A very simple idea but we enjoyed reading this together in our homeschool and being able to apply it to our thoughts about the water cycle in science.

This book is so beautiful I could cry! Simply amazing, I really don't know what else to say. I love it. My kids love it.

Although I could see the potential in this text, I was not able to sustain my attention and finish the narrative.

The title is a bit misleading. I think readers, much life myself, will expect something of scientific or educational value. The story is mildly entertaining but nothing really stands out.

I cant begin to express how sad I am that this book is so bad. I really wanted tthis book to be either very cute about going down the drain pipe and riding a leaf or about being born in a cloud and coming down from tthe sky and ect. this book was excuse me for this this but just stupid.

A simple book with simple illustrations on different places a raindrop can land in its one day life journey.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC

What cute story about a raindrop and his fall to earth. Children's books, such as this one--that have a cute story, touching little characters, and a poignant message--are my favorite. As a kid, I loved weather so much and I am sure that I would have really enjoyed this one. I like that it makes you think about the message of the book, and what it means to have and enjoy your life. The message here isn't lost on adults, as we often need reminders to see the world from the eye of a child and not take for granted the smaller, more simple parts of life. This is really pulled home with this book near the end, where the rain drop says that he has had a day and we have had a life. No matter how much time you have, its crucial that you enjoy it and make the most of what you are given.

I expected something different (and better) from this book. The title promises "A DAY in the Life of a Raindrop". Apart from a brief mention at the end that the raindrop has "had a day", whereas the reader lives a whole life, the book is just an incoherent list of places a raindrop could possibly land, without any kind of story to it. My classmates and I wrote better stories at age 8 when we were told to describe the journey of a raindrop. The author appears to have made a list of words that rhyme and has tried (and failed) to write some kind of meaningful text around it. The rhythm also needs a lot of work as it doesn't flow well at all. The pictures are ok, albeit basic and without any real depth.

This book was okay, but I guess I was expecting something different so maybe that's my fault for not reading the description better. I was expecting this book to have a little more science relation in regards to the water cycle and stuff? It was still a good book, although a few pages had weird wording in my opinion, but it was slightly different than I expected. I really liked the little rain drop coming out of the cloud more and more with each page though.

1 star.

I was expecting something more. This wasn't interesting or cute or something that I think many children will be interested in. The illustrations were alright though. Nice use of colours. But that's about all.

A adventurous journey of a little raindrop. A simple yet meaningful raindrop. A very sweet story to read to kids for bedtime.

Did not enjoy this book, illustrations leave much to be desired. While the rhyming is whimsical in parts - many spots it seems forced to find a rhyming word.

I was excited by the title and the idea of what could be and then after reading I felt like there was something missing.

Good reference to God, life and gratitude but again it felt odd and forced.

The illustrations were uncomplicated, yet meaningful. A little raindrop with rain boots on, ironically. The life of a raindrop in its simplest form - from above, earthward.
It did a nice job with the fluidity of the descriptions but kind of lost its footing with the rhyming, along with the direction of the "plot."

A cute book rhyming book showing a raindrop's contemplation as it goes through the day. Unfortunately some of the rhymes took incorrect forms of words in an attempt to make the rhyme fit. Illustrations were okay but not spectacular. I received an electronic copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley for this copy.
It's the story about the life of a raindrop, interesting idea. I did not like the illustrations at all.

This book has a cute little idea. It follows a raindrops thoughts as he come to earth. I thought it was going to be more specific to the actual process of a raindrop being formed but it was more of the raindrop wondering what would happen when it got to earth. The watercolor parts of the illustrations were beautiful. However, the raindrop looked odd to me because he was not watercolor and didn’t match. I also felt that the words tried a little too hard to rhyme and it felt forced in some spots.

Here’s one that doesn’t actually take the title literally. Instead of some scientific info, it’s a highly stylized cartoon that. . . well, if it teaches anything, it’s strictly by accident.
The raindrop in question is strangely drawn: the body is as expected, with a slightly creepy face, legs, and arms, one of which is holding an umbrella. . . why? Is a pile of wet afraid of getting wet?
If this is for kids, why is the word “oblivious” in there? There are plenty of adults who wouldn’t know that one.
At least the rhymes are well done. Considering his bio says the author has composed hundreds of poems, that shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. But as a whole this seemed more like a surreal parody for easily amused teens than anything for kids.

The book A Day in the Life of a Raindrop follows a raindrop from the sky to the earth. However, it isn't as cute as I had thought it would be. There are references to God, although this is not a religious book. It's simplistic, but it's hard to recommend for younger kids as it doesn't seem that there is much to keep their attention. If the book had tracked the raindrop and discussed more of the benefits of rain, it would have been more interesting.

This book was so hard to finish, it was just so bad. The first page starts pretty well, seeing a drop of water fall slowly with an umbrella, with this text: "If I were a raindrop, where would I fall? Would it be on a daffodil, a cat or a wall?".

I was expecting to learn about the cycle of water, or how useful water is for people on Earth. But instead, it was a very scattered narration of a raindrop falling here and there, as explained: "From Heaven to Earth just as God planned. Nothing to do with the desires of man", The book seems to be about enjoying this 'gift', and that was pretty much it.

The book also portrays "the whole human race" as a bunch of young white persons only, and very weird depiction of a kid waiting for a drop to jump down his mouth, with this text: "Taste my sweetness, swallow my life and know that my trip was a pure delight". In the end, it's a very creepy and weird book to read.

Cute pictures but wasn't expecting religious references. I did like the illustrations and everything else but prefer books without mention of god
