This was another cute Georgia Beers read. Katie Cooper was the perfect person to help Addison get out of her own way. Addison's character development was great. Georgia did a nice job handling Katie’s father’s illness. It was portrayed in a real but gentle way. Overall this was a cute read and I highly recommend. Thanks Georgia for another great read!!

Another great romance book by Georgia Beers! 5/5

Addison Fairchild doesn't do relationships or love or hobbies or anything that is not related to her job, that is until she gets ill and a new assistant is assigned to help her. Katie Cooper is trying her best to help her parents and help around both, physically and financially. When Katie gets a chance to work as an assistant in the Fairchild company, she jumps at the opportunity. Classic romance of a sexy ice queen who can only melt by the right woman.

This was a sweet, feel-good romance. A really enjoyable read. The chemistry between the characters was there from the start. Both were wrong and sexy characters that were well developed and I was invested from the beginning. The writing was great and engaging. I will definitely be reading this book again.

I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review via NetGalley.

Georgia Beers has become my go to for Lesbian romance. She weaves a great story with a bit of steam, action, romance, and great characters.

I received an ARC copy of the book from the Publisher via Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

This is an Ice Queen story and a work place romance. I enjoyed the story line and the character development was excellent. The story line flowed well and the characters themselves were likeable.

Addison works within the family business her mother started over two decades ago. She is looking (hoping) to take over the company when her mother retires. She is a workaholic and has some health problems. Katie is a part time nanny and looking for another job and gets a job as Addison’s assistant. Addison is opposed to having an assistant and doesn’t make it easy to begin with for Katie but as the story progresses she gets used to having an assistant.

I enjoyed reading this book and now I am not sure if this is my favourite book by this author or if Blend is still my favourite. I am tied on both at the moment. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

3.25 Stars. I’m a Beers fan. I think she is very talented. I thought this was a sweet story but I did feel a bit let down at the end. I just didn’t care for all of Beers story choices and was hoping for something more. It’s still a good read, just not one of my favorites by Beers.

This is a romance with an ice queen character. Addison definitely fits that mold and I love to read good ice queen characters. Due to Addison’s health, she is forced to take on an assistant named Katie. Katie has a lot going on in her life and needs this job to help her family. The more time they spend together the more an attraction builds, the problem is the job has a strict no fraternizing policy. Is there a chance at a relationship or are the doomed from the start?

I enjoyed most of the main storyline. I liked these two characters as a potential couple and I enjoyed watching Addison’s walls come down. The problem I have is with the story being very predictable. I literally kept saying to myself what I thought would happen and it did. I wanted something more. I want to be wowed by the books I read. I wanted Addison to fight for what she deserved. Where was the ice queen when I really needed her? And not only did the book become very predictable, it felt really short. All these things were happening at the end of the book and it felt like we ran out of time.

The premise and the characters in this book were well done. It was classic Beers to me. I felt like this could have been a story I loved, but it really petered out at the end for me. It is still a good read that I think people will enjoy; I just wanted it to be great.

Lately Georgia Beers books have either been a hit or a miss, this falls on the “hit” category.

Drama based this book lacked a bit, but it also lacked romance in a way that was believable and real, the characters both did normal and mundane things that have them a realness that I was not expecting.

Addison is a power suit woman who wants to climb the corporate ladder, Katie needs a job because she is struggling with medical bills. There is no grand gesture, just people working day to day and falling for each other, hardships and all.

I have noticed that this author’s books are no longer ending in the classic “love confession” moment, but more on a “let’s build this together and work to stay together”. For a hardcore romance fan as myself, who is used to the typical formula of “first meeting, first kiss, happy times, drama, break up, reconcile through emotionally filled drama scene that leads to a love confession” this book is fresh, it still has a few of those elements, but remains real, yet stays true to the genre.

Katie Cooper has moved back home to help her mother deal with Katie's father who has early (and fast) onset Alzheimer's. She really needs some more money to help with the mounting medical bills. When her friend tells her about an admin assistant job, she jumps at the chance.
Addison Fairchild doesn't actually want an assistant but her drive to work has created a health crisis that has made her family decide that she HAS to have some help. Even so, it doesn't mean she has to act gracefully. Until Katie calls her out on her manners. The two eventually find a tentative working relationship. And love.
I wish I had remembered that I don't like boss/employee romances before requesting this book from NetGalley. I'm pretty sure people that don't mind that trope will like this book more than I did.

Three stars

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, the description was good enough but the story was never boring nor repetitive, Did I find some situation that i did not fully liked or understood ? sure, but that did not ruin anything. I still found myself enjoying and looking forward to reading the rest. (please be aware that I might Spoil some things going forward with this comment) At one point I wanted more emotions from katie. Who by the way disappointed me. She did not use her nanny skills to handle Addison " completely not in a sexual way" it's just that she was handling and managing kids so I thought in away she was going to be more in control of the situation instead she gave others the wheal to drive, waited for instruction. Overall, it's well written but I dont know I wanted more drama if I make sense .

Highly recommended.

Not my favorite Beers but also not the worst.

Such a joy to read a solid lesfic romance after a string of DNFed KU offerings.

Addison Fairchild, head of Fairchild Rentals, was very dedicated to the company her CEO mother established twenty five years ago. Addison was so hardworking that she did it all: answered the phones herself, scheduled appointments on her calendar, checked never ending emails, and even had to deal with and fire employees who was involved in a forbidden office romance because of all the recent headlines about sexual harassment.

Addison did not have or need a personal assistant, an administrative assistant, or even a personal secretary to help her. She was so stubborn with her need to single-handedly complete every single aspect of her very demanding job that she eventually collapsed and ended up in the ER with an ulcer and high blood pressure. As a result of this, Meredith Fairchild hired a personal assistant for her daughter.

