I wasn't really sure what to expect with that title and I was definitely in for a roller coaster of a book it produced some conflicting feelings on one hand it was good story and the it told a lot of love, on the other hand I feel I don't think the actions to get there were smart. Theo and Izzy sure had so much chemistry and sexual tension. I felt something was missing for me. Some bits confused me and I felt far fetched but I rolled with it.

While one moment for Izzy and Theo changed everything, they felt some sort of connection, magnetic draw things are just getting started. Izzy is complex, she has had trauma in her past but is kind hearted and caring. Her passion for her work is great. Theo confused her so, he is hot headed, intense, scary to many but thoughtful caring to her. Made her feel safe. That conundrum brought up so many times. It was frustrating in a way since it was brought up a lot but that seems common from the other books I've read from the author, it drives that point. The inner thoughts of Izzy was clear she has developed feelings for the this strange intimidating man but also has experienced how violence can turn bad. I can see the feelings between them are genuine but it's such a complicated situation since Theo is into things Izzy abhors but for some reason she let's it go which I'm not totally sure why.

Izzy while she knows of Theo's rage and anger triggers she eggs him on cause she knows he won't hurt her. It all comes a explosive blows when things they need to confront come back. Despite Theo being a difficult man to love and has his own flaws Izzy saw past that and accepted it wanting to make it better. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't but I admit it was unique and them.

Overall this was an interesting plot with characters that are layered and complex. Loads of steam and some humor in between. I like the friendship of Izzy and Jess, the loyalty even if things are weird and also a sounding board, everyone needs a friend like that. Jess also brightened this story up, her banter with Callum was a good part for me. I would like to see their story in the future that would be a good read.

Gentleman Sinner by Jodi Ellen Mapas is a story about two broken people finding safety and comfort in each other. Izzy and Theo both have traumas from their past that no matter how close they get they aren't willing to share with each other. Not because they don't trust the other but because they just can't stomach to relieve it. Yet, the secrets that shared them into the two people who need each other might also be the one thing that breaks them.

I struggled to connect with the characters in this book. To me Izzy came off as naive and unrealistic. I rolled my eyes a few times at her actions and responses towards Theo. Theo I guess was supposed to be all tortured soul Alpha and yeah by the end I saw that but for the first half of the book he just came off as a creepy arrogant stalker. The writing was good and the sex scenes were well done but I honestly didn't care about the characters till halfway through the book. Once I hit the halfway point I was interested and invested in Theo and Izzy's relationship. I wanted them to break down those final walls for each other and finally accept the one another's love.

This is my first read from Jodi Ellen Mapas, and would be interesting in reading more from her. Maybe she'll write a story for Izzy and Theo's best friends.

My love for her holds me prisoner. Her faith leaves me in awe. Her hope encourages mine. And her touch reaches my soul. She is my peace. My cure. My love.

This story is so darn beautiful. Jodi didn’t disappoint me and was beyond my expectation . The story, characters and the chemistry everything was perfection. It reminded me of the classic beauty and beast . A story of two people who are totally different from each other, the only similarity between them is their damaged past .

“The first time I touched you, you had me. I’ll never be able to explain how it felt. How it feels now.”

The story is totally captivating and intriguing a woman who does good and a man who is dangerous. Even though the story had its dark side but still I loved Theo character . He was a man a soft heart and hard exterior. The story was so beautifully written with emotions in all the right places. I am still new to Jodi’s fan bandwagon but after reading this book I can’t wait to binge read all her other books. I received an advance copy of this book via Social Butterfly PR . Definitely worth reading and a must read. It is a very well written story and will totally captivate you with its beautiful words and intriguing plot . Highly recommend this book.

