I have fallen in love with siblings of the St. John family through the previous two books in this series and was excited to read this one and get to know Brady. He is on vacation at a cabin trying to relax when he hears a woman scream. He reacts and jumps into the water to help her, it quickly becomes obvious someone is trying to kill her. He sets out to protect her and try to figure out why someone wants her dead. It seemed like there was never a quiet moment for them, just as they escape one threat another threat appears. I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation to see if they will catch the villain or villains before Emily or Brady get hurt.

There are parts of the story given from the villain’s viewpoint but I could not figure out who was really calling the shots. While at times it was confusing trying to figure out how various characters tied together and who was really behind what was going on, everything was wrapped up and tied together by the end that all my questions were answered.

I enjoyed the interaction between Emily and Brady and was pleased with the way their relationship progressed. Emily was able to help Brady rediscover his relationship with God through her faith and actions. While Brady was able to help Emily deal with some of her insecurity and see that she was beautiful no matter what her size was. The St. John siblings added a wonderful addition to the story, not only did their banter lighten the mood at times but their support for one another helped solve the case. It was wonderful to reconnect with previous characters and get an update of what was going on with them. I especially enjoyed how Ms. Eason involved characters from Lynn Blackburn’s Dive Team Investigation series.

I now (not so patiently) wait for the next book in the series to be released so I can spend more time with this family.

I really enjoyed this latest from Eason. It was a fast read for me because I kept getting so engrossed in the story.

I loved Brady. I love heroes that don't hesitate, always do what is right, and who aren't afraid to grow emotionally and spiritually in a book. It was also really fun to be with the St John family again. I'd forgotten how much I love them. I also really liked Emily, but she didn't capture my heart the way Brady did even though I did love her strong Christian faith throughout the book.

One thing that I really loved in this book was the SCUBA diving! I've never been and I think I'd be afraid to try, but it was really fun to have so much of it in this book. Part of why I love reading is being able to experience new things!

I did feel like the romance moved a little too fast, but it is fiction and it was a good book.

I received an advanced copy from the publisher through NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.

Book three in the Blue Justice series opens with Officer Brady St. John, who is on vacation at a lake house in an attempt to get his head on straight from a recent rough patch. When forensic accountant Emily Chastain appears on the lake -trapped in a boat with her kidnapper- Brady rescues her, and their adventure begins.

It's quickly apparent that Emily was targeted for something far bigger than she knows, and she and Brady are forced to go on the offensive. With attacks on every side, connections to human trafficking, greed, and numerous revenge plots, it's even possible that more than one mystery is at play here. Will Emily and Brady make it out alive? Will their past traumas allow them to see the other for who they really are? Can they learn to trust again?

Must be the season for book threes! As always, my opinion on reading the series in order stands. However, this book includes only a few small references to previous books and I believe it can be read without the first two, if necessary. As always, your experience is far enhanced by reading them in order. I will gladly recommend all three books in this series.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Baker Publishing Group in exchange for my honest review.

Plenty of action in the third book of the Blue Justice Series! The action begins in the initial pages and continues to the end. It was nice to catch up a little with the St. John siblings in this novel focused on Brady St. John. I loved the character tie-in with Lynn Blackburn's Beneath the Surface. What I enjoyed most about Code of Valor was Emily Chastain. She had a tough childhood and struggled with her weight among other things as a teenager. She is a wonderful example of how God can change behavior and outlook.

I look forward to reading the conclusion of the series which focuses on Lincoln St. John.

I have read every book by Lynette Eason and love them all. Code of Valor is book three in the Blue Justice Series. It continues to follow another St. John family member on their own adventure. This story begins with Brady St. John trying to relax on a much needed vacation. But one evening, he hears a boat and a scream and runs to investigate.

After rescuing Emily from certain death, Brady now has to keep her alive and fight his own growing attraction to her. In true Eason style, Code of Valor, is a non-stop, heart pumping ride of gunshots, mystery, and a little romance. A good read for anyone who likes clean novels with suspense.

What Detective Brady St. John really needs is a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, just as the sun is setting on his second day at a friend's cabin on Lake Henley, he hears a scream and races to rescue a woman from her would-be killer. When the killer escapes only to return to finish the job, Brady vows to utilize all of his many resources to keep her safe--and catch those who would see her dead.

Financial crimes investigator Emily Chastain doesn't trust many people. And even though she let the detective who saved her life in on a few pertinent facts about why she was being attacked, there are some things you just don't share with a stranger. Little does she suspect that the secret she is keeping just might get them both killed.

