forbidden from aiding the inquiry.

With no suspects,no DNA and no promising leads the investigation stalls. Then Alex receives an email telling her exactly what she needs to do if she wants to see her daughter again. As the deadline for her daughter's safe return swiftly approaches Alex must ask herself,is she really prepared to do anything to save her daughter.

Little Girl Gone is a intricately plotted, character driven psychological thriller that is told in chapters that alternate between Alex and Ray`s points of view. Alex`s panic and fear when she discovered that Carol Anne had disappeared seemed genuine but once the reader started to learn about her psychological issues you began to doubt Alex`s version of events. Despite her issues Alex definitely had more redeemable qualities than her Husband Ray who despite being a very good Detective was not a very likeable character. There was numerous suspects who may or may not have been involved in Carol Anne's disappearance,I think I suspected everyone at one point as this fast paced thriller unfolded before my eyes. What had happened to Carol Anne? Was Alex involved in her disappearance? Who was sending the terrifying messages to Alex, was she sending them to herself or getting someone to send them to her? Was Carol Anne still alive?

This absolutely AMAZING book has short, snappy chapters, many of which end on a cliff hanger and give the reader a very bad case of Just one more chapter syndrome. I was hooked in from the first page, frantically turning the pages, totally enthralled by the author`s mesmerising storytelling. I honestly didn't want to put this book down. I would love to watch a film version of this book. I think it's worth far more than five stars. Very, very good book and highly recommended by little old me.

This novel is based on every parent's worst nightmare: you turn away from your child for a few seconds and she disappears. Ray and Alex's marriage is already on shaky ground so when two-year-old Carol-Anne is taken from her car, Alex is understandably frantic. Fortunately Ray is a detective but he is frozen out of the investigation as he is too close to it. Alex's mental state comes into question as her past reveals some sketchy details about her parenting abilities. But when the kidnapper demands Alex kill someone to get her little girl back, things get even dicier and seem to spin out of control. This is a thrill ride from beginning to end with lots of red herrings along the way!

WOW what a head spinner.... what would you do if you're 2 year old daughter was snatched, you only looked away for a minute, but that is all that it took... with no evidence, cctv, dna to go on and no ransom note, who took little Carol-Anne and why?

This is every parent's worse nightmare but for Alex Granger, it was not a nightmare but reality, her husband Alex is a detective and he has been frozen out of the investigation, while the case is focusing on Alex covering up murdering her daughter, are they nearer to the truth than they realise or is there something more sinister at play?

With so many lies coming to the forefront, can Alex keep it together for the sake of her child? My heart was in my mouth reading this book being a parent myself and I questioned myself, how far would I go to get my child back? Chillingly gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist that will leave you dizzy, this is a must read in my opinion and worthy of the 5 stars.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Harper Impulse and Killer Reads for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
