A delightful rom com. Trinity and Lucas are an unlikely pair. She is serious and focused. He is hyper and fun going. There is instant heat and attraction between the two. The dialogue is really of comedic proportions. The author really gets the imagination going with her use of language and the inner voice monologue of the characters. The angst that both Trinity and Lucas are dealing with in their personal lives add another level of depth to the plot of the story. It is beautiful and joyous.

Lucas is a partner in a law firm with his 2 best mates, but he's keeping secrets ... even from them. Trinity is a whiskey sommelier and has been over-protective of her sister since their parent's death. When they meet it is instant attraction, but when they find out that Lucas' client is Trinity's sister's ex ... they know they can't take their attraction any further ... or can they?

I just loved the way that Lucas was so care free in his personality and his choice of clothing made me laugh out loud. And I felt for Trinity wanting to protect her younger sister, but she needed to let go of her apron already. As for Trinity's sister, well ... I just wanted to slap her! Grow up and quit being so self-absorbed and look after your children. I really enjoyed this story and all the characters ... I can't wait for Grant and Aubrey's story next.

Illegally Yours is one of the most satisfying slow burns I’ve ever read!
Lucas and Trinity stole the show in the whiskey tasting scene in Down with Love and Illegally Yours picks up right from there, so you don’t have to read Down with Love - but you totally should! The sexy Brit and badass female whiskey sommelier have crazy chemistry but they also have a conflict of interest and so begins the slow burn. Meader craftily weaves friendship, banter, and sexy moments into a story that has you as anticipating THE MOMENT as much as Lucas and Trinity are!
I’ve been a fan of Meader for a while now and Eli Cooper, the sexy Chicago politician from Playing With Fire, has been my fave Chicago hottie but Lucas as stolen the show!
I’m beyond ready for Grant and Aubrey’s story and more excellent books from Kate Meader!

Beautiful couple! Trinity is the Whiskey Woman, meaning she does whiskey tastings for fancy lawyers and such. Lucas is the sexy divorce attorney with the British tongue. A chance meeting has them at odds with sarcastic wit and snide comments but they can't escape each other, turns out their lives cross and many paths. I truly love the personalities of these characters, I am very much like Trinity. Even Lucas' fashion sense, crazy golf pants with tshirts, is smart and funny. Although the previous couple makes a small cameo, this books is separate from theirs as will be the next one, Aubrey and Grant. Thanks to Netgalley for my review copy.

Lucas is a divorce attorney. Bonus that he's British and has a great personality. Trinity is a whiskey sommelier with a sister in the middle of a messy divorce. I really enjoyed their interactions - they were two fun characters and had a great spark between them. Where I didn't love this book as much was all the messy family drama that kept getting uncovered on both sides. It felt like too much to me. And the animosity between a couple of secondary characters distracted me from the main story, because I wanted to find out what the deal was with them - more tease for the third book in the series than I felt was necessary.

What a delightful romance! I'm a sucker for British heroes, and I'm a total sucker for romances in which the hero is younger than the heroine, so this story was perfect for me. I'm happy to say that it delivered on all fronts. I haven't read the first book in this series, but the blurb for this book - in which Lucas is the divorce attorney representing the husband of Trinity's younger sister - totally caught my attention, and I dove right in. I don't think you need to read the first book, but now that I've read this, I do think I'll go back and catch up.

Lucas is the youngest partner in his firm and specializes in securing custody rights for his (mostly male) clients. He initially comes off as kind of a goof and a clown, but like all good romance heroes, he has his own backstory that has shaped him and in this case made him wary of the way the courts tend to favor mothers over fathers. He meets Trinity at a bachelor party whiskey-tasting event for one of his partners and is immediately attracted to her, although she blows him off. She's a female whiskey sommelier and bartender in a male-dominated field and is used to dealing with male client come-ons. Her initial impression of Lucas is that he's gorgeous, but younger and too full of himself to waste any time on. She soon learns that Lucas is the new "shark" attorney that her jerk of a brother-in-law just hired, so she has even more reason to keep him at arms length. Of course, that soon proves to be impossible due to the strong attraction between them. Lucas doesn't know the word "no" and pursues her, although not in a stalkery kind of way, just an honest attraction that he doesn't want to walk away from because he recognizes how rare it is.

Both Lucas and Trinity have things to overcome to get to their HEA, but for the most part, I appreciated that they dealt with their issues like adults. Lucas was all-in right from the start, but Trinity was used to being her sister's protector and when she felt she was being backed into a corner where she'd have to choose between Lucas and her sister, she balked and had to work through her own issues and need for control. I'd also like to mention that beautiful cover. I think it captures the essence of this couple's relationship perfectly and especially matches Trinity to a T.

