A huge book with a ton of patterns. It's really something to have so many possibilities at your fingertips as a knitter. Something for everyone.

A great book of patterns for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced knitter. This would come in handy for anyone who knits and the people who love them.

This is a really nice and big collection of the best Interweave patterns from recent years. All kinds of patterns, all very different and beautiful. Lots of new techniques to learn. Lots of cable and lace. The patterns mostly have charts and not row by row written instructions. I like how they photograph the models so they clearly show the design in most cases. Just as in the magazine, they put a chart with measurements for sweaters so you know what to expect.
You may want to check all the designs and what people did with them on ravelry. Search by the book name on ravelry.
You get tons of elegant well designed and well written and many times proven patterns.

Definitely an "ultimate" book! So many classic, great patterns to love. The book is laid out in a very easy to follow format with beautiful photography. Will buy!

A treasure trove of knitting projects for you to get your teeth into, which is especially welcome during these cold winter months.

100 Knits is a new collection of previously released knitting patterns from Interweave Knits magazine, Knitscene, special holiday releases and a few miscellaneous other sources. Released 2nd Oct 2018 by Interweave in collaboration with F+W, it's an encyclopedic 512 (!) pages and available in hardcover format.

I'm a magpie knitter. I spend a ridiculous amount of time on Ravelry with a list as long as my arm of 'must knits'. I also often find myself flipping through knitting magazines and thinking 'I must remember this pattern and do it later'. I generally forget where I've seen the project and spend a large amount of time with the nagging feeling of not being able to remember where I saw it.

When I was flipping through this colossal collection, there were several projects which immediately dinged that 'THAT' project bell up in my head. It's so cool to have them at my fingertips and know where they are instead of having to look through years of magazines and books to (maybe) find the particular one I'm looking for. This book literally made me really happy.

The projects are up to Interweave's artisanal standards. They're beautifully curated and most types of knitwear is represented. There is a dearth of plus sized, men's and children's projects, mittens, and there aren't any afghans/quilts/decor projects. There are a number of unisex projects (mostly hats and cowls) which are suitable for and pictured with both male and female models.

There are so many of these I want to do. In fact, the projects I didn't want to do were by far in the minority.

The designers are credited on each of their projects. Many of these projects have coordinating projects on Ravelry, just search by designer (or project). Many of these have literally thousands of finishes in the Ravelry galleries. Truly impressive.

Classic, funky, gorgeous, stylish, beatnik, hipster, whatever you're looking for, there's something in this collection which will satisfy.

This is the ultimate collection of Interweve patterns, with socks, hats, shawls and sweaters galore. The book is huge and has most of their best patterns throughout the years, including the fan favorite Central Park Hoodie. It’s nice to have all these patterns in one place since a lot of them are from Interweave Knits magazine, many issues of which I have lost or have become worn out. I received an arc copy of this book via netgalley in exchange for my honest review, but I will most certainly be ordering the hard copy of this precious knitting collection!

If you’ve been a knitter for any length of time, you are are aware of Interweave. It is pretty much the magazine for knitters.

In this huge pattern book, they’ve brought together a brilliant amount of patterns for knitting accessories, cardigans and pullovers. Included are Evelyn Clark’s Swallowtail Shawl pattern and Heather Lodinsky’s Central Park Hoodie, which, if you’re on Ravely, you know, if you’ve not already knitted these patterns.

While all of the included patterns are very wearable and beautiful, there are not many patterns that a newish knitter could easily make. So this is definitely a pattern book for the intermediate to advanced knitters out there.

Not all of the patterns have written directions, so if you aren’t a fan of charts, this may not be for you.

All in all, it’s a beautiful book with a lot of exquisite knits just longing to be on your needles.

This is a great collection of patterns. As I paged through this book, I saw sweater after sweater that I wanted to make. Many are complicated, but look like they are well worth the investment of time, yarn and effort.