Another great book by Lynette Eason. An edge of your seat book that I couldn't put down. There is action throughout the entire book. Just when I thought I had the plot figured out, there was a twist. I love how the entire St John family comes together to help each other. When one of them is in trouble they are there immediately. This is book three in the Blue Justice series. It's not necessary read the first two. But they are so good so I'd recommend them. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

I’ve come to love and look forward to spending time with the St. John family, and this time it is Brady’s turn, and most of this family at least peek in for a visit with us.
This book has it all, a bit of sweet romance, injustice, murder for greed, and non-stop action. Yes, you are going to be page turning for answers, and beware when they come you will be shaking your head, a big Wow to the Lynette Eason, I love how your mind works, I never would have come to the conclusion this book does.
I still want more visits with this family and author, this story will keep your attention for sure!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

Follow Emily and Brady as they figure out who is trying to kill Emily. Her best friend is missing and everywhere Emily turns someone is trying to silence her. Emily has stumbled upon information at the bank she works that leads her into a web of deceit. An excellent book. Keeps you guessing until the end. I was given a free copy by Net Galley and Revell for my honest opinion.

The Blue Justice series is such a great series. It has everything to make a great suspense...real and likable characters, edge of the seat tension and a mystery to solve. The St. John family in Columbia, South Carolina is a family of law enforcement officers from the mother as chief of police to her children holding different positions in the department to one son in the FBI. The siblings are close and have each other's backs.
Code of Valor starts off with a bang when reporter Heather Gilstrap is attacked as she is leaving work. She gets a 911 call off but she and her car are missing when police arrive. She and her best friend, Emily Chastain, a financial crimes investigator are investigating a banking scheme that appears to involve human trafficking. Then Emily is kidnapped. Detective Brady St. John needs a break from work and is spending a couple weeks at a friend's lake cabin. When he saw a struggle on a boat and heard a scream from woman in the boat, he is able to rescue her when she gets away and into the water. The woman was Emily. Brady and Emily are getting dry clothes on when they are drawn out of the house when molotov cocktails are thrown into the house. This is the beginning of a long adventure to stay safe and away from the people trying to get to Emily and to figure out what has happened to Heather. Different members of the family and the local police departments work to solve the mystery. There are several people that seem to want to get to Emily and the mystery is not an easy one to solve.
I have enjoyed all of the books in the series and look forward to the next one(s). This book drew me in from the beginning and keep me involved until the end. Expect danger, edginess, romantic attraction and faith to face what happens. Another great Lynette Eason book.

Code of Valor is the third book in the Blue Justice series and may be my favorite yet. There was suspense and and action on practically every page. What I enjoyed was the banter between the siblings. I don't remember that so much in the others. There may have been and I just forgot. But I love this family!! The romance was sweet and my heart went out to the heroine, Emily. She had been through so much and was a brave and strong young woman.

Even though this is the third book I believe it could be read as a stand alone with no problem.

It is always great to reconnect with the St. John family. Code of Valor focuses on Brady, who while vacationing while recuperating from a really bad relationship, jumped in to save Emily Chastain from being murdered, not knowing that this would be the first of many times that he would have to save her life. Emily, a financial crimes investigator for a bank, had stumbled across some suspicious activity that pointed forward human trafficking. Along with her friend, reporter Heather Gilstrap, Emily was seeking enough information to take to the authorities, unfortunately, their investigation did not go without notice.

This suspense novel holds the readers' interest with carefully paced clues as well as carefully withheld information, dolled out at just the right place in the story. The dialogue is well written, and the characters' faith comes across as believable and authentic. Fans of Lynn H. Blackburn's Dive Team Investigations will be happy to see some of her characters included in Eason's story.

I am a big fan of Lynette Eason's writing, and Code of Valor did not disappoint. I appreciate receiving this copy from Revell Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review and received no monetary compensation.

I have mixed feelings about this novel. The plot is very complex. Emily is a crimes investigator with a bank. She suspects nefarious acts and tells her friend, a newspaper reporter. The reporter goes missing and Emily survives a kidnapping and murder attempt, thanks to Brady St. John. The complex plot is off and running.

Emily supposedly has some information the bad guys want. She doesn't know what it is and when she does become aware of it she does not know its significance. Readers are kept in the dark about the villain, his identity deliberately obscured so we wonder if we would know who he is if his name was used. Then the plot gets even more complex when someone trying to kill Emily is himself killed. So there are two groups of people after her, one wanting her dead while the other wants her alive?

One aspect of a novel I cannot tolerate is suspense caused by the stupidity of a main character. It happens here. Emily leaves secured protection, even after there had been several attempts on her life, even when she promised Brady she would stay there. It was no surprise to me that she was soon in danger. I like it when an author figures out a clever way to build suspense, not at the expense of the stupidity of the main character. Emily had seemed resilient to me and that she would make such a stupid move, especially after being rescued from near death several times, just irritated me.

I was also disappointed that Brady became very open and expressive about his growing affection for Emily. Granted, he is technically on vacation, but he has been protecting her in an official capacity. That he would be so emotionally involved with a woman he is protecting did not seem very professional at all.

Readers who like a romantic suspense novel with a very complex plot and don't mind the issues I mentioned above will like this novel.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

I have continued to enjoy Eason's books. They are hard to put down once you are into them and this one is just the same. I recommend Eason to patrons who want a good story but don't want the profanity and the sex that often goes with that.