Cynical divorce attorney Lucas Wright keeps you entertained with all of his British phrases and opinions. He uses humor to cover some very obvious pain. When he meets whiskey expert Trinity Jones she brings out a different side of him. But a conflict of interest may end things before they can start.

Trinity Jones has always taken care of herself and as a young college student she takes on the responsibility of raising her younger sister. Trinity has silently suffered her own pain of rejection and never feeling valued.

Lucas and Trinity can finally find true happiness if they both acknowledge what they truly need in life.

Illegally Yours is all about Laws of Attraction. Talk about an awkward mess. Not exactly the happily ever after her sister planned for...

As the Hottie Brit, Lucas shines. As the shark divorce lawyer for the kinfolk, he's brutal. As a interested party in Trinity Jones, he's darn near perfect!

With enough emotional baggage to sink the Titanic, these two embark on a non- relationship, a friendship, and then....Then it gets complicated.

Sexy, sweet, and a perfect amount of realistically stubborn behaviors, Illegally Yours is a lovely distraction. Whether your one of Lucas' Birds or not, I know that you will fall for the cheeky Brit just as hard and fast.

I absolutely loved this story! Illegally Yours is the second novel in Kate Meader's Laws of Attraction series. Trinity and Lucas are the cutest couple I've read about in a long while and I was close to wishing their story didn't have to end.

Their drama is entertaining and moving at the same time. Trinity's sister is going through a nasty divorce and she believes it's her job to support her and be there with her every step of the way. When she realizes Lucas, the charming guy who may have caught her eye, is her brother-in-law's shark divorce lawyer things start to get quite complicated. Trinity is torn between loyalty to her sister and taking a risk on her own happiness. Even Lucas, the guy who acts like a clown but has a high level of intelligence and a strong character, battles loyalty to his own family and future prospects. I love that Trinity and Lucas have everything going against their relationship from ethics to personal loyalty. Despite those things, they give it their all and push past their own boundaries to test their relationship.

Every step towards the end of this story is fun and engaging. From the scandalous secrets to the tender moments between Trinity and Lucas, Illegally Yours has all the ups and downs you would want in a contemporary romance. I recommend this story for fans of Serena Bell, Alyssa Cole and Jasmine Guillory!

Illegally Yours is a sweet, fun romance in Kate Meader’s Laws Of Attraction series.
Kate has done a great job with all of the main and surrounding characters. Some you like, some you don’t and others you will want to know more about. Her writing was spot on and enjoyable with all British slang from Lucas. He was quite the charmer.
I enjoyed Lucas the witty, sexy Brit who always seems to have something to say. He is the perfect match to the independent, beautiful Trinity.
The sparks fly when they first meet, but this book keeps the slow burn simmering between the two. They have obstacles and challenges but I enjoyed the way they seemed to be their for each other even though everything between them is so new.

This is an honest review of a book that I received from the author and the publisher via NetGalley.

This story kept my interest and the characters seemed to have secrets that eventually come to light throughout the book. Trinity and Lucas seem right for each other but will her sister’s impending divorce keep them from being able to be together.

I would’ve given this book 5 stars but it seemed like the author used a lot of British slang even when it wasn’t Lucas talking. There were several words that I had to use my dictionary for and not because I don’t have a well-rounded vocabulary.

Charming, sexy, witty, alpha male with a sensitive side - that's Lucas Wright. Add in the British accent and he's about as close to perfect as it gets. He's also a bit broken, which serves to make him even more endearing. Enter Trinity Jones, and Lucas just may bite off more than he can chew. The sparks fly from their very first meeting, and the chemistry between them is off the charts even when Trinity refuses to admit it. There is some angst from both sides, and each of them have their share of family issues to deal with, but it's impossible not to like these two whether they're exchanging barbs or generating enough heat to set the curtains on fire. I really didn't think I could like this one as much as the first in this series, but this author has proven me wrong and with this second in the series, has set the bar quite high for whatever comes next. Illegally Yours is a brilliantly delightful read from start to finish. It's emotional, sexy, funny, engaging, and impossible to put down.

Cute, amusing, and intimate!

Illegally Yours is a passionate, lighthearted story that takes us back to Chicago and into the lives of the spirited, kindhearted Trinity and the cocky, charming, Lucas as they both discover there's more to life than familial responsibility and work.

The writing is crisp and sharp. The characters are supportive, dependable, and multi-layered. And the plot is an alluring tale full of sizzling attraction, heartfelt emotion, friendship, family, understanding, compromise, undeniable chemistry, delicious romance, and whiskey.

