An honest review thanks to NetGalley. The two words that describe this book is cute and sweet. The over exaggerated personalities and situations make you think cute. This is not usually my style but if you are looking for a sweet adorable read then this is it for you.

This is a odd kind of romance - Emily is a birder who publishes a magazine called Tweet and Sydney is a pole dancer. For the mix of professions alone, this gets points. Overall, this one didn't wow me as the characters were quirky but hard to relate to or engage with.

Unfortunately I didn't connect well with the novel or the characters. The storyline just didn't work for me. This however won't stop me reading any of her future novels by this author.

Lovebirds by Lisa Moreau is a delightfully fun, syrupy sweet opposites attract romance.

Emily Wellington plays it safe. The only risk she has ever taken was to leave her well-paying marketing career to start a birding magazine call The Tweet. She promised her wealthy Beverly Hills parents and equally wealthy girlfriend that she would give the publication two years and if it was not profitable she would give up on her dream and go back to her old job. Tick tock, two years is up and her business is well into the red. She has also just accepted her long-term girlfriend’s marriage proposal. Pressure is coming from all sides to give up her birding passion, return to her corporate business career and settle in the Beverly Hill’s lifestyle her parents and girlfriend demand.

The opposite of Emily is Sydney Cooper. Sydney is broke, perpetually unemployed and cannot seem to catch a break. A teenage runaway, Sydney has brought herself up on the streets and used pole dancing as a way to make ends meet. Her dream is to teach at a Beverly Hills dance studio all she needs is the owner to finally give her the audition so she can show off her skills.

Emily and Sydney develop an unlikely friendship as Emily searches for a rare bird and Sydney auditions for the posh dance studio. These two are thrust into hilariously awkward scenarios that leave them bickering, laughing and revealing a whole lot of attraction.

Lovebirds is an endearing story that had me captured to the very last page. I loved the spark between the two mains and the dialogue between them was witty and fun. This is a good romance with a little something extra to set it apart. 3.5 stars

This is my first book by Lisa Moreau but it definitely won't be my last! Very sweet story with a nice helping of humor. My wife is a huge birding fan so she was excited to read this book as well. I always enjoy opposites-attract stories and the touch of rich girl/poor girl works here as well. What a charming way to spend a few hours.

Sweet romance. I now want to read anything Lisa Moreau has ever written. I also wanted to learn more about love birds such a sweet story. This is a feel good romance from beginning to end loved it all.

‘Love Birds’ is a beautiful love story set in the adorable setting of Ojai, California. Emily owns a magazine for bird enthusiasts and needs that one big story to save her publication. She has let other people run her life for far too long and takes the chance to do something for herself. Pole-dancer Sydney has her hopes set on a dream job but has to make some changes if she is going to get there. These two women from totally different words find themselves thrown together and as they find a way to coexist, something neither expected changes their lives forever. Lisa Moreau writes the most appealing characters, with a gentleness and understanding that I’ve yet to find in another author. Her stories are so romantic but when things get hot she knows just what buttons to press. I loved seeing how the relationship between Emily and Sydney developed. It was sweet and sexy but also very empowering. I really enjoyed this story, as I have everything I’ve read by this author. I can highly recommended ‘Love Birds’

Lovebirds is a cute story. There’s nothing groundbreaking or new to discover but the town is delightful and the characters likeable.

This is a sweet story about how opposites attract even though at times that's not such a good plan to pursue. At one and we have Emily who is the owner of A bird publication that she is trying desperately to save. Both her financially well off family and fiancé are hoping that she gives up this losing battle to save her magazine and goes back to a corporate job. Emily has a very structured life and an even more structured fiancé who does not really show affection and has convinced Emily that they are a good pair. Opposite of Emily is Sydney who is a pole dancer and barely has enough money to buy herself a cuppa coffee.
Emily gets word that a rare breed of lovebirds might be living in a small town , Ojai, a few hours away so she decides to go and try to find these birds as a last ditch effort to save her magazine. She rents a cabin from a friend and off she goes only to find that there is someone in the cabin who apparently has broken into the cabin. Then she finds out that the woman who was there is Sydney who wants to stay in that area because she has the possibility of a job interview for a dream job she's been looking for. Sydney and Emily are like oil and water and after bickering for a few days they decide to call a truce and stay in the cabin together pursuing their individual goals. Little by little they used to begin to it knowledge that there is something going on between them despite the fact that Emily is engaged she still lets her self be open to flirting with Sydney.

What will happen when Emily's fiancé finds out that she's sharing the cabin with Sydney who she deems an arch enemy ? You will Emily be able to find the rare bird she's looking for and save her magazine? Will Sydney be able to audition for her job of a lifetime and become financially stable? Well all of these three dynamics are going on there are so many twists and turns in the story that it's hard to envision how it's all going to end however continuing to read the story through all the ups and downs to get to the end is a terrific adventure and one that should not be missed.

Emily Wellington owns ‘The Tweet’ a magazine that is all about birds. It is close to being shut down but when Emily get a lead on the Madagascar Lovebird she know it’s just what she needs to keep the magazine up and running. Sydney Cooper loves pole dancing, yes pole dancing. She feels learning the art has given her confidence and strength and she dreams of getting a chance at showing others just what PD can do for them to. She’s unemployed, having a hard time making ends meet. Then by accident Emily and Sydney end up sharing a cabin in Ojai. Simply a very nice, sweet love story. Very enjoyable read. ARC via NetGalley

Birder (Emily Wellington) and pole dancer (Sydney Cooper) cannot be more different from each other. Sydney is full of sharp edges travelling life with arms akimbo and Emily is the epitome of ‘conservative’ (as much as a person with an alternative lifestyle can be).