Gentleman Sinner brought out mixed feelings in me while reading it. Some parts I liked and some I didn’t. I enjoyed the secondary characters. Izzy’s BFF Jess and Theo’s friend Callum. These two and their interactions with the main characters Izzy and Theo are what made me enjoy Gentleman Sinner. The book started out great for me. I liked Izzy and her working as a nurse. She passionate about her job and it’s her safe haven. Her first meeting with Theo was terrific too. Mysterious and intense.
I’m sad to say that I struggled a lot with Izzy and Theo. Their relationship needed more development or a build up. His pursuit of her and them being intimate was just too fast for me. I needed more story to establish a connection between them and sadly I never got that. For me their relationship was just sexual. I didn’t believe in them as a couple.
The tone of this book is at times dark because of Izzy and Theo’s past but thankfully Jess brought out the fun side of Izzy and also her bantering with Callum was great. The epilogue tied it all together and I saw a new and wonderful side of Theo. Despite the mixed emotions I overall enjoyed Gentleman Sinner and I hope I get my wish and get a book with Jess and Callum. That would be awesome.

A lush example of every woman's dark hero fantasy.

I knew this story would have me wrapped around its little finger. As soon as that title popped up before my eyes, JEM had a believer in her ranks :-D

Theo Kane will be a name to be remembered. Imposing, secretive, a dark knight in shining armor, with a rare mix of proper manners and kinky issues. And that’s a constant throughout the book.
This couple meets in dire circumstances that show off their true nature, her kindness and bravery, his mysterious allure. A bewildering contrast between them as she should have been scared of the man in the dark alley, but she finds solace in his aloof and commanding presence. From there on, this couple shares the most tender feelings, cherishing each other with their flesh and heart, yet ghosts of violence and grief surround them like a threatening shroud.

The chain of events flow like magic from an enigmatic attraction to a full-mode obsessed love to a storm of traumas putting their bond to the test.

I loved Izzy’s character. She’s a survivor, a good woman who’s bootstrapped herself out of misery and pain to become a nurse, a nurturing person who is ready to face danger in order to help another human being. I loved the first scene where she and Theo meet, dramatic to say the least. And the perfect jumping point into a seductive relationship full of mystery, magnetism, and oh no beautiful passion!

The author has envisioned a captivating love story about two broken, yet strong human beings who find their soul mate in the rarest of places. The narratives shines better than ever, and I relished every word that described the complexities of the wounded hero and the deep, life-changing connection he develops with the caring woman who wakes up his tender side.

The secrets that define them both cut through the plot like sharp blades. Trust and strength fight against shame, fear and abuse. The romance is vibrant and pure, laced with amazing chemistry and strong issues of female resilience and compassion. I admire Lizzy, she’s a great female character, and I loved Theo’s half alpha male half teddy bear personality.

Tragedy and devotion fill the exhilarating ending of this passionate, moving love story. This author has proven herself again. And I so wish there was a story for Izzy's friend. Another couple with so much promise in them!!

I’m not sure where to begin or what to write. I don’t want to give the story away because I believe you need to go in with no expectations of this book , I think the blurb and the teasers you can see will give you enough of an insight into the mysterious Theo Kane to make this a brilliant read.
Jodi Ellen Malpas certainly knows how to give us alpha men but Theo Kane is like no other character we have met before he is dark, he is raw and hot as hell but under it all he is a damaged gentle soul who will do what ever is needed to protect the ones he loves. Izzy White is a beautiful heroine she is strong she is caring and she is full of compassion even though she has her own dark secrets.
This is an intense love story that will have your feelings all over the place, secrets are uncovered and subjects are touched on that are not easy to read but the author does not linger she moves on very quickly. This book gave me all the feels I want in a good book I got goosebumps and i can’t lie I cried and my heart skipped some beats at this book neared it’s end. This book is not just a great read it’s a brilliant read and once again this very talented author gives us another alpha male we won’t forget.

Can I just say, that Jodi Ellen Malpas wrote one of my favorite characters of all time with Jesse so the bar was already set high with me by herself. That being said, I am absolutely 100% in love with Theo. He is definitely up there with some of my other favorite alpha book boyfriends. He is charming and sexy and also vulnerable and so broken and I adored seeing him grow and change throughout the story. Izzy is a great character as well and is perfect for Theo. She is strong and sassy and I really like her.

This story was definitely a roller coaster of emotions and I enjoyed every minute of it. It left me reeling after finishing this story. I had so many emotions still leaving me with a complete book hangover. I could not even get my thoughts together to write this review for a few days. This is my favorite Jodi Ellen Malpas story next to the This Man series and yes I am sure I have said that with other books of hers as well, but they just continue to make me fall more and more in love with her writing with each book and I so can't wait to read more from her.

