This book is about Chris NHL Hockey player and Serena a designer. They met after a chris has had a rough day at practice with his new team. Chris goes to a seven eleven and bumps into Serena and spills her blue Slushy all over her. Serena isn’t happy but handles it pretty good. After this meeting Chris can’t get her out of his head:. He sees her again at a bar and his friends tell him he can’t get her to go home with him. Serena is on to her friends and tells him she won’t go home with him but she will give him her number.

I loved this book from the beginning Serena keeps Chris on his toes and is constantly saying or doing something funny. This is a sweet fun read with some sexy parts. I received a free copy for an honest review

I love hockey characters!. This was a quick/easy read. Two broken individuals that have their own hang-ups. Typical romance with an HEA. Great characters. I enjoyed it.

This book was a little painful for me, it dragged and I kept reading it because I kept saying that it will be better than the cheesiness that I kept reading, and because it had a lot of stars, I personally did not agree with them. The book wasn't horrible, but I like more entertainment. We have two people Serena and Chris who are attracted to each other but are both broken in their own way. Chris is a hockey god and known around the social media's sights as a player but he never really had a relationship, and is still supposed to be vulnerable because his father never wanted him or really took care of him so he is afraid to put himself out there thinking he will be rejected (sorry a little far fetched to me) Then we have Serena whose family is super rich, due to an incident when she was 16, up 16 she is afraid to open herself up to other men, she has been bullied and body shamed by her own parents. So there was a lot of back in forth in their minds do I want, no I dont, yes I do..Eventually as they start a relationship outside forces meddle and Chris dumps her then regrets it then apologizes and she immediately forgives.

This is a story of an instant connection between two people made possible by fate with the assistance of a blue raspberry icee. Christian didn't know that he was going to meet a vivacious Serena at a gas station, but bumping into her and causing her to spill icee all over herself wasn't part of his game plan. Serena recognized Christian as a professional hockey player and shot down his advances immediately because she didn't like cocky jocks. Once again, fate would intervene and the two would connect again. However, this time Christian was more persuasive and Serena agrees to a date. The couple have their share of ups and downs, but have eyes only for each other.
Christian has a surprising depth of character for an athlete and was very sweet. Serena was brave, strong and feisty, despite her insecurities over her weight in the past and family issues. I felt like the couple both had issues, but we're stronger together than apart. The sex scenes seemed rushed, hard to follow at times and not very sexy. Overall, I enjoyed the characters and the story appealled to the romantic in me.

Ice Hot is about a hockey player trying to lead a new expansion team when a chance encounter with curvy socialite had him reevaluating his life. I was very excited about this book as I love hockey romances. The chemistry between the main characters, Christian and Serena, was hot from the very beginning and there was plenty of smexy fun. However, I couldn't connect with Christian and Serena. I found her character to be very immature and the conversations between them felt that way as well. I also had a hard time getting past all the internal dialogues the characters were having and over the top descriptions of insignificant places to the story like the 3 page description of the team office. Three chilli peppers of hotness. Thanks for the ARC!

Even though the word ice is in the title this book will warm you right up as temperatures are starting to drop outside! You have a leading lady who isn't impressed with the hot sports star who is used to all women falling right at his feet. The story itself is a familiar one but it still keeps you interested and rooting for the happy ending that you know is coming!

The Gist.

Serena is a wealthy, hot, plus-sized businesswoman despite her parents body-shaming ways and a traumatic, body-shaming experience when she was a teen. Christian is the hot hockey captain with a fear of failure, a chip on his shoulder about his father, and women who want him for his status as a rich, pro athlete.

It was great finding a novel where the heroine wasn't a size six and sassy-mouthed, and the hero loved her body. Christian and Serena have off-the-charts chemistry, and I found myself drawn in by these complex characters. As someone who's struggled with how others perceive my body, I enjoyed seeing some of myself reflected in Serena.