Code Of Valor is a prime example of why Lynette Eason is at the very top of my favorite author list. She opens the book by jumping in with both feet, and she grabs your mind and heart right from the beginning and doesn’t let go until the very end. In this story, Brady and Emily are such a gentle, unassuming couple who literally dodge bullets through the whole story. You want to hug them, cheer them on, and become their best friend. They both have a rough background, but they don’t let that stand in the way of forging what you know will be a life-long relationship. Lynette’s way of introducing characters and putting them in the middle of nail biting situations is what puts her on the cutting edge of being an author. What I really like is that while there is some “down time” in her books, she keeps the action and the suspense in a continual mode, keeping the reader on the edge of his/her seat. The only bad thing about Lynette’s books?....they eventually have to come to an end. But the characters you meet in her books are friends I will forever think about.

Code of Valor is one wild, crazy ride from page one until the end! I've been so looking forward to Brady's story, and it did not disappoint.

Our female MC, Emily, is a very complex character, and I greatly enjoyed her story. Eason touches on some very pertinent issues with her character, which I really liked. Brady seemed a little lacking in depth, but I still really liked his character.

The plot is convoluted and gripping, and the action doesn't stop. You will not be able to put this one down! This book might just be my favorite in the series. Also, can we talk about that gorgeous cover? All the covers in the series are just so gorgeous!

All in all, I greatly enjoyed this explosive release from Lynette Eason! Highly recommended!

CONTENT NOTE: Lots of violence, shootings, near-death situations, etc. Some romance, kissing, hugging, attraction, etc. [In high school, Emily gets pregnant, and the scene is mentioned, although not in detail. Her father is also abusive.] Recommended for ages 17+.

Lynette Eason knows how to keep the reader turning the page. Code of Valor captured my attention with the first line and made me feel like I had been transported into the story running for my life with Emily Chastain, a Financial Crimes Investigator, and Detective Brady St. John.
While Brady is trying to relax at the rental cabin and enjoy a much-needed vacation, screams devour the silence, and he instinctively reaches for his weapon. Brady spots a man pointing a gun at a woman on a boat in the middle of the lake. When he yells for the man to let her go, shots are fired at him instead. The woman throws herself into the lake, and the boat speeds away.
Brady jumps into the water and rescues her before she drowns. After pulling Emily to safety, the plot thickens, and a stream of non-stop action and suspense fill the pages. If you’re looking for a fast-paced novel, you’ll love this one.
*A special thank you to the publisher for the complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This third book of the series doesn't lack suspense, romance or Christian background - but the case is not really logical. Where did they ever get a clue that this case was about human trafficking? Illegal money is known to come from all kinds of illegal activity. I don't want to give spoilers, but the activities of the criminals seem at the same time random and organized and the acting villains are lifeless and cliché.

While this is not my first book by Lynette Eason, it is the first I've read from the Blue Justice series. Code of Valor is the 3rd book in the series and after reading this one I'll definitely have to go back and read the other two. It's another very good suspense by Eason.

Main characters Brady St. John and Emily Chastain are both thrown into a race to solve a deadly mystery when Brady saves Emily from being kidnapped while he's supposed to be relaxing on vacation. Brady uses his connections as a detective and Emily brings in her knowledge as a financial crimes investigator to figure out why someone would kidnap her and try to locate her missing friend.

I loved that Emily doesn't have a squeaky clean past and that she's continuing to work through many struggles with help from the Lord. Brady's spiritual growth doesn't seem as authentic, but overall he's a great character. There was plenty of suspense in the book, and the supporting characters were great. At times all the stuff going on seemed a bit much, but overall it was a very enjoyable book.

I love the St. John family. They work tirelessly for justice and love and support each other unconditionally. That care often extends to those they encounter on the job in need of help…people like Emily, a financial crimes investigator, who finds her life in danger. She is pursued relentlessly and doesn’t exactly know why. The sense of danger never stops.
Brady St. John is one of my favorite characters. He sees beneath the surface and doesn’t make rash judgments. He’s a knight in shining armor who sees the beauty within and isn’t just stirred by external appearances like a storybook prince. While things don’t always go his way, and he struggles with how God can be good and allow hard things to happen, he is willing to listen and grow.
The St. Johns are similar to the family on tv’s “Blue Bloods.” I would highly recommend this book and this series to anyone who enjoys police dramas. Thank you to Revell for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Blue Justice series:
Book 1: Oath of Honor
Book 2: Called To Protect
Book 3: Code of Valor

Another super enjoyable Lynette Eason suspense book! Her books are literally perfect...there is always a wonderful mystery, nail biting suspense and a sweet romance to keep the book unputdownable. I devoured this book in less than 24 hours being completely taken in by Emily and Brady as main characters. Oh and cheers to a beautiful strong female lead character not being your typical 'thin' lady, it was very refreshing :)

Thank you to the publishers for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am very happy to recommend both this book and its series.