Author Lisa Moreau takes these two mismatched girls and creates a light, fluffy, joyful story around them. Unlikely pairings ending in HEA are just so heart-warming.

Their interactions are sweet, there is very little angst and crisis, so it is all pleasant and enjoyable. We also loved the easy dialogue between the two girls and the way each went out to help the other realise their goals. Another big plus is Sydney’s character development by the author.

A little more fleshing out of Emily’s relationships with her parents and girlfriend would have been nice.

Romantic impossibilities and HEA are two of our favourite tropes and we thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Lovebirds is a light and fluffy romance story that pretty much follows the synopsis as is. In all honesty, I didn't love the book, but I definitely didn't hate it either. It's a quick read though, and there's no serious drama or angst, so most readers will likely enjoy this one. Fair warning from the outset - this book does have a bit of infidelity, but it's resolved in the book. I personally hate infidelity, but still would not skip this one because of it. Some of you may feel otherwise though

Even though there's really nothing wrong with this one, I still felt like it was somehow lacking. I think that my main issue with the book is that I personally had a bit of trouble with the connection between Emily and Sydney, the two MCs, and I had trouble connecting to their characters at all. These two are completely different people who are outright antagonistic to each other from the very start, then suddenly there's a few sentences of kind words and BOOL - they're both googly eyed for each other. It just seems like an unlikely and abrupt jump when they are complete opposites with nothing in common. It just didn't feel believable.

In all honesty, I hated Sydney's character at the beginning, and had trouble warming up to her, but I loved that Moreau had her grow as a character and showed us more of Sydney's personality as the book continued. The story was sweet, there was very little conflict, and I think that many of you will really enjoy this one, but I just didn't connect with it or care much about the characters like I had hoped to.

Recently engaged Emily will do anything to keep her bird magazine afloat if it means proving to herself and her family she can do what she loves. She travels to a small town to write a story about an exclusive story about Madagascar lovebirds that will save her magazine and her reputation. As fates will have it she has to share a place with Sydney, a pole-dancer from LA who is auditioning for her dream job. The two women end up being unexpected allies, friends, and something much much more.

I really enjoyed this book, it has definitely been my favourite by this author. I was not expecting to enjoy a book about birds so much. So if you're not a bird lover have no fear, you will be more than able to enjoy how cute this book is regardless. I was also a little concerned about the fact that Emily was engaged and this would be a cheating romance, but it was very palpable and believable. Essentially, throw away all your assumptions and just enjoy this lovely book for what it is. You wont be sorry.

The two leading ladies had really unique careers, it was a breath of fresh air to read about.

Honestly this book was just pure sweetness. The interactions between Sydney and Emily are just pure cuteness and adorableness. You cant help but have a huge smile on your face while you read this book.

Emily and Sydney are from opposite sides of the track. Lovebirds, pole dancing, and a cabin in the woods cause them to be thrown together. Their relationship develops slowly as they get to know one another better. Over time they realize they need each other. I really enjoyed this story. I loved learning a bit about birds and pole dancing basics. Sydney and Emily are great mains that are perfect for one another. I highly recommend this one! Thanks Lisa Moreau for another great read!

I'm a big fan of this authors other books, not so much of this one. There was something very young about the dialogue between the two main characters. They talked and acted like they were 20 as opposed to 30. I don't want to give anything away, it just felt like both of them were incredibly naive.

The biggest strength of Lisa Moreau is her side characters, and how much life she usually has in them. This was the first book where they were all lacking. Emily's Mom, Owen, and Gretchen all felt like cliche one sided characters compared to those she created in 'Picture Perfect'. Fran was close, and she barely made an appearance.

Last thing is that they book didn't end on a lot of issues I would have loved to see close up. What about Emily's Mom and Sydney? How is that going? What about Owen and his magazine? How can Sydney afford to be a partner??? So many questions...

I'm giving it 3 stars because the author can still write a decent enough book, it's just not her best outing.

Didn’t really enjoy this. The main characters are both unlikeable, Emily’s a doormat, Sydney’s obnoxious and manipulative, and them together, not great. Especially because Emily was already in a relationship.

I’m also not into birds, so the backstory didn’t grab me either. The supporting characters are more caricature than characters and the whole magazine rival thing was boring. By the end I didn’t care if they got together. Two stars.

3.25 Stars. This was a cute read. It’s a pretty straightforward and sweet storyline. Not a book that I loved, but it was a nice morning read. If you liked her last book Picture Perfect, chances are you will enjoy this one.

The main story revolves around an engaged woman Emily, and her fight to save her bird magazine. She forms an unlikely friendship with professional pole dancer named Sydney. These two women could not be more different, but while searching for love bids they might just find some love of their own.

As I mentioned this is a pretty straightforward romance with some conflict to drive the story. Technically the story does include infidelity. Emily is engaged, but it so lightly touches on cheating that I don’t think it would bother many people. I can be hit of miss on stories with infidelity but this was such a little blip on the radar I didn’t care.

I think my biggest issue personally was I didn’t care for the main characters all that much. They are not bad characters or unlikeable, I just didn’t connect with them. I thought the story was sweet; I just didn’t care like I wanted. That’s the main reason I can’t rate this higher.

It’s a perfectly nice story that I think most people will like. It didn’t really scream my personal tastes, but it was a pleasant read.

This book, in all its silliness, is cute and the silly parts are adorable and make for a very entertaining reading at the end.

Since their first meet to the unespected chance that makes them to share a cabin in Ojai, California, all seems to push them together beyond their reluctance.

There are some dramatic moments that are expected but not tarnish the general mood of sweetness and cuteness.

For me this book has been a bit of fresh air and I recommend it for thos who look for an uncomplicated and sweet romantic read.