I enjoyed the author's writing style and voice, and I will definitely look for the next Night Hawks novel.

really like this book. It is a feel-good story of love and romance. It covers some excellent subjects that definately relevant in today’s world. The main lead characters Serena's and Christian's romance and eventual love for one another is so realistic. The supporting characters are well developed and have wonderful personalities. This book includes a gay married couple. Serena's brother Lucas is married to Charlie and both are staunch supporters of Serena, her business and her personal life. Her grandmother, Savannah, is a hoot. She is eclectic in her manners and is a self-made woman. She has supported and championed Serena for all of her life. Savannah has been there for Serena because her parents did everything to body shame her because she is a BBW and look upon her fledgling business with distain. Her parents, Kathryn and Harrison Ellis are wealthy elitist snobs. They have always looked down on both Serena and her brother Lucas because they did not fit the mold of their perfect elitist lifestyle. Although emotionally hurt by their parents Serena and Lucas proudly live their lives in the open. Christian/Chris has had to take care of himself since he was a child. When his mother died, his father's gambling got out of control and he spent all his money for food and utilities on gambling without concern for feeding and caring for Christian. Christian worked hard to provide for himself and by extension, his father. Alone, unloved and uncared for, Christian spent his time excelling in all that he did. In the winter he would skate with used skates, and taught himself how to handle the ice. He kept those skates to always remind himself from where and what he came from. However, Christian's deep fear of never being loved for who he is strong. Because of his father, he fears rejection. He does not want to feel unloved. So, he has never had a relationship. As a pro hockey celebrity, women are constantly looking to attach themselves to his fame and fortune. When he meets Serena he is immediately attracted to her for her sassy snarky attitude and her rocking full figured body. Her confidence is an aphrodisiac to him. She does not treat him like a hockey god, but treats him like a normal guy. Serena has deep seated fears of her own. When she was sixteen, she had a traumatic experience with a boy. Since then, she has hardened her heart and is not willing to trust any man. She has never fully given herself to anyone and neither has Christian. Just when things are looking up for Christian and Serena, negative publicity drives a wedge between them. Christian knows who is behind it but he does not know how to deal with it. He breaks up with Serena in order to protect her, but all it does is cause anger, pain and insecurity. This is a wonderful book, very entertaining and full of emotion and drama. I highly recommend it. I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was an enjoyable sory about a poor little rich girl, Serena and the hockey captain that she meets. He wants more and she feels she is not worth more. And that is when the fun starts. Meanwhile He has a bad teamate that stirs up trouble for both of them but as long as they have each other all is good.

I loved Serena she is a fighter and she meets the guy who is willing to fight for her. This was a well written and interesting story and I enjoyed all the characters.

Mini Review:

While this book is incredibly cheesy, it's also HIGHLY ENJOYABLE. Serena is a strong, confident female lead and Christian was very cute and fun as her love interest. There is also a prevalent theme of friendship and sports which I found myself investing in.

It was somewhat hard to immerse because in the back of my mind, I was constantly realizing how cheesy every event/dialogue truly was. But this didn't take away from my overall love for the story.

I was cheering for the protagonists to get together from the very first gas station incident; I recommend this book!!!!!

I frequently found Serena acting immature (their first meeting, the bar, etc.), and this was a big turn off for me . Serena had major trust issues stemming from her teen years. She needed to let that go, get therapy, and not take her insecurities out on Chris. He seemed like a good guy from the start- considerate, honorable, and integrity all over the place. I loved Chris's patience and vulnerabilities with Serena and sex. So hawt. What happens when a team player forgets there's no "I" in team and sets about to cause major dischord fir Chris and Serena,!?! But, love prevails and eventually the couple gets a hea. I loved Savannah-she added spark to the story. Good read I recommend.

Serena just loves to tease her man, “this dress is hiding the fact that I’m rocking a very sexy thong today. I would have gone commando, your personal favorite, but we are meeting with my parents, after all. I need to show some modicum of respect.” She places her free hand over my shoulder. “Though I may be going the discreet route, it does slide off easily.” I think Chris is sometimes jealous that his woman gives his dog more attention than him, "I missed you too, Puck.” Serena kneels on the floor. My dog is getting more attention than I am.." I loved this book, I ell in love with Chris.
