This was a fun sports romance as Christian, a hockey stud, is trying to lead his new team, the expansion New York team, the Nighthawks. What he doesn’t need is a distraction, but he can’t help falling for the sexy confidence of the mouthy blonde he encounters at a gas station.

Serena Ellis is unlike any other woman he’s encountered and she’s not at all impressed with his status as a two-time Stanley Cup winner who is also regarded as one of the sexiest athletes around. She has rejected her family’s wealthy, but cold background to strike on her own to design fashions for women no matter their sizes or shapes. She can’t believe this famous, hunky sports star is sincerely interested in her, but Christian seems to have really fallen for her.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Who would ever think their life could change with something so simple as stopping for gas and a drink, but with a slight collision between Chris and Serena both of their worlds were turned upside down.

Ice Hot is a fun story story to read, I had a great afternoon spent loosing myself in this book and it's amazing characters.

This was the first novel I have read by this author, but it won't be the last. I loved it! I love sports romances and romantic comedies. This novel had a little bit of both. This novel sucked me in from the very first page and did not let go until the very last. I loved the chemistry between Chris and Serena. It was so good! I loved the dialogue and the banter. For me, a great novel can make you smile, laugh out loud and leave you with a smile in your heart and happy that you had the chance to enjoy the novel. This novel checked off all of my boxes I loved it.

I really enjoyed this hockey romance! I have never read anything by this author before and really enjoyed her witty style. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a great sport romance book! Lots of sizzle between Serena and Christian.. Loved this read during the cold winter!

I have found a new genre that I love that has allowed me to get back into contemporary novels--the romcom! Just like their movie counterparts, they are filled with humor, wit, romance, misunderstandings, and ultimately "The Gesture" when the hero/heroine messes everything up and has to grovel for forgiveness, and the romance bug in me just loves them.

This novel contained so much lighthearted humor, especially from the heroine, and it made for some great scenes. I liked how fiery and sarcastic and confident she was, and even when she had her moments of insecurity, she cried it out and then managed to find her strength once again. Christian was so vulnerable and unsure of himself as well and where he came from, and I really felt all of his angst. Both are from very different worlds and are hesitant to join in a relationship, but they are unable to let the other go and decide to take a chance. There was a bit of insta-lust in the beginning of the novel, but in the second half we get more depth and conflict and it levels out a bit.

Overall, I really enjoyed this first novel of a new series. I would have liked for hockey to play a bigger role in the novel as I wanted to see more of the other players! I can't wait to see who the other hockey players meet their match in, especially Thor, the Mountain, and the Vampire. Definitely recommend this funny yet surprisingly deep and layered novel :)

The first a new series is off to a great start. A hockey player and a curvy young lady bump into each other at a gas station. The sparks fly off the pages as these two become involved hot and heavy into a relationship. Rumors hit social media, cracks start to tear them apart and her business of creating fashion for curvy girls starts to suffer. Can insecurities overcome what they feel for each other? Hot off the pages in the bedroom and everywhere else in the house.

Ice Hot by Tracy Goodwin is a fabulous read. The characters and their relationships are complex and grow through the book. The secondary characters are especially delightful . I hope to read more about them in the future. The story is interesting and complex as well. And it’s hot. This story was hard to put down.

I enjoyed this book. I thought the connection between Christian and Serena was full of desire, love and fun. They were two people who did not know what they were missing until the found it. Just because they found it did not mean it would be easy... as even with love comes the real life of careers, family and in this case the crazy media!

Through this book, I thought the message in the books was a good one, be comfortable with who you are and be happy for you. Live your life for you. You will not be able to make everyone happy so start with you and go from there. Who cares what other people think of who you are with or what you are doing and be true to who you are even when put in a situation where people want you to fail or be someone you are not. Stay true to you and the people you love.

Good read!

I really enjoyed this sexy hockey romance that is overflowing with heart and soul. Christian, the gorgeous sexy captain for the Nighthawks literally runs into the beautiful Serena and is completely gobsmacked by her. I love how he falls for her! She has some issues because of how she has been treated in the past so she is a bit slower in her falling for Chris but it’s clearly inevitable. How could she not, he is so sexy and just an amazing man!
Good story to go along with all the super hot sexy times. As the first book in a new series, I like that we get a good glimpse at some of the other team members that will hopefully be getting their own books.

Thank you to Netgalley/Publisher for this ARC!

This was an advanced copy courtesy of NetGalley and.... it was cute. Sweet story and extra points for the hero’s Michigan roots. For some reason though, I struggled a bit to get through it. Maybe that the majority of it seemed to take place inside the protagonists’ heads instead of as interactions. Then, even in the interactions, every few sentences of dialogue seemed to be interrupted by an entire page or more of the speaker analyzing what had been said or thinking about the things they wanted to say but didn’t. Or, maybe it was that the central conflict was a little underwhelming. Either way, it was a little tedious. I did appreciate the overall body positivity message. Both from the heroine and the hero. I think this one has potential for sure.

While this book (hockey romance!) should be right up my alley, I was unable to connect with it on two separate attempts. I'm not sure what's keeping me, I'm not particularly fond of either of the main characters, and their "meet" wasn't particularly cute for me. I'm not sure if it's how it's written, or just that the storyline isn't working for me period - but something about the set-up has me putting it down every couple of minutes and reluctant to come back, so I'm going to throw in the towel - DNF at 20%.

Thank you, sincerely, for the opportunity to read and review. Unfortunately, this was a miss for me.

