I wasn’t able to finish this book. Because of this, it is my policy not to review the book on my site or on Goodreads/Amazon. I also didn’t mark it DNF.

Thank you Inner Traditions and Netgalley for this ARC.

I read this book along with a number of others in my recent ‘Emotional Intelligence’ themed reading. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting an easy, enjoyable read on managing emotions and gaining wisdom on our often imbedded human behaviours. Sandy NewBigging outlines a five step method which utilises EFT to understand our unconscious mind and how this, along with deep set belief systems impact our daily life if we don’t pay attention.

As well as the fundamentals of emotions Sandy also introduces techniques such as Tapping In this Informative, engaging, easy to read book.
Thank you for this highly recommended ARC.

With so much information and technology and mindless tv filling our brains, it can influence us into believing things and our behavior patterns, not to mention hogging important spaces in our mindspace. This shows that sometimes we need a mind detox, especially if there's a lot of toxicity embedded in there, and how to detox our mind from toxicity and overcrowding.

Thank you #NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to review an advance copy of this book, and extra thanks for the assistance with contacting the publisher so that I could get a readable review copy when my downloaded file had a glitch. I really wanted to read this book, and they went above and beyond to help me.

Mind Detox teaches you a very practical method of paying attention to how your body reacts to your emotions, how to regain a sense of calm, and how to identify the root cause of your emotional reaction to a situation.

It's written in very easy to follow language, without a lot of jargon, and it's a very enjoyable and educational read. I also like the fact that the author, Sandy C. Newbigging, includes mention of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique aka "Tapping") as an additional tool.

If this book taught me anything, it's just how much your emotions really effect your day to day life as well as your health. I know I've kind of been on a self help book kick lately, and although I wasn't sure I would like them at first, I've really gotten into them, and noticed that a lot of non-fiction is actually really interesting despite what I've thought in the past.

Mind Detox is something that claims that it will benefit everyone who reads it. I wasn't sure that was true before I started it, but I feel like I've actually learned a lot about my emotions. Not only does it teach you how your body reacts to your emotions, but it also gives you a ton of ways to stay calm, achieve inner peace, and really just feel better.

I found a lot of really nice quotes in this book, ones that I want to remember. "To increase health, we must decrease stress." is just one that sounded important, so I thought that I should write it down. I also learned that relationships should be for giving love first rather than getting love, which feels like something a lot of people should know. This book is about removing the bad feelings from your memories, and learning to detach enough so that you don't associate your daily life with those feelings. The other thing that it's about, is learning to work through your emotions, and that it's okay to feel those things, just put a positive spin on it, and learn to let things go easily.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I think if you need to read something that will help you grow or help you become a more positive person, than this is the book you need to read next. Books like this make me want to read more on the same kind of topics. Definitely check it out if you get a chance.

Thanks for reading!

In Mind Detox, Sandy C. Newbigging reveals a 5-step method for detoxing the unconscious mind and resolving physical, emotional, and life problems. The author explains how to roll back in time to discover the significant emotional event, the root-cause experience, that shaped the core beliefs that trigger your chronic condition or behavior patterns. Releasing you from your root-cause events, the past events no longer negatively impact you today, you find peace in the present, and your body becomes more able to heal.

I've read a lot of self help books, but none of them has come close to this book. It was insightful and helps you really get to the core of what's afflicting you. Once you understand your
ailment then you can learn how to let it go and heal. It's a truly wonderful book that helps heal you from the inside out.