Illegally Yours is the second title in the Laws of Attraction series, and once again Meader has written a tender, cheeky, delightfully absorbing tale that left me entertained, satisfied and undoubtedly eager for more.

Sexy, scintillating, full of heart and emotional depth this latest romance from Ms. Meader makes a cozy read you wish never ends.
A whiskey tasting party is where it all begins and Lucas Wright's comments on the whiskies, when he's all in head first pronouncing the color as "piss" and if you're not sure what that means he has no qualms about following it up to pronounce "yourine" If that isn't enough to get your juices going then Lucas trying to send business Trinity's way by introducing him to a lawyer friend gets him doused in a glass of beer. He might've made it seem like he was propositioning for a threesome...……
So Trinity goes to the same school my mama and sisters went to because she has to unzip her front and retrieve her business card from her bra. Lucas not to be outdone attempts to grab his own business card from his own secret purse. OMG! and that's probably all in the first 5 pages. It's Kate Meader, so dear readers settle in and get comfortable cause you're not getting up until it's all gone.
Trinity's sister is in the midst of an ugly divorce and her lawyer is getting the rough end of her husband's shark of a lawyer so Trinity decides to step out on the wild side and use a favor to bring in the heavy guns. Consequently she goes to Max Henderson's office only to end up with Lucas. Yes you've guessed it, he's the shark and thanks to the possible conflict of interest sexual innuendo and hopes for more come to a crashing halt.
Certainly the universe is not happy to keep them apart so when Trinity shows up at her nephew's soccer practice, who should be coach but Lucas with his own admiration brigade who show up with their wine and folding chairs ready to watch the show.
It's not all rolling in the dirt laughing. Both Trinity and Lucas have a significant amount of baggage but Lucas's story when it comes to light is heart breaking. I laughed, I cried and kept my fingers crossed and my head down wishing the story would go on especially with the cute way it ends. I can't wait to read the next book in the series and revisit all the wonderful characters I've had the pleasure to meet so far.

At times you’ll have to just scratch your head.

The story in this book was great. It has great character development and a true understanding of how Lucas and Trinity think. The author does a great job with developing relationships between all characters. Very true life based. Hers what I found sooooo distractingly odd. We a lawyer from London so his accent and slang is understanding. However if all the other characters are from the US it should not have slang pronunciations from other countries. It’s very distracting.

Authors Blurb: I’m the kind of guy who believes that everyone deserves the best legal representation money can buy—which just so happens to be me, Lucas Wright. Give me your henpecked, your cuckolded, your irreconcilable differences yearning to break free! And if you’re the bad guy in your marriage, that’s cool too. Your green is as good as anyone’s.

Tell that to Trinity Jones. It’s my job to destroy her sister—the soon-to-be ex-wife of my a-hole of a client—and Trinity’s “big sis” instincts are dialed up to the max. I admire that. I admire her. But she won’t stop me from representing my client to the best of my ability.

Not even if my chemistry with Trinity is undeniable. Not even if we can’t keep our hands off each other. Not even if she injects life into a heart assumed to be long dead.

Because when faced with a choice between love and duty, the job will always win—or at least that’s what I thought before I met Trinity . . . and suddenly conflict of interest never felt so right.

With that being said I did really enjoy the book. However I went in reading it as an ARC and tend to leave room for improvement prior to publication.

The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

A hot-shot divorce lawyer falls in love with the sister-in-law of his client. Cute hate-love romance with interesting characters.

Lucas Wright loves being a fancy-free divorce lawyer. Yeah, some of his clients aren't the best but he really, really likes his life. Well, most of it.
Trinity Jones likes her work. She's like a sommelier but for whiskey. And she is good at her job. Her personal life is... more complicated. Especially when she meets Lucas and sparks immediately fly. But he's the man who is representing her sister's soon-to-be-ex-husband. And that relationship is already complicated. So how is this going to play out.
I liked Lucas. He was generally an adult and was trying to do the right thing. Mostly. Trinity was a bit of an enabler and I had a harder time connecting with her because it was frustrating to see what she was doing. Overall, an okay book -- didn't love the middle-endish but the ending felt like they might have a chance at HEA.

Charming, British lawyer meets overprotective, bar tending sister in this romance novel. Lucas comes off as a jerk and pretty much remains a jerk, even as he is falling for Trinity. Normally, I enjoy the enemies to lovers trope, but this story was not my favorite.

Have to admit that I struggled a bit with this book, mainly because I had difficulty liking the characters. At times, I honestly didn't like Lucas or Trinity so it was tough to root for them as a couple. Although, in the end, they did redeem themselves so I was happy to see them get their respective acts together. Fortunately, I have read and enjoyed other books by Kate Meader so I knew the book was worth finishing.
