Having read the wife between us i could not turn down the opportunity to read this book and boy am i glad i didnt!

i devoured this book in one sitting! i could not stop reading. again the author sets the scene and captures the characters perfectly!

these authors have some serious writing chemistry and i hope this continues as it is pure brilliance!

the book was a page turner and the plot was excellent. keeping me hooked the whole way through.
never a dull moment or a part that shouldn't have been there. everything written was needed and welcomed and not unnecessary at all. i find sometimes there can be some drivvle to feel pages and these authors do not need this they gave us exactly what we needed. no more no less

A dark and twisted tale that doesn’t feel depressing. A woman trying to find her way and led down a path of destruction. I’m not sure I’m happy with the ending and I read an ARC so plenty of typos which made it that little bit harder particularly from the Drs entries, it was in a very clinical format and also led to confusion as to who the narrator was to begin with whenever it changed.
I did like Jess and found her to be relatable but Dr Shields was too robotic and unrealistic.
The book was enjoyable and I read through at a speedy pace and will look out for future published books from these authors.

Loved this book, couldn't put it down! So many twists and turns that constantly kept me guessing ... a brilliant psychological thriller.

I absolutely loved the wife between us and was so looking forward to this new book and it really did not disappoint.

This book had me hooked from the first chapter. I read a lot of novels that are the same genre as this one and to be honest, i was starting to think that they were all the same. However, this one had a fresh approach and i really enjoyed it.

The concept was extremely clever.

I really enjoyed this novel.

There were typos in the book - it was poorly edited but i cannot fault the storyline for this.

One of those books where I had problems identifying with the main characters. Having two narrators made it difficult to follow and the amount of misspellings and typing errors compounded the problem. Sorry not for me.

When Jessica foisted herself on to a study/experiment, after seeing its details on a client’s phone, she got a lot more than she bargained for! There then follows a very bizarre tale of obsession and manipulation where nothing is to get in the way of the desired end - nothing. It took a while to get into how this book works, not helped by the stilted narrative by the other main character, who manages to make the speaking clock sound lively! A thrill a page it isn’t, but does have one or two moments, especially towards the end. None of the three main characters have much going for them, being devious and unlikeable. Loved the idea of this story and read it with eyes agog at the goings on from supposed professionals.

I previously read and loved The Wife Between Us and was quick to snap up An Anonymous Girl when I saw it on Netgalley, a decision which I do not regret in the slightest. This is a fabulous thrill, which is excellently written and developed. It keeps you on the edge of your seat right until the last page, and I would recommend this for any fans of The Wife Between Us.

This is an excellent read and well worth the time invested. Get yourself a cuppa and put your feet up and prepare to still be there several hours later with a cold drink and a thirst! Initially I wasn’t sure about this as I don’t like books with "girl" in the title when the character is long past puberty but I’m glad I opted to overcome my prejudice in this case. This is a complex, clever and well written thriller. For long periods, it is impossible to work out who is telling the truth and who can be trusted.

Jess steps into a psychological study in place of someone else because she thinks it’ll be easy money... but very soon she is trapped by a manipulative woman who... well I’m not going to say any more... you need to get this and see for yourself. But blank out an evening and maybe have someone bring refreshments...

Recommended if you’re looking for a mystery that’s a little bit different.

As much as I liked the wife between us, it took me several attempts to get into an anonymous girl. Reading about it again and again and seeing the Ravi g reviews made me persist. The first few pages are amazing and make you want more, maybe more than what can be delivered throughout most of the book. It is a decent read but nothing mind-blowingly original or life changing. I would qualify it as a good beach read but not much more unfortunately.

Having picked up their first book up on holiday last year I saw this one available to request and admittedly it has taken me a while to get round to.
It was really enjoyable, you couldnt help yourself getting lost and at times a bir confused at the story. It could be because there were no names at the tops of chapters making it hard to distinguish and you realised half way through the chapter.
Great read if you want to immerse yourself in a story and get lost.
So many twists and turns you wont know where you are.