I was so excited for this new contemporary romance by Jodi Ellen Malpas as I love her irresistible alpha heroes. hooked me in right from the start with its mysterious ambiance and the intense chemistry brewing between Izzy and Theo.

Theo Kane! What a fascinating hero! He’s feared and imposing, but with Izzy he’s just so gentle and a completely other man. He made me swoon a lot with this caring facet of his personality he shows only for the young woman. I was filled with curiosity by his strange behavior and his past all through my read! As much as he’s an enigma, Izzy also abhors secrets that I wanted to discover. They’re both new to relationships, hiding their most terrible secrets from each other, but they need to learn to trust. It’s not an easy feat, but they work hard to get their relationship this level of complete faith.

The last few chapters decreased my rating a little. The intrigue took a farfetched turn in my opinion! I had difficulty believing that specific part of the story. As much as the suspense about both characters’ past is intriguing, I felt it was also progressing too slowly. In general, the characters are what made me enjoy Gentleman Sinner that much either way. In their individuality as much as a couple, Theo and Izzy are mesmerizing! You indubitably need a Theo Kane in your life!!!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Gentleman Sinner is getting the flames instead of the stars because it just is and this is my review and I’m saying it does!!!

Just when I thought Ms. Malpas couldn’t give us a more damaged, HOT, ALPHA hero, she gives us Theo F^cking Kane!! Theo is a man you love right from page one and I did! I was intrigued by him and his past; enter Izzy.....when you have a hero that has a history that is not “good”, you expect the heroine to be the one to save him....but what if the heroine needs saving too? I was blown away by how Ms. Malpas spun Theo and Izzy’s story. The twists and turns that the reader will experience were CRAZY but pure perfection!!!

Now, my emotions: I was all over the place! Txting friends with how I was feeling. My anxiety peaked quite a few times.....for me, if I’m not crying then my heart beat better be racing....racing it was!!!

Plus, I have added a new man to my BBF harem.....Theo Kane.....holy f^cking hell!

Izzy White has worked hard to overcome her dark past and move on with her life. She's broken free of the fear that used to control her, and has built the life she wants. She lives in London with her best friend Jess, and has a job as a nurse that she loves. She finally likes who she is, and where she's at in life. Then she acts on instinct to show someone in need kindness, and puts herself back in the type of danger she's tried so hard to avoid.

When Izzy finds herself in trouble she meets a mysterious stranger named Theo Kane. He's a massive mountain of a man that's built like a gorgeous gladiator. He's so freakishly big, he should be frightening, but there's a softness in his eyes when he looks at her. At first sight he comes across as dark, dangerous, and intimidating, but for some reason she's not afraid. Instead she finds him magnetic, alluring, and exciting. There's a sense of ease that's unfamiliar, and she can't deny the insane attraction she feels for him. No matter how much she tries to pretend she's immune to him, his physical presence just does things to her. She's drawn to him, and experiences an explosion of desire every time he touches her. She's never felt anything like it before. He's complex, intense, overwhelming, bold, and demanding, but also makes her feel safe. He throws mixed signals, but also gives her incredible pleasure she soon can't live without. He's become an addiction, and even though she's seen enough violence to last her a lifetime, she dives head first into his world.

Theo Kane is completely captivated by Izzy White. He relentlessly pursues her even if it's a little stalkerish. He wants her bad. He can't explain his reaction to this woman. There's this powerful connection between them, and she has his undivided attention. She challenges him and frustrates him, but he wants to explore this crazy effect they have on one another. She's intoxicating, and he's utterly consumed. She brings light into his dark world, and has completely hijacked his heart.

Izzy never wants to be weak and vulnerable again, but Theo makes her happy. He makes her feel valued and untouchable. She feels like she's known him forever, but she's terrified of how he makes her feel. He's wooed her, and shown her a tenderness others don't see. As they both become too attached to one another will their secrets and past threaten everything that matters most to them?

