This is our next Bible study. I have the box of books in my library. Six weeks going through Romans 8. The daily homework offers teaching and story, with a series of questions at the end that will be discussed when a group comes together the following week. It's a slow and steady walk through this one chapter and I'm super excited.

What a thorough, helpful devotional! Trillia Newbell has written a book which helps the reader walk through Romans with just the right amount of framework. Her questions are thought-provoking and based on Scripture. Her framework is helpful. There is real weight here, real fuel for growth. This is not a light and fluffy devotional, but one that is about God and his Word. I highly recommend this one for anyone looking for a devotional book for him or herself or for a Bible study group.

This is book is an excellent course resource to help support studying the Bible as a source of wisdom. It is broken down into chunks that students can work through independently.

I enjoy a good Bible study like the next person. Especially ones that are set up in in a devotional style in which you take a week to dive deep into a book or topic. If God Is For Us focuses mainly on Romans 8, but for the first week there are assignments to read chapters 1-7 to fully understand what chapter 8 is about. I love that this study doesn't just jump headfirst without giving background information. I believe knowing what previous chapters say is crucial to any study or reading of the word.

Once you get done with week 1, weeks 2-6 focus on chapter 8 in sections. I believe taking a chapter and breaking down by paragraph or verses helps you to be able to dissect and better understand what it is saying. Each week is setup with core Bible study questions and then breaks into five days of reading, exploring and reflecting. I believe this system of Bible study is useful for those who are new to studying the Word and those who have been for years.

The study itself is actually really enjoyable, fun and resourceful to understandings Romans 8. I believe that Trillia did a fantastic job in crafting a Bible study that allows you to connect with scripture, reflect on your life in relation to scripture and how to apply it to your life.

This is great for a personal study and even better for a group study. Definitely a great one to have and not so long to do.

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1.

We come to Romans 8 knowing there's a battle going on inside us. Like Paul, we have that ragged old sin clinging onto us to the point that we often do wrong even when we want to do right Romans 7:21-24. With Paul, we plead in utter frustration, Who will deliver me from this body of death? And wonderfully, we have the answer: Jesus Christ our Lord!

Romans is a pivotal book of the bible. It has the struggles along with the answers. Newbell has given bible students a resource to go thru the book of Romans with a group or has a individual study. A study that will take commitment to be in the word and to think carefully of the questions that she has laid out before you. The questions are not meant to stump you or discourage you but the opposite, it is meant for you to become hungrier for the word of God that you may discover its truth for yourself. The truth to discover is not so much how to live, that is a byproduct of bible study but to know the God of the universe to worship him and to follow him.

You will need your bible, a notebook and a desire for the word. Newbell teaches without fluff but with clarity. She makes moments of her own life teachable that will encourage belief and faith. Highly recommend.

A Special thank you to Moody Publishers and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Although I have looked through this book, I will soon be participating in this six week study with a group, which will give me a different view of the study. My review at this point will be about the book itself. As I go through the study day by day, I might come back to add to this review.
After looking through this book, I am excited about this study.

This is not a “simple”, “all about me” devotional Bible study. It’s focused on what the Bible actually says. I like the format of this study. It is going to be challenging. It’s going to be detailed. It’s going to require spending time in The Word and look at the context of the verses and consider what the passage is saying. This author is a gifted Bible study leader and communicator and I’m looking forward to reading her comments. I am glad to get this copy and preview of good things to come.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

"If God Is For Us" is a Bible study on Romans 1-8, with a focus on Romans 8. It is a six week study with five lessons per week. For each day, they provided the verses for that day and then talked about them. The day ends with questions that reflect on how these verses impact our lives and can change how we live.

"If God Is For Us" is a Bible study on Romans 1-8, with a focus on Romans 8. It is a six week study with five lessons per week. The first week involved reading Romans 1-7 and answering reading comprehension questions about the material to prepare you for the context and content of Romans 8. The rest of the weeks looked at Romans 8.

Each week started with a chunk of verses to read for that week and several reading comprehension questions to help you process what was being taught. This did not count as a day, so you may wish to treat each week of lessons as taking six days. For each day, the author provided the verses for that day and then talked about them. She helped clarify points from the verses and explained how these truths can effect our lives. Each day ended with questions that reflect on how these verses impact our lives and can change how we live. Overall, I'd highly recommend this Bible study for personal study. It can also be used for group study, but the group leader would have to determine what questions would work best in your group.
