This is an enlightening book. Youssef makes reference to a third jihad because there have been two already. He takes readers through the wars of Islamic conquest (622-751) and the wars of Islamic expansion (1302-1924). An American Islamist Imam in Washington DC called for an Islamic State of North America by 2050. Could that mean a third jihad is being planned?

Youssef is concerned that we in the West are not taking seriously the work of Islamists. He reminds us of the history of Islamic terrorism, dating back to the 1780 and the Barbary pirates. He is concerned that American leaders have not learned from history and few try to really understand the Muslim worldview.

I like his distinction between Muslims and Islamists. Islamists are zealous to make Sharia law the ultimate authority. There would be rules for every part of life. I like that Youssef explained the history of Islam so we can better understand their motives and strategies.

Youssef is concerned the church is sleeping rather than being salt and light to the world. He is concerned we are not aware of the nonviolent way Islamists are making inroads in education and areas of western culture.

Christians need the information contained in this book. We need to understand Islamic ideology and what it means for our future. I did find that Youssef was quite pro-Israel and pro-Republican and it colored some of his comments. Other than that, his book is informative and timely with critical information Christians need to know today.

The Third Jihad by Dr. Michael Youssef is an illuminating and yet terrifying book that attempts to show you the side of Jihad that is forgotten. How rare it is that a Christian, with a Coptic background is willing to bring his unique perspective to such a 'taboo' topic. History illuminates the points that the author brings out and he uses a variety of examples from the historical, geographical, philosophical, political, and religious aspects.

The Third Jihad doesn't spiral off into the "Glock & God" demise but rather truthfully shows that believers show more evidence of being salt and light. Great book but not for those looking for a do-nothing approach.

"The Third Jihad" by Michael Youssef is a great reminder of what is happening today in the world and the United States, the hidden Muslim agenda. He is a Coptic Christian and familiar first hand with the way things are in Muslim countries for anyone who believes differently. The author is presenting a lot of historic information, and we all know that the past is the key to future. Today, the history is twisted, and, especially online, there are convincing articles how people used to accept Islam with a smile on their faces. Nothing could be further from the truth. Michael Youssef is very respectful of everyone and their belief in the book, while making a strong point. It is a must read whether you are Christian or not.

THE THIRD JIHAD by MICHAEL YOUSSEF is a real eye opener! The description on the front cover says,"OVERCOMING RADICAL ISLAM'S PLAN FOR THE WEST, and that is what the author shows us to do as Christians who stand for the truth, praying earnestly for the Lord to send revival.
It is a well written book, which in no way advocates hatred towards Muslims, whilst coming against the insidious infiltration of Islam, particularly into the West, giving examples of incidents in America and England when those in authority have been too afraid of being perceived as anti Islam or not "politically correct" to stand up for the rights of non Muslims.
The historical facts are well laid out for us and the author has obviously done a great deal of research. He shows how Islam, from its inception, took over countries, turning churches into mosques and bringing in Sharia law wherever they could. He tells us of the First and Second Jihads and shows the similarities between those times and those in which we live. In so many countries, especially in Europe, the church is dead, and in some churches in the West false doctrine is being preached. Christianity has become diluted with apathy and worldliness.
As always, there is hope, and this is strongly brought out in the book, as we are encouraged to stand strong in the Lord "and in the power of His might", reading, memorizing and meditating on His Word.
It is an excellent read, and we need to take heed of the warning signs, and, as the Lord said to Joshua, "Be strong and very courageous", trusting Him and spreading the truth of His Word in love.

Oh, that we would heed the wisdom of Michael Youssef. The author is very knowledgeable on this subject and I wish the West would wake up!