WOW, I just loved this book!!! Jodi has done it again! I was completely hooked throughout this story. It's dark, sexy, and deeply emotional but also had me laughing. It's full of secrets, tragedy, and intrigue. It's about survivors, and the healing power of love. I couldn't have loved this man more. Theo Kane hit me with all the feels. Just loved this man so much! I am absolutely desperate for a book for Callum next!!! PLEASE!!!!! <333

Gentlemen Sinner is a tale that begins as a chance encounter with dark elements entwined into the narrative.

The cover grabbed my attention along with the synopsis. Suspense seeping throughout this page-turner novel as I couldn't put it down as I needed to know what was going to happen next.

Two broken souls holding secrets & demons inside. Drawn to eachother by her light and his darkness.

This novel is dark & mysterious with lighthearted humorous moments trickling through.

Character's are extremely complex with
layers being peeled off throughout the narrative.

Theo Kane is a dark & delicious bad boy, alpha hero, who knows what he wants & is dangerous to the core.

Izzy is a compelling character with admirable characteristics.

I loved Theo's best mate Callum. I would love to see him and Jess (Izzy's best mate) get their own book.

One thing I didn't like was Izzy's revealing of what happened to her. In the way the revelations were delivered were a bit disappointing as she said she was basically kept prisoner at one point but the details were kind of skimmed over.

I found this book not to be as dark and twisted as I expected it to be by the synopsis.

Mind you, this is the first book I have read from this author so I didn't know exactly what to expect but I expected more jaw dropping moments & suspenseful twists.

However, there are dark elements in this story, rape and extreme violence.

This novel is dark, mysterious, suspenseful, sweet & steamy all rolled up into one exhilarating read.

Gentleman Sinner is the all new INCREDIBLE stand-alone novel by Jodi Ellen Malpas. I swear, Ms. Malpas brings her A-game with every book she writes, but with this story she knocks it out of the park!

Izzy is a shell of a woman. Sure she puts on a good front, but inside she’s broken. I absolutely loved her. Despite everything she went through at the end of the day all she wanted was to be loved. Can’t blame a girl right because isn’t that what we all want? To have that all encompassing type of love. When she meets Theo, she has no idea what’s in store for her...

“With love, happiness and peace should come naturally.”

Theo Kane...let me count the ways that I adore thee-
Hot AF ✔️
Alpha to the core ✔️
Heart pure as gold ✔️
Protects fiercely ✔️

I seriously could go on and on. Theo is damaged but not irreparable. He is such a strong character that literally had me falling for him from the get go.

“He has a magnetic pull, luring me closer, and I’m helpless to its power.”

I felt the same as Izzy. Theo lured me in, and I was unable to stop it. I didn’t want to stop it. The way he was with Izzy...GAHHH my heart exploded with all the feels.

Both Theo and Izzy are complex characters in their own way. I feel Ms. Malpas was able to dig deep into not only who they were but why they were. Her writing was impeccable with Gentleman Sinner. Both characters were everything I want in a hero and heroine. I laughed with them and I cried along with them. They were EVERYTHING.

I highly recommend reading this story! Hands down my favorite from JEM!

Gah! This book is so dark and sexy and delicious! Theo is all darkness and brooding man, but oh so tender with Izzy. I loved the suspense and the mood of this book so much! The couple is kinda doomed in all the right ways, yet so perfect for one another. I loved it!

This is going to be a hard review to write. I fell in love with Jodi with her This Man Series, then her One Night series. However, sadly, this book didn't work for me.
I struggled hard with Gentleman Sinner. I could not connect with Izzy and Theo, at all. Izzy was such a weak heroine to me. I just could not relate to her character and her actions. Theo, oh Theo. I am all for an alpha male but he was just a man with anger management issues. When we finally get to the part of the story where we find out why Theo is the way he is, it just didn’t click. He was extremely pushy, way too hot headed, and just over the top!
I wanted to love this book so badly but I honestly couldn’t. Maybe it’s me and my reading preferences are changing. I know many people are going to love this book hard but it just wasn’t for me.

Still looking forward to Jodi's next book though!

Well well well..... Theo Kane is my new favourite JEM Alpha! Jodi held me captive throughout this book, I could not put it down. The story has a deliciously darker feel to it with two characters with hidden pasts and damaged hearts.

