Because the ARC digital format provided was so awkward and was taking so long just to turn a single page, I ended up grabbing a copy at the local bookstore to examine. I liked 100 KNITS so much, I bought one. This has a variety of patterns; it’s a great resource for beautiful garments: hats, socks, scarves, cowls, shawls, sweaters, and cardigans. This is fantastic for experienced knitters.

Great book with a variety of projects, textures and inspiration for knitters of all abilities. Can't wait to start making my first project from the book.

With over 500 pages of knitting patterns this book is a must have for any knitter. The book is divided into sections of Hats/Socks, Scarves/Cowls/Shawls/Wraps, Cardigans, Pullovers, Tanks/Tees, all are beautifully photographed and simple to make, there are coloured graphs for fair isle, lace and cable patterns which are very easy to follow. There are many designers who have contributed to this book, and all designs are from the Interweave collections, and all time favourite knitting patterns.
With 100 patterns there is quite a few for everyone to be busily knitting for all year round.

I own every edition of Interweave knits so I have the patterns....but it is terrific to have them all in one spot. This is a solid collection of wearables. There is a heavy emphasis on sweaters which is good from my point of view. Lots of cowls which I dislike. I was disappointed that the swallowtail shawl was missing the charting completely. I hope that gets fixed in later editions. The photographs overall are excellent showing items from several points of view.

Interweave knitting has pulled together a bonanza of their popular knitting patterns into a treasure trove of a book. With patterns from many of my favorite, and trusted designers, there is something here for almost everyone.

Particularly of note are the accessories sections, with scarves and hats in every weight of yarn, a phenomenal stash-busting value.

There are lots and lots of pullovers and cardigans, featuring color work, lace and cables, in mostly classical styles. (A small negative is that there are surprisingly few options in men’s sizes.) Several of the t’s were already in my Ravelry favorites, and a winter’s worth of sweater options sent me diving into my stash hoping I had sweater quantities of an appropriate fiber!

I think this would be a wonderful addition to any knitter's library. Looking through the patterns there were so many that I would like to knit...some are even in my queue on Ravelry already!

Another great collection of knitting patterns from Interweave! With 100 designs in a variety of styles, any knitter is sure to find plenty of inspiration for future projects in this large volume. Many of the included designs have been previously published in various Interweave publications (magazines, books) so some will be familiar to fans of Interweave, however, this collection would be a wonderful addition to most knitters' pattern libraries. The items are beautifully photographed, including multiple photos to show details when needed. Lace, colorwork and cabled designs are charted as well as written. My only complaint is that a few project samples were knit in dark yarn, making detail difficult to see at times. Normally, when browsing books of knitting patterns, I may find a few I'd like to knit. In this case, I found a ton of patterns I'd love to make myself in this book.

I really liked the photography in this. The pictures are nice and clear, including the pattern/lace charts. There were a few instructions that looked difficult but my knitting skills aren't up to those yet. However many of the patterns looked doable for my skills and I'd definitely learn more skills. There are many patterns that I'd like to try.

An amazing book-full of utterly beautiful patterns. So much so that my step daughter is already starting on one of the patterns. Highly recommended and a must for any knitter.

Wow, such talented designers! For me, majority of this book is for advanced knitters especially when you get in the clothing aspect part of the book. There are so many beautiful photos that capture each knitted project elegantly. Yes each project does include a photo and a few of up close detailed views and of technical stitches of the pattern. This is the first book I have seen that each project is very fashionable (with yarns/patterns used) enough to where I would make and wear each one. I haven't come across anything like that in a knitting book I've seen. I believe this will be well worth the $ spent.

Personal Note: I had taken a knitwear design class when I was in college (10 years ago) and I almost wished I kept up my knitting to stay familiar with the techniques. As of right now, I'm back into the knitting and crocheting mood so I'm basically at back to basics. Tutorial videos here I come lol!

Love the comfy cozy sweaters in this book!! Well detailed patterns. Amazing pictures so you get a feel for what your project should look like. The perfect book for a beginner knitter looking to expand your capabilities and push they to the next level. My favorite, and first project will be the Central Park Hoodie!!!

Interweave, the company that publishes Interweave Knits and Knitscene has released 100 Knits: Interweave's Ultimate Pattern Collection. The patterns are arranged in five sections: 1) Hats and Socks, 2) Scarves, Cowls, Shawls and Wraps, 3) Cardigans, 4) Pullovers, and 5) Tanks and Tees. There are projects that feature colourwork, intarsia, lace, stockinette, garter stitch or cables. There's even a tutorial on circular grafting.


A lot of patterns that appear have been previously published in Interweave publications. When I glanced through 100 Knits and checked the pattern listings for this book on Ravelry, there are patterns in the collection that have dated as far back as 2006, but with the bulk of the patterns dating between 2014 to 2017. Most of them have appeared in past issues of Interweave Knits and Knitscene magazines. Other designers include Rosemary (Romi) Hill, Susanna IC, Isabell Kraemer, Holli Yeoh, Mari Chiba, Kristen TenDyke, Cecily Glowik MacDonald, Shirley Paden, Tanis Gray, Norah Gaughan, and Amy Christoffers, who has at least five of her patterns in 100 Knits.