Well .... I see so many good reviews and yet personally I’m like .... what’s so special about it ... it was ok. I found the main character a bit boring and also the whole thing wasn’t overly believable. Maybe I expected better ... I’ve not read their first book, so no influence there ... it was just OK .... if anything I found it a bit uneventful I guess. Maybe I’ve just read way too many of these type of books but I wasn’t surprised nor blown away by this one. I didn’t not enjoy it though ... it held my interest just not as much as I thought it would.

I don't like starting a review on a negative point; however there were several typing errors which is distracting and annoying when they are mistakes that should have easily been picked up (for instance several words that should have "ff" but only have "f") or words missing or duplicated in sentences. If you can overlook this then the book is a great read.

Jessica works as a freelance make up artist and relys heavily on the job to pay her own bills but also her sisters medical bills. Overhearing a conversation at a clients house about a questionnaire that pays $500 - she can't resist but to blag her way onto the list. The first sessions are answering questions on a computer about morals and Jessica finds herself revealing some of her deepest secrets. After a few sessions Dr Shields invites her to increase her involvement within the study that will include practical activities and she readily agrees until a few things start to make her feel unsure. She starts digging around to find out just who exactly Dr Lydia Shields is. Dr Shields is in full control of the activities Jessica has to do and makes it clear that she is watching her during these "tests".
Things start to take a more sinister turn when Lydia's husband, Thomas is added to the mix and he realises what Jessica is involved with - he tries warning Jessica to be careful but is he really all he seems to be?

This is a story of one woman's obsession with her husband who will go to whatever lengths are needed to protect him and get their marriage back to the way it used to be. A great book that keeps you wondering who to trust, who knows what about the study and is just how far are they willing to go.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this and thank you Netgalley for the opportunity of reading this first.

This in itself is unethical as Jess wasn't officially invited, but manoeuvred her way in. But, what the heck, what could be easier than answering a few questions? $500 the first day, and more for each day she returns.

She sits at a desk, alone in a large room, with no sign of Dr Shields, the psychiatrist conducting the research. And so it begins. Initially all she has to do is answer the questions put to her, but gradually things get tougher and she is expected to do more than she is comfortable with. It's as if Dr Shields knows her secrets. Does Jess pull out? No of course not. She wants the money, but now she's in way over her head.

Sloppy writing and irritating characters let this down. Hard to believe that it took two authors to write this and neither one of them spotted the mishmash of timelines. It's all a little far-fetched with an ending that just fizzles out.

An okay read for a lazy day with nothing else to do, but after that it's instantly forgettable.

I absolutely devoured this book, intriguing, disturbing, unique, fascinating characters.....everything you would want in a good read! I had read and loved the previous book and loved this, excellent and thank you!

Switching between two viewpoints throughout this is an absorbing engrossing and frequently chilling read. A simple setup - Jess impulsively getting involved in a clinical psychological research trial on morality and ethics but finds herself deeper than she realises in Dr Shield’s manipulative and controlling world. Lies and doubts and duplicity scattered everwhere. The strong character of Dr Shields dominates whilst Jess initially naive and frankly easy to manipulate proves to be a worthy adversary. Totally engrossing and absorbing.

Wow what a fabulous read. I had read all the hype and this was well justified. A fantastic psychological thriller-brilliantly written. A page-turner that certainly is a page turner-not to be missed. Recommended without a doubt.

It starts with a seemingly random NYU psychiatrist’s study (on ethics and morality, ironically) that struggling Manhattan make-up artist Jessica lies her way into. The psychiatrist is Dr. Lydia Sheilds, a wealthy, successful, intelligent and elegant woman, and Jessica laps up the attention she bestows on her. Still reeling from various hardships life has thrown her way, Jessica is naïve and eager for money, so when the stakes are raised and she is asked to give more for the survey, allowing Dr. Sheilds to gain more insight into her personal life, trouble is afoot.

I don't want to say a whole lot more about the plot because it so deliciously dark and exciting, that it is best enjoyed going in blind. As Dr. Sheild's second-person narrative interweaves with Jessica's first person, we are taken on a gripping, gasp-worthy rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns. The pace is furious but perfect, and the novel exploits the dual character perspectives for maximum tension and impact. The character development is excellent and the plot is brilliantly weaved. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen have done it again. A suspenseful and deeply satisfying psychological thriller. 4.5 stars.
