Nikki's Review:

This is the first book I’ve read by Jodi Ellen Malpas. I was excited to dive in and fall hard for her newest alpha hero. That was my hope, anyways.

Speaking of Alpha heroes...I love them. I love them a lot. But in all honesty, Theo took that to a whole other level. He had some major stalker tendencies. I liked him enough, but he shook me up a time or two with his over the top personality.

I wanted to like Izzy, I really did, but she was a ridiculous push over. I won’t give too much away, but that whole awful scene where Theo shows up her work, and charges into her supervisor’s office was enough to make me cringe. I would have walked away and never looked back. Izzy convinced herself that it was because he wants to protect her. I may have rolled my eyes at that!

I think the thing I liked best about this book was the secondary characters. I was more intrigued by them, and I hope they get a book. I would definitely read it.

While I wasn’t a huge fan of the hero and heroine in this book, I thought the writing was well done. The plot was interesting and kept me turning the pages. I just wish I was able to connect with, and understand, Theo and Izzy’s personalities better.

One good deed and there he is....A giant of a man who looks menacing yet she's not afraid.

His very being commands attention and demands respect. He is dark and dangerous.

She's before him vulnerable, but still she gives him lip. Hes amazed at her boldness, and perplexed as to why she would endanger herself.

Theo is the true protector. Hes untouchable in so many ways, he's like a dark knight. A saviour to some and to others their worst nightmare.

Izzy with the heart of gold upon the shelf. Beautiful to her core, but with a past of darkness.

I absolutely freaking loved this!! Jodi writes like no one else can. I would even go as far as to say she's in a league of her own.

Her characters are so wounded and broken, but beautiful and dashing.

Tho he's like a bull in a China shop, he's still everything you want in a boyfriend.

I think he's my one!!

She's so strong and sassy, determined and kind hearted. She escaped from the darkness into the light....

It's banter at it's best.. the beginning of something beautiful.

There were moments where the words swam as sadness descended for all they endured, the past and the present.

I did devour this book, but tried to savour each and every word at the same time.

This to me is the kind of book that's timeless and will be read again and again.

If you only read one book in the month of February. THIS NEEDS TO BE IT!!

Izzy is a survivor. Escaping from a traumatic past, she reinvented herself and today finds security in her career as a nurse. But the ghosts left behind still haunt her. When faced with an unusual situation, in a dark alley, she does not hesitate and leaves to rescue someone in danger. Even if it puts her at risk. But when everything seemed to be heading for the worst, a mysterious man appears and saves her.
Theo is a real mystery. His strong and imposing figure scares at first sight. Behind the fancy clothes, there is a dangerous and lethal man, who exudes power and inhabits an illicit underworld. But when touching an unknown girl in an alley, unleashes an overwhelming feeling on both sides, which will start a passion unbridled, surrounded by erotic moments and permeated by secrets.
Those secrets, by the way, are what move the plot and trap the reader in such a way, that the pages are devoured behind answers to the great mystery of the book. Theo is an anti-hero, a tortured character with a traumatic past, a serious phobia, an illegal job, who lives on the fringe of society but still has a good heart. Catholic teachings are still present, even if he has moved away from his true self.
Izzy was the strength that Theo needed but also his vulnerability. She just as he has a lot of traumas to deal with, throughout the book several situations act as triggers, causing her to relive the past and have small outbreaks. It is undeniable that the two complete each other, but at the same time it was foreseeable that such an approach would be volatile.
Some attitudes of Theo raise discussions of how much this behavior can be considered abusive. His problem with controlling anger and being violent when he loses his temper, while pertinent to the character's characterization and phobia, can ignite several red warning signs.
Secondary characters are interesting. Callum piqued my interest and I hope he has his story told. Eroticism and violence are present in the book, but nothing too explicit.
The great point of the work is the writing of Jodi Ellen. By creating yet another traumatized but controversial character, the author is able to print emotion, empathy and develop a story that makes the reader cheer and hope for a happy ending. I regard Gentleman Sinner as a foray into a darker side, a heavier narrative. And successful. Theo can join the author’s others unforgettable male characters. Even being a gentleman sinner.