Katie had a full time job as an account executive at a tech company. But she needed to work part time to help her mother take care of her dad who was suffering from dementia. Therefore, Katie left her full time job to take a morning nanny position for twin boys. But she still needed more money to help her mom pay the bills. When her friend Samantha informed her about the available temporary personal assistant position, Katie welcomed this opportunity. Now she had two part time jobs and also helped her mom with her dad!

Needless to say, Addison did not happily welcome Katie to her new position and tried to derail her every chance she got. But her mother interceded and demanded Addison actually use Katie as her assistant and not an errand girl. Eventually, the women worked well together- professionally and personally.

There was an interesting mix of characters in this story, but I felt the heart of this story belonged to Katie’s family…simply because it felt real. The characters dealt with realistic problems and stressful conditions while trying to care for a loved one with dementia. The characters also displayed raw heart wrenching emotions as they witnessed a once vibrant person mentally deteriorate before their eyes…knowing there was nothing they could do to stop it. This is life, and this made the story an engaging read.

I could never make up my mind if Too Close to Touch or Turning the Page was my favorite Georgia Beers book, but I think this one won (so far, at least)..

For me, the name Georgia Beers on the cover means that I will lose myself in a story for a couple of days with characters that I would very much enjoy to spend time with in real life. This one is no exception. This time around, we get to know Addison Fairchild, a workaholic control freak and her charming assistant Katie Cooper in a sweet office romance. The characters felt real, the story was great, and the pacing was just right, and as usual, I kept getting anxious as I approached the end of the book because I didn’t want it to end :)

I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a sweet romance story.

Addison is a workaholic but her lifestyle is taking a toll on her health. When her mother insists she take on an assistant she is put out but not really given a choice, not if she hopes to take over from her mother when she retires. Katie Cooper is more than Addison bargained for although behind her sunny disposition, her life is more complicated than it seems.

What makes this good is that the writing flows well, the story is engaging and the characters draw you in. While I was reading it I was invested and never in any doubt that I wanted to finish it. What bothered me once I was finished is that there were no surprises. Everything happened exactly as I had anticipated. There's a definite comfort in a read that plays out exactly as you'd expect but there's a part of me that wants the good writing to be accompanied by something unexpected.

Romances where opposites attract are common but few are this good. What makes it even better was the delightful journey Katie takes you on in her quest to melt the ice queen that Addison has become. There are some amazing themes in here about life and career choices, value of family and friendships, the cost of selfish decisions, and the rewards of letting go. I was so bummed when the story was over because I felt that, why quit when you have a great thing going? A solid foundation of superb character development, wonderfully blended themes, and some hot chemistry made for one of the best reads this year.

Georgia Beers is a talented writer. Calendar Girls is a book around a type A personality, Addison, and Katie, a devoted daughter to her family. While this is a good book, it's not my favorite. There isn't a lot of character development between two and Addison is a hard character to like, it's also hard to understand why her mother makes the decision in the end regarding Addison. Great light read.

Georgia Beers is one of my favorite authors and I was certainly not disappointed with Calendar Girl even though it wouldn't be in my top 5 Beers books.
I really loved Katie-she was such a sweetheart even though she had to deal with her father's serious health problem and she had to sacrifice her career in order to help her parents. It was so refreshing reading about someone so caring and so selfless for once. Most characters are successful type-A personalities who only care about their careers and have no personal or social lives because they are obsessed with their status. This is Addison more or less. Even though she is not a bad person I certainly wasn't 100% invested in this pairing especially towards the end. This is the reason I give my 4 stars instead of 5 ( it would have been 3,5 if Georgia Beers wasn't one of my favorites!).

I think that Addison's actions were forgiven so easily and I certainly wasn't convinced that a person like that, suddenly had an epiphany and realized how wrong she was in general, just minutes after she treated her love interest like trash for the 1000th time. I would like to see her really try to redeem herself and the abrupt ending didn't help. It was actually a pity since more than the 3/4 of the book is really interesting.
In any case it's still a nice read and Georgia's writing is still superb.

This was a typical romance don't get me wrong it was a good read. It starts with Addison Fairchild a woman who is groom since childhood to run a division at Fairchild Enterprises and she takes it so seriously that she run herself to the brink of illness. This is when Katie Cooper enter the picture as her assistant who seemingly happy person but underneath she struggling with her father decline health and paying the bills as they work together they realize opposites can attract will they give in or let it pass them by you'll have to read it to see for yourself.

I’m a sucker for books with a Type A personality characters because I’m usually dying of curiosity to see how the author will develop them through the book. Some of them are not exactly skilled in writing them so I usually end up seeing those characters as pure and evil whiny bitches, but some, like Georgia Beers, have the skills to make them complex enough for them to be interesting and likable. Addison is working herself to illness, quite literally. After collapsing while with a friend and getting rushed to the hospital, everyone close to her expect her to slow down. Getting her a personal assistant is a must, but will Addison see it like that?
Katie Cooper has so many problems in her life and is in need of money as much as in need of time to help her mother taking care of her ill father. When she’s hired by CEO of Fairchild Enterprise to help her daughter Addison, the last she expects is to fall in love with the clueless, cold and all-business no-play, gorgeous Addison Fairchild.
Katie is exactly what Addison needs, cheerful when she’s angry and on the edge, soothing when she’s hurting... but is she brave enough to admit that and have her happiness put in front of her work?
Georgia Beers is one of my favorite authors and I love her writing style; along with Melissa Brayden, she writes the most effortless, fluid dialogues which I’m a great aficionado of. I have to say, the ending of the book left me a bit baffled as I had expected “more” somehow, it seemed sort of unfinished... But apart from that, this is a great book, worth the reading.