From the moment Theo and Izzy meet, the air of mystery surrounding Theo is thick yet Izzy feels one thing she hasn't felt before..... Safe! From this first meeting I spent the rest of the book swept away with wondering about both Theo and Izzy's pasts; but enamoured with them as a couple. Any one who has read Jodi before knows the woman can write and epic Hero. Theo is a massive guy, that commands a room, feared by many and likes control not unpredictability. He is walking contradiction, hard and soft, tender but strong, seemingly uncaring yet completely devoted.

Izzy is a fiercely strong heroine, a woman who has overcome a destructive past, one that still haunts her. A woman always fighting to free herself from the memories she can't quiet, seeking safety and fulfilment through her job. When she meets Theo, a man who should plant fear firmly at her feet, she feels secure, treasured and untouchable.

Gentleman Sinner held a host a secondary characters but Jess (Izzy's best friend) and Callum (Theo's friend and right hand man) bring a lot to the story and Callum and Theo's interaction especially brings some levity and had me chuckling on numerous occasions. One word - Epilogue!

Theo's issues run deep and they impose limitations on his relationship with Izzy; but it also means he needs to be prepared and creative and it makes for some hella hot scenes. One thing that shines throughout the novel is Theo's devotion to Izzy, to never hurt her, to cherish her, to fight for her to be a better man for her. Every woman should have a man who is devoted to her that way; but of course with darker undertones Theo's life plays into the memories of Izzy's troubled past and fuses with Theo's and the consequences are deadly. What will Theo Kane do to protect his girl? Well you will have to read it on February 5th to find out!

Gentleman Sinner
by Jodi Ellen Malpas
3🌟🌟🌟

I’m sad to say that my high expectations for this book was not met after finishing it. I really wanted to connect with Izzy and Theo and more so after the great start they had. Their first encounter was intriguing and mysterious which I loved. The development of their relationship for me felt a bit incomplete. Felt more like a sexual connection than a deep emotional one.

I can say that one of the things I love most about this story was the secondary characters Jess and Callum. Jess is Izzy’s best friend, Callum is Theo’s best friend/bodyguard/ driver. Their constant banter and fights brought smiles to my face. I would love to have a story of this two because the sexual tension and like/ dislike banter was fantastic.

A bit about the couple Izzy and Theo

Izzy is a nurse living with her best friend. Even though she has fight to move forward in life some secrets of her past still affect her daily. Theo is a magnificent specimen of a man. Powerful, brooding, sexy and mysterious. He also has a dark past. One that has disabled his connection with people. He is always in control and doesn’t know the meaning of the word no.

So nurse stop to help victim and it’s attack in the process. Then comes the biggest, sexiest man she has ever encounter to save the day. This part was one I love a lot but at some point in the story it felt apart for me. Maybe it wasn’t a 5 stars for me but it can be for you.

Even though this wasn’t favorite book from Jodi I will be waiting for her next story.

**** I voluntarily read and review an advance copy of this book provided by Netgalley and Social Butterfly.

In Gentleman Sinner by Jodi Ellen Malpas, Nurse Izzy White has tried to leave her horrific past behind to focus on a career and her friendship with her roommate Jess. And with an upcoming holiday planned taking them from dreary London to exciting Vegas, she can't wait for her last few shifts to end. But when Izzy steps in to help a young woman lying hurt in an alleyway on her way home from work, her world changes in an instant as she meets a handsome but scary looking man who swoops in and saves the day. And Izzy somehow knows this isn't the last time she'll be seeing Theo Kane.

Theo's insistence in seeing Izzy and taking steps to protect her should annoy her. But it doesn't. She's never really felt safe as an adult, so to have the guy everyone seems to fear but who is nothing but kind and giving to her watching out over her, Izzy is forever thankful. As she gets to know Theo better and learns of his severe aversion to being touched, she knows he's every bit as damaged as she is. And she's not sure that it's a good idea to get too involved with a man with questionable business dealings, either. But Izzy can't imagine walking away from Theo and the newfound love they share, whether it's a good idea or not.

Powerful and sweepingly romantic while at the same time full of fiery passion, Gentleman Sinner was an unforgettable love story by uber talented Jodi Ellen Malpas.