If there’s one thing that I know I can always count on in a romance by Jodi Ellen Malpas, it’s that she will deliver one heck of a story. Known for her hardened alpha males and their strong-willed heroines who blow their minds, her writing just gets me every single time. Well, wait until you meet Theo Kane! From beginning to end, 'Gentleman Sinner' proved completely captivating, and the passion between Theo and Izzy melted my kindle along with my heart!

Theo was huge, intimidating, brash, and all kinds of alpha goodness! He definitely had his demons, but he also had some pretty great reasons for them as well. Since I was unfamiliar with the social issues that Theo faced, I thought it was very interesting and really felt for his character's struggle in dealing with them and those around him.

Like Izzy, I was irritated with Theo’s demanding ways, but I loved how she stood her ground with him and eventually brought out the incredibly sweet man underneath. She was the perfect balance of sweet and strong, and although Izzy had her own complicated past, she was fierce in not letting it or anyone else define who she was.

Theo and Izzy were both so bull-headed and stubborn, so it took a lot of push and pull for them to understand and respect each other’s boundaries. Their passion was intense, their sexy times sizzled, and they shared an unconditional love that gave me all the feels. And that epilogue was so incredibly sweet!

Jodi Ellen Malpas did a fantastic job of crafting this unique, complex, and suspenseful plot. Her descriptive writing really pulled at my emotions throughout with just the right touch of wit to balance out the angst. There was so much depth to both the characters and the story, and although I was a bit surprised at how smoothly and somewhat quickly it wrapped up in the end, I just gobbled every bit of it up. The secondary characters in the story were a delight as well, and I’m hoping that Malpas was setting the stage for Jess and Callum to get a story of their own next – fingers crossed!

'Gentleman Sinner' was such a unique and exciting read, and I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a steamy romance and a new alpha to adore!

This was a great read but not my favorite book from Jodi Ellen Malpas, I loved the storyline I just didn't feel connected to the characters.
The story was good , it didn't have a lot of drama and the hero was interesting and mysterious.Which make the story even more interesting!The heroine was good too.
It has some really sexy moments and it was intense!I thought some parts were over the top for my taste.

They are just the characters that true novels and storytelling marvel over, the ones that will live with you forever!!!

This is my first Jodi Ellen Malpas book and I LOVED IT!! Not since Fifty Shades have I felt this way about a book and the main hero; Theo Kane. Even his name has a strong presence and he just hit all the right notes for me. Did he come off as a bit of a stalker? Sometimes. The other parts of his personality more than made up for his flaws. Good lord this man and the words he says! I loved the way this author brought these two characters together. It was a unique story that held my attention from page 1.

This book also has a strong heroine and she had no problem standing up to Theo, even when I would have given in to him way sooner than she did ;) This book and the way Theo was described made my imagination run wild and when a book does that, it is a special thing that I don't soon forget. Loved it!

I found my new BBF and his name is Theo. *Sigh* I'm telling you, I can't get enough of this man. He may be scary to other people but yeah, he does something for Izzy and for me. He's sweet and protective over Izzy after meeting her in an alley where she was helping a stranger. He was intrigued with Izzy from the very beginning. She went toe to toe with him even though he was so much bigger than her and that just didn't happen to him because of who he was not to mention his size. He wanted to know more about her, he wanted to know everything.

Theo has a darkness inside of him and one thing that him and Izzy have in common is that they don't let many people into their personal circle. They both have secrets and they both don't want to talk about them. When letting each other in little by little your heart will hurt for these two for what they've went through.

I literally couldn't get enough of Theo and Izzy, I felt like I knew them, felt what they were feeling and literally wanted to tackle hug Theo quite a few times. I wanted to hug Izzy too but no tackling involved!

LOVED this book!!!! One of my favorites for this year!!