I really like this pattern collection. It's a hefty price to pay at $45 US, but, it has many lovely patterns in it. I could see myself wanting to knit many of the designs in this book. Just looking at the designs that have previously appeared in New Directions in Sock Knitting and Garter Stitch Revival have piqued my interested in searching for those two books. However, I already own a number of these patterns that appear in 100 Knits through my knitting magazine collection. If I didn't already own these, I would probably be seriously drooling over this book. For the knitter who doesn't already have issues of Interweave Knits and Knitscene magazines from the past four years, 100 Knits may offer a fantastic collection of designs to knit from.

Interweave is well-known in the knitting community, and this volume of patterns shows why. It is a painstakingly curated collection, ranging from more simple hat patterns to intricate shawls and sweaters. Every garment is beautifully photographed from multiple angles to display every design element present. The one downside is that there is not much in the way of men's or children's patterns, which may disappoint many knitters.

Great book, great patterns. Some truly inspirational patterns, I particularly love the Lucy hat. I love that the book contains patterns from a range of different creators, it’s a must for anyone that loves to knit.

100 Knits, Interweave's Ultimate Pattern Collection is a beautiful treasury of knitting patterns for all skill levels. Knitters will find the following patterns: 10 hats, 6 socks, 2 scarves, 12 cowls, 12 shawls, 21 cardigans, 26 pullovers/sweaters and 11 tanks and tees. Each pattern is accompanied by colour photos and charts, where necessary. You will also find a descriptive list of the designers whose work is on display in this book. All in all, this is a great book to add to any knitter's library. There is something for everyone here, and the most difficult decision will be where to start. This is such a great collection of patterns! Even if someone isn't looking to make an exact copy, they will find plenty of inspiration within these pages. Great textures, lace work, and shaping make this a great book for knitters.

Eye candy for knitters – just amazing with inspiration on every page!

Having knit since I was eight I have tried most stitches and have made many items over the past six decades. The socks I saw make me want to take up knitting needles again. The lace patterns varied from gossamer to slightly more dense. The cable patters were incredible and how they wove in a variety of ways was a delight to see. I have to say that this is not a book for beginners and anyone sitting down to make one of the patterns in this book should bring patience and have time on their hands to work because some of these use small needles, fine yarns and are very intricate so focus and counting will be required. Lovely yarns were used and the photography was a delight. I would love to own this book and add it to my knitting library.

How many times have you looked at a knitting pattern book to find maybe one or two patterns that you might knit in the whole book? While this book has a hefty price tag for a pattern book (suggested $45), I found that it contained a variety of different styles (from Aran to classic to modern), and a variety of different types (socks, hats, shawls, all sorts of sweaters) of patterns. Most patterns require some experience in knitting; a beginner might find it intimidating. I was particularly impressed by the tank and tee patterns that had just a small detail to make them unique. Instructions are clear and include diagrams for patterns. I also liked the detailed sizing measurement diagram that came with each pattern--allowing for one to make adjustments to certain parts of pattern, if needed. I would not hesitate to purchase this book, as it has something for everyone's taste!

Pretty exciting collection of gorgeous patterns for scarves, wraps, socks, and just about every type of sweater you can think to knit! The patterns are by dozens of designers, so you get a nice, wide variety of styles.

This is an amazing resource, and will be a valuable addition to our public library, and to home libraries for knitters. Great gift idea, because it is beautifully done as well as being incredibly useful.

An inspiring collection of 100 of Interweave Knits' best patterns. These are taken from the magazine, as well as Knitscene, special holiday issues, and a few books, and as expected from Interweave patterns they're gorgeously photographed and the instructions are detailed yet succinct.

The majority of patterns (I think about half) are for sweaters, cardigans, tanks, and tees, with the accessories including shawls, scarves, hats, and a few socks. I was disappointed that there were no mitten or glove patterns, nor any patterns for home accessories (like blankets, pillows, etc) or bags. There is also only one sweater specifically sized for men, and only one pattern for kids (a sock), so if you're looking for a "family" knits book this might not be it.

There's a wide range of skill levels and techniques used in the patterns, mainly cables and lace, but there's some Fair Isle and brioche patterns as well. I wouldn't necessarily say this is a "beginner" book--there were only a couple patterns I would have considered "advanced beginner"--as most patterns involved not only interesting stitches, but also unique construction elements. That isn't to say I wouldn't recommend it to a newer knitter though! There are enough patterns in here that are a good compromise between easy and challenging that can help newer knitters build skills.

As I was adding some of these patterns to my Ravelry queue, I noticed that most of them are from more recent issues of Interweave publications, from about 2013 up through 2017. There are, of course, older patterns, but of the about 10 I found queue-worthy, 9 of them were in that year range. If you subscribe to Interweave magazine, and keep your back issues, then you might find a lot of redundant patterns here.

I am not much of a popular knitter--I don't knit fad patterns--so I honestly didn't find this book worthwhile of buying. However, it's definitely one I would check out from the library for inspiration and to follow the few patterns I did add to my queue.

If do enjoy knitting popular patterns, then I would definitely recommend purchasing it and expanding your wardrobe with these amazing patterns!