The first thing, I noticed about this collection are that there are no gloves/mitts/items for hands. The book doesn't claim to contain any knitted items for hands, but a collection of 100 knits without these sort of projects seems a little odd to me. There are some hats, socks, and cowls/scarves/shawls, but if you're primarily a hat or sock or shawl knitter, you might want to look for another collection. What is great about this pattern collection is the sweaters. There are tons of gorgeous sweaters, both cardigans and pullovers, knit in various ways (in the round, seamed, modular). Even though some of these patterns are older, none of them seem particularly dated. There doesn't seem to be a lot of overlap with Interweave pattern collections I've perused in the past. Another consideration: only one of these sweaters is masculine.

I love reading knitting books. I read more knitting patterns just for the inspiration and to learn something new. My home library and Ravelry library has far more books and patterns than what I can ever knit in my lifetime..

So, when the opportunity arose to review 100 Knits from the editors of Interweave, I was really excited to look over what was to be considered 100 of Interweave Knitting Magazine’s most favorite patterns. I was not disappointed! Designers included Amy Herzog, Romi Hill, Susanna IC, Bristol Ivy. Classic patterns such as The Central Park Hoodie, Swallowtail Shawl, Ennis Pullover and one of my favorites, the Dahlia Cardigan. The photography is gorgeous and styling inspirational. You will be shopping your stash or your favorite yarn source because you will have found a project you just HAVE to do.

I am giving this book 4 stars. Pattern charts, at least at the time I have written this review, are not always in the order that you need them for knitting. Or the chart is turned on the page for length while the key for the chart remains in the regular position. I find that there is some inconsistency with sizing from designer to designer. An irk of mine. Some of the pattern organization differs. And, with Interweave books, you need to check their website for pattern errata. Will that be possible for a book of patterns that were originally published in a magazine? This is where I have come to really appreciate Ravelry. Patterns are test knitted. Any errata is automatically updated to everyone who has purchased a pattern through Ravelry.

All in all, this book will be added to my shelf. It has met my criteria of there are nough patterns I like that are greater in value than the purchase price of the book. Thank you to F&W Publishing and Interweave for the opportunity to review 100 Knits.

This is an extremely comprehensive set of patterns put together by Interweave, which includes patterns for cowls, pullovers, tanks, t-shirts, and hats. As a beginner knitter, the patterns seemed advanced (lacework, colour work, use of charts) and would appeal to those looking for more advanced options. Although I am a beginner, I did find several options that I would consider attempting even now.

Overall, this seems to be a beautiful book with many patterns, but I wasn't drawn to a lot of the patterns, as they just happened not to fit my style, so I would give it a 3.5 (rounded up). They seemed quite complex and a bit more traditional than I would wear. For those who prefer more traditional options, I think that there is a lot here.

A book full of knitting treats. Lovely photos, easy to understand instructions and schematics. I thought 100 knits in one book, would mean a lot of small projects, but there are probably just as many jumpers and cardigans in here as there are smaller projects. There are so many intriguing patterns, and my only problem with this is that I will never have time to make all the items in here which I would like to make.

I couldn't download this book, so I am unable to review it. I do not support the format of this book on my computer, unfortunately. I only read mobi or pdf.

Does Interweave ever disappoint us? Never ever been disappointed with Interweave products and this is one of their best books ever! The socks are so beautiful. So many sweaters, where did they get all these? This is a must have book for me. Thanks to NetGalley for the free copy and to Interweave Press for gathering such a great compilation of patterns in this book! I’ll be knitting socks first.

Plenty of patterns to choose from with something for everyone. From easy hats, scarfs and cowls to the more complicated cardigans and sweaters. I’ve already earmarked quite a few for my next project. So much inspiration in one book.

A wonderful collection of designers and patterns, with enough variety to please every knitter. Destined for a treasured place in my library.

I had an AWESOME chance to flip through and review this incredible book from Interweave. 100 Knits features various knitwear and accessories from some of knitting’s biggest designers like Norah Gaughan, Jared Floor, and Anne Hanson. The patterns are divided into various categories like hats, sweaters, scarves, etc and feature some of the most popular and well-loved patterns from Interweave Knits rich history. As someone who enjoys knitting (but doesn’t do it nearly enough) I found myself drooling over the gorgeous photographs, detailed instructions, and beautiful stitch patterns. I’ve returned to this book over and over just to dream and plot my next project. This book is a MUST for you or the knitter in your life and would make an incredible Christmas gift!