For Lord Almighty! Ladies and gentlemen hold your horses and enjoy the ride because Jodi Ellen Malpas comes with all the energy and talent for this year. Jodi nailed it flawlessly and hard. She penned a dark romance that consumed me whole and I enjoyed the ride so much. She has outdone herself. It is official, Jodi Ellen Malpas is the queen when it comes to alpha males! I didn’t think I could love one any more than Jesse Ward from This Man Series, but she did it with Theo Kane. Gentleman Sinner was EVERYTHING. Completely blown away. I devoured it, and hated when it ended. It is devastatingly beautiful, forbiddingly intoxicating and intense as fuck! There is too much to say about this book, let’s start with irresistible.

The writing is flawless perfection, it is fierce and strong, hot as lava and sinful. This time Jodi surprised us with a masterpiece with capital letters that literally ruined me for my future reads. With this book she demonstrated that she can write every type of romance and the final result will be the same because she spoils her readers with refreshing romances that made them swoon and dream. She is guilty for my high expatiations when it comes to men. I wonder what inspire her to create such intense, strong, protective, possessive alpha males. For every Theo Kane, there is an Izzy White because let’s not forget that Jodi’s heroines are fierce women who love irrevocably just like their men and enjoy challenging them!

I was so excited to read this book and had high expectations that Jodi fulfilled brilliantly. I was sucked in the intensity of the story. At some point of the ride I found myself vulnerable to a heart breaking. My heart pounded loud and strong in my chest and almost had a small heart attack but I kept reading because the story of Theo and Izzy charmed me and intrigued me to madness.

Theo Kane is the cherry on this cake. He is the kind of man who oozes fear like a raw, primal warrior. He is not afraid of anyone or anything. He commands attention, demands power and screams power. Theo Kane is darkly delicious and sin personified in flesh. No one dares to say no to him. No one touches him. No one challenges him… Until he met Izzy White, the woman who will touch his soul, the woman who will amend his broken soul and body. Her bravery and love are the cure for a man as dangerous as him.

Izzy is a broken queen, Theo is a broken king… And their brokenness will bound them in a mysterious way and together will take a consuming journey of sensual and passionate desire, overwhelming lust and vulnerable redemption.

Gentleman Sinner is a positively terrifying read. It is dangerously addictive and darkly powerful. I bet there won’t be a reader who would be immune to this enticing book because, to be honest, who can resist a book writing by the queen of romance?

If there is one book to read, then Gentleman Sinner by Jodi Ellen Malpas is the one. If you're looking for a book that will shock you and make you fall in love, then look for no further.

If there is one author who is not afraid to tackle something so incredibly difficult, it is this one. From With This Man, to The Forbidden to now, with this one, these novels always tackle subjects that attack the heart and are controversial. They're emotion-filled, touching and incredible! It seems that this author doesn't run from the tough and the painful, she runs to them, and writes a story so poignant, you can't help but be touched by it. This is why I fell in love with her books.

As for Theo Kane, I am in love. He's a man with a past who looks for the light, and that is Izzy. He is handsome and dangerous, both physically and to the heart. It's very easy to fall in love with Theo Kane, and you'll see why once you've read the book.

And another heroine for the win!! Izzy White is a vulnerable, kind and gentle soul, who will defend herself and others who deserve it. She has a strong and kind soul, and the strength of Wonder woman. Such a wonderful character.

Gentleman Sinner is a read that is tough, controversial, but poignant and absolutely beautiful in its written form. Another book that I have fallen in love with from this author. Bravo!!!

Although I’ve books by this author sitting on my kindle this is my first read by this author. What was I thinking! I seriously need to sort myself out and read more of this authors previous books as this was a fantastic read.

Theo Kane...what a man. Dark and dangerous he’s a man that when he wants something he will do whatever he wants to get.

I thought Izzy was a fab strong character. I’d have loved to read more of her past though.

Both have a dark past and secrets they’d rather not share.