Way to go , Tracy Goodwin! This was a great hockey romance. If your looking for angst, drama, swooning over the hero, this is the book for you.

The dynamic between Christian and Serena will keep you reading from start to finish. I loved that Tracy takes on cyberbullying and you really feel for Serena.

Get a tissue or two ready for the end of the book, Thi sis the perfect book to curl up with on a rainy day

Outstanding!

This is my first book by Tracy Goodwin and I’m in such a fantastic head space right now. Started and finished in one sitting, this book has all the feels. I laughed out loud, cheered and sneered and fell in love with the characters.

What I admired most was the actual lacking of any angst. The storyline held my interest while the characters were honest and upfront with each other. I. Loved. That. The. Most. However, like every great book there must be a twist. Things needed to happen. And wow. Just wow!

Can this be a standalone? One hundred percent YES! The epilogue...Loved it and now I’m hooked.

A. Must. Read.

Big bad jock meets his match in a feisty female entrepreneur. She gives as good as she gets while still being feminine. He's every woman's fantasy but a gentleman underneath.

If you love hockey, strong characters and romance, you’ll love this book. Christian is a hockey super-star who has never given much thought to ever being in love. It’s all about his new team and the players and of course, himself. Serena is a girl whose family has never had a problem with money, in fact, they even sold the land for the hockey stadium. Christian bumps into Serena and sparks fly as the two get to know each other. This story has lots of info about hockey, their players and their relationships. Solid characters and strong language are also part of this book. A little slow-moving for me but still a good read.

Ice Hot by Tracy Goodwin will be published March 5, 2019 by Loveswept, an imprint of Random House Publishing Group. An egalley of this book was made available by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.

Loved, loved, loved this book! What a breath of fresh air for an author to really go after some real social issues that are going on with social media. I loved these two characters and their relationship. I read this book through the night and could not put it down. Sports romance or at the top of my favorites list and this one was a really great one. It hit all the marks, sexy, witty, angst, drama, smoonworthy hero...you get the idea! The fat shaming aspect and near destruction that social media play in this were really well done and handled very tastefully. Can't wait to read the next book by this author!

I noticed lately that I have had a lot of hockey-themed romances in my TBR pile. Which is funny because I haven’t followed hockey in years. All these hockey themed romances are telling me something. They are telling me that I need to turn on the games again.

When I read the blurb for Ice Hot, I was kind of “meh” about it. No lying. I got burned out on alpha males. I also got burned out on women who think that they can handle the alphas but end up becoming submissive.

I surprised when Christian and Serena blew those misconceptions out of the water. While the book did start off with a typical alpha male situation, it turned into anything but. Christian was still very much an alpha male on the ice. But off the ice, when he was alone with Serena, he showed a different side. A side that I wasn’t expecting to see in a book like this. I loved it!!

I thought Serena was awesome!! The whole situation with the Slurpee had me cracking up in bed. But what I liked the most about her was that she was one of the most genuinely written characters I have read to date. I read a lot, so that says something. By the end of the book, she morphed into almost hero status in my eyes.

To the young women out there who are watching this, I have a wish. That you embrace the concept that no one defines who you are but you. No man defines you. Neither does social media. Be yourself. Be fearless. Forge your own path. That’s what I am doing with this video**

The author chose to detail cyberbullying in this review. As well as slut/fat shaming. Serena was at the end of that. She had been at the end of the fat shaming her entire life. Her parents did nothing about it. In fact, her father hired the guy who humiliated her. I thought she was strong and my admiration grew as the book went on.

I was heartbroken when Serena and Christian broke up. Now, I wouldn’t normally be mentioning that but it was huge in the book. I am not going to say why they broke up but I will say that I understood why Christian did it. He wanted to protect Serena and in his mind, this was how he could do it.

The only thing that I found fault with was how the team and management handled Mighty. I know that a hockey team needs to be a cohesive unit. Which is why I didn’t understand why nothing was done about Mighty until the end of the book. He caused so much harm, it wasn’t even funny. I was very surprised that Christian held off as long as he did.

The sex scenes were as emotional and intimate as the book was. The author kept up the sexual tension throughout the book. It didn’t go away at all. Actually, it intensified the deeper Christian fell for Serena. It was amazing to read.

You will need tissues for the end of the book. Thankfully, I had a bunch next to me (I am battling a cold). I started bawling the minute Serena met up with her mother and didn’t start until the end of the book. I loved the epilogue and thought the Slurpee was great!!!

I gave Ice Hot an Adult rating. There is explicit sex. There is violence. There is language. There are triggers. They would be online bullying, face to face bullying, fat shaming, slut shaming and bigotry. I would recommend that no one under the age of 21 read this book.

I would reread Ice Hot. I would also recommend this book to family and friends.

Bravo.... finally an author has the "nerve"to write a book with realistic characters.
Christian is a hot as hell hockey captain.
Serena is a real woman ... she's not an anorexic model type ( she's a size 14/16) whom he meets in a gas station convenience store .
Well you know the plot from here .
It's about time we see reality in a romance .

I appreciated the steamy romance that was all over this book. I loved Serena for being a confident badass at times. She isn't stuck thin and she has some insecurities. She didn't fit the usual romance female character mould. And I loved that
I did feel like the conflict, in the end, was a bit of a copout. I would have preferred that Chris handle the situation with Serena rather than break up with her for"her own good" it would have made the storyline more mature had they stayed together to overcome everything. Also,
Her mother doing a complete turnaround and wanting to suddenly support her daughter was hard to believe.