What is it about the alpha heroes Jodi Ellen Malpas creates that makes them irresistible? In this case we had the gentleman sinner, Theo Kane, who was a charming, polished giant of a man with a seriously rough edge. Even though he scared pretty much everyone he met, you could just tell that he was so much more than his intimidating exterior. And that softer, gentlemanly side definitely came out around Izzy. Their connection was instant and so strong that those around them were wowed by it. Let alone Theo and Izzy being knocked off their feet with the magnetic draw they had.

Izzy and Theo's pasts were rather dark and bleak as we learned the details about what they had endured over the length of the book. I figured some of it out, but to get their memories of the specifics was simply heartbreaking. But I think that darkness they'd been through meant that Theo and Izzy cherished what they found together even more and it helped them understand each other on a level that not many around them could. As you would expect from a JEM novel, this had a steamy erotic feel to the love scenes and even had some light BDSM. It didn't overpower the core of the story, though, but instead enhanced the bond between Izzy and Theo.

Speaking of that bond, I have to say my favorite part was that even though Theo had an aversion to people touching him, it was heartmeltingly sweet the way he gave Izzy huge bear hugs, making her feel safe for the first time in her adult life. *dreamy sigh*

Two damaged characters tried to make each other whole again in Gentleman Sinner. Filled with raw emotions that ranged from the deepest rage to utter elation, Jodi Ellen Malpas wove together an incredible must-read tale that fans will certainly embrace.

I absolutely adored everything about this book. From the first time our heroine lays eyes on our hero in the most intriguing of ways, to the extremely satisfying epilogue, Gentleman Sinner is quintessential JEM perfection. We have another damaged yet protective alpha-male in Theo Kane but he’s more than that. Beneath his imposing physical stature, Theo is a kind and loving hero who is so drawn to the heroine in ways he’s not even sure how to explain. Izzy is a great female lead. She strong, having overcome so much in her life. She has a great career as a nurse which she adores, and she has Theo. Lucky lady!

The chemistry between these two is electrifying. My favorite part of this story is the mystery, intrigue and suspense that dominate these pages. I read the last 35% of the book in one sitting with my heart in my throat. I could not put it down. There is so much happening that keeps you literally on the edge of your seat turning pages faster than you thought possible just to know what happens and how it ends. There were a few times in the second half of the book where I literally gasped out loud and my mouth would fall open in shock. There is plenty of shock value in Gentleman Sinner. The epilogue was perfect. It wasn’t rushed or over the top. It was simply a perfect way to end their story.

One last thought on Theo Kane. He’s far from perfect, but he loves so completely. He reminded me of Jesse Ward in some ways. There were times when certain aspects of Gentleman Sinner reminded me of what it felt like to read Jesse and Ava for the first time in This Man. Dare I say it- but Theo Kane might be my favorite JEM hero second only to Mr. Ward. Izzy is definitely a top heroine, for sure. I hope we see more from these characters. I know Gentleman Sinner is a stand-alone but my heart doesn’t want to say goodbye just yet!

I’m a little sad because I had lots of expectations for this book. I was really excited but what I found was that it reminded me of the This Man series. There were similar aspects in this book that kept jarring my mind back to that series and thus I didn’t really fully enjoy Gentleman Sinner like I should have.

Theo Kane is a formidable man, larger than life and has a dark edge to him. He has an unavoidable chance meeting with Izzy and he knows this woman is different and meant to be his. Izzy is a nurse and not looking for a man. She has a past that is hard and traumatic. But meeting Theo envelopes her in a safety that she has never felt before. But each have secrets they are not willing to divulge to each other. Their feelings for one another are instant and their sexual chemistry is hot....but, there is a twist. And the twist goes back to his past.

Theo has a secret business. He has a best friend, Callum, who is also his bodyguard/driver/business associate and Theo’s mum, Judy, helps in his business. Izzy has a best friend, Jess, that she lives and works with. I enjoyed all these secondary characters. They added an added layer to Theo and Izzy’s story and I’m hoping that Callum and Jess get their own story.

So while I enjoyed the story, I just didn’t fully love it. Too many similarities for my taste and it be honest, The This Man series is one that can never be copied. I know Gentleman Sinner isn’t an exact copy but when coming from the same author, it sure didn’t feel original in my opinion.