I have no words for how much I loved this story. I’m super excited that the author has books already released that I can catch up on.

5 There's a Darkness Lurking Below the Surface Stars!!!

This book is absolutely amazing. I love JEM and her characters especially her alpha heroes. And with this book I absolutely fell in love with Theo Kane. He's dark and mysterious and HAF!! When he meets Izzy her life is about to change!

I loved the journey these characters take because one is slightly more "invested" in what happens than the other. The obsession that Theo has for Izzy could be a little scary, but, their chemistry was skyrocketing off the pages of my kindle. There's angst galore in this book which I've come to expect with books written by this amazing author.

While Izzy doesn't trust easily and Theo doesn't give her a lot of reasons to trust him, they're drawn to each other and he will get his girl. But there's a story behind the who's and what's had made Theo who he is today and I really want the full story.

This book is more than addicting. I was consumed with finishing it because the story, the characters, and everything in between is just that good!!!

If Jodi Ellen Malpas' This Man series, Kristen Ashley's Knight, and EL James' Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy had a love child, it might be called Gentleman Sinner... unfortunately though, there were some pivotal pieces missing in the development of the dynamic between Theo Kane and Izzy White that hindered my reading experience. I think Theo steamrolled in, going full Jesse Ward crazy, a bit prematurely and instead of it feeling sexy and addictive, it came off feeling toxic and creepy. 

Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of things I enjoyed about this book. I never wanted to stop reading but part of that I attribute to the fact that I was anxiously determined to find the quintessential JEM magic that I've so easily found in the last several books I've read from this author. This time though, it evaded me. I love a broken hero and the way Malpas crafts a story around him and the "normal" girl that comes out of nowhere and mends all that is damaged. But this one was so similar to sooooo many other stories I've read, by both Malpas and others, that I really struggled with finding something special and memorable in these pages. Aside from the epilogue, which I found adorable and sweet, if not a bit too perfect, and a handful of pretty romantic scenes peppered throughout, there wasn't a whole lot about Gentlemen Sinner that rubbed me the right way. 

Yes, it's romantic and sexy mostly. But it's also a bit over the top. There was a lot of OTT drama and I never felt truly immersed in it in a way that felt real. I felt like a spectator in this book rather than an emotionally invested captive JEM usually makes of me when I read her books. I loved Jesse Ward's special brand of crazy but maybe it's because it was properly cultivated over several books. Theo's problems, his obsession, his history, his road to healing and freedom from his demons... basically everything that makes him HIM... well, maybe it was just too much for one book. The build was missing something and I just never bought in. 

I adore this author's stories. They're messy and emotionally turbulent. They're sexy and volatile and often unpredictable. Gentlemen Sinner is absolutely all of those things and while I really liked these characters and the premise of their story, this one, sadly, just left a lot to be desired.

He is everything you know you shouldn’t love but you know he is worth every single sin to break because of it.
Sexy, angsty, full of suspense of why Theo Kane is the way he is & why Izzy White is the reason he can’t stay away.
And the emotions of this story, Gripping!
My heart was aching for Theo & Izzy.
Soo many feels from this book.

When this book hit my kindle, I was so very excited to read it. I wasn't sure what to expect as I went in blind. And I'll tell you that the start of this book had me completely intrigued. I wanted to know Theo Kane immediately and what made him tick.

He's definitely an Alpha and if I'm being honest gave me those "Jesse Vibes". He didn't seem to take no for an answer and at times had those stalker/over bearing qualities. I think if you loved Jesse you will definitely feel some sort of way about Theo.

Izzy, well she's definitely a survivor so I'll admit I'm a bit surprised at her quick willingness to even entertain the idea of Theo. But there's always that instinct in you that tells you that someone is safe, so I chose to believe that she's been through enough to know the difference.

Now for me, my feelings on this book are a bit conflicted. One one hand I want to absolutely love it but on the other hand there were just a few things that prevented me from obsessing over it. Theo and Izzy as individuals both fascinated and intrigued me and I did love the idea of these two together. In a way I think they save one another. That being said, I found that this story took awhile to get to some of the things I really wanted to know. There was also one scene in particular that I found completely out of place and didn't really fit with the characters themselves and it threw me off to the point where it took me a bit to get back into it again.

I'll also add that the secondary characters really stood out to me in this. I would love for Jesse and Callum to get a story and I'm hoping they do, I'll definitely read it.

While I definitely enjoyed this book, I didn't quite feel that draw towards these two the way that I would have liked. I'm still glad that I read it and I am looking forward to what's next from Jodi.

There is just something about a JEM book that pulls you into the heart of the lives of her characters, and Gentleman Sinner is no different. In true Jodi fashion, we are presented with a broken man, a man with a past he is not proud of. He's searching for redemption and love. Theo Kane. Did I love Theo? Oh yeah, I did, there was something about him. What is it about a man that wants to protect his woman? I want a Theo of my own!

Enter Izzy White. A nurse trying desperately to hide from her past. Set in the heart of London, we get to be privy to some of it's underground and secrets. The supporting cast is once again full of personalities I want to befriend. I have always loved the way this author's mind works, I adore her prose and wit. The banter between the hero and heroine was superb, their sexual tension palatable. I did find the heroine a bit much at times, but I liked her nonetheless. Her reveal was bit lack luster for me and left me wanting more, but plausible. The story was predictable, but enjoyable.

JEM has once again given us a complex hero you won't soon forget.

Every time I pick up a Jodi Ellen Malpas book, I know it will be an amazing journey and I have not been disappointed yet! In Gentleman Sinner, we get a story about two broken and lost souls who never imagined finding love, much less their other half. But things are never that easy.

I am not sure where to begin. I absolutely loved Izzy White and Theo Kane. Izzy has been living life cautiously for years. Her story is so heartbreaking. Even so she fought hard to make something of herself. Even if letting others in from outside her small circle is very hard for her. So, when she helps a woman in need, she has no idea how much her life is about to change. Though she is vulnerable, she is so strong and determined as well.

Theo Kane protects those he cares about and those in his circle. He is so strong, determined and above all else always needs to be in control. He is a man that is feared and revered. Then he meets Izzy and his dark world finally has some light and hope in it. But can he protect her from the danger not only around him, but from himself as well?

Gentleman Sinner by Jodi Ellen Malpas consumed me from start to finish. The characters were captivating and their journey mesmerizing. I devoured this book as quickly as I could. Izzy and Theo shared a strong and unbreakable connection. My heart hurt for them and cheered them on. This story was emotional, heartbreaking, full of angst and a bit of suspense and I loved every minute of it! This is a must-read and one I highly recommend!

Gentleman Sinner by Jodi Ellen Malpas is the story of Theo Kane and Izzy White.
Izzy is a strong women but with trust issue due from a harsh past that she is moving forward from. Theo saves her from an attack, but is he just bringing back things that Izzy has been working to get away from? Theo comes in 'hot' and most people run scared but Izzy stands strong to him. Can these two people with dark past move forward into the light of love?
This book is one that you cannot put down. Ms. Malpas writing/books are ones that you just want to savior...loved it!

Well this was an unexpected JEM! Jodi Ellen Malpas is always know for her very alpha males, and Gentleman Sinner does not disappoint. Izzy has all the sass and bite. She gives as good as she gets and she pushes back, especially when you have Theo Kane wedge himself into your life. From a chance encounter to some light stalking, okay some strong moments in that department, but not to the point where it was insane crazy. But their chemistry is off the charts as they tumble into this world of mystery that both of them have and secrets are exposed. I was swooning but I was also nail biting wondering what will be thrown at them next.
Overall, while Jesse is still my man, Theo has a special place in my heart. He loves hard and Izzy calms him. I loved that aspect of it all. The beauty and the beast. If you are a JEM lover, you will very much enjoy this story that she created!
