I got this book from netgalley. It's a really good book, I liked it. It had cute graphics. I liked what the book had to say. One thing that I liked was this:
Would I sputter and spatter
all over the place
or would I just slightly dampen
the whole human race.
I give this book 5 stars.

As the raindrop falls to earth it wonders where it might end up. The illustrations are light and bright. However, some of the locations and rhymes seem forced or even odd. I guess I was hoping for a poetic verse that mirrored scientific concepts. Might make a sweet bedtime story, but not suited for a public school elementary library.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book started out nice enough. Nice rhymes, pretty pictures, a lesson on the importance of rain. But toward the end, it just got a little strange. I was not a fan.

Thank you, NetGalley, for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute little book about the "life" of a raindrop. I read it to my daughter last night before bed. The illustrations were cute. I felt like the rhyming was a little forced, but that is probably just me as an adult, and to a child it might not.

I liked that there were a lot of questions in the book to make a child think.

3.25 out of 5 stars.

Likeable and unique, the images and text work together in an entertaining and clever way. A wonderful book for young readers.

I am generally I lover of children's picture books of all types, but this book left me thinking "What did I just read?" There are many things that make me wonder that, but the main head-turning aspects are: why is "the whole human race" only white, why is the face on the raindrop creepy looking (I understand he is smiling, but it's just creepy), then there are two times during the raindrop's fall that evokes inappropriate images involving children (in my head, not the book). Several of the passages do not rhyme, and that disrupts the flow of the story, and I will not discuss the religious undertone found late in the book. Unfortunately this is one book that will not be re-read or recommended.

I feel horrible leaving this type of review, but honestly, there are very few positive aspects to this children's book.

There is something wrong with this Kindle file. It wouldn't open on my Paperwhite Kindle and when I tried several times it would not load.

Sorry, I was interested in reviewing it.

thank you

I really liked it until about halfway through when it seemed to lose it's way a bit. The illustrations weren't my style.
All in all it's a cute little poem that I'm sure many will enjoy, it's just not quite for me.

This is an adorable little poem about a rain drop's trip to Earth. The colour illustrations are whimsical and beautiful. The story entertaining and cheerful. This would make a lovely addition for any child's library.

Sweet story. Sad that the book is paperback - hardcover children’s books sell well in our bookstore. I think the illustrations would have been even better with diversity!

I was expecting to learn about rain in this book - it was not about rain as much as one individual raindrop which was disappointing. The rhyming seemed forced and to be honest, the word choice seemed odd in places and didn't make much sense. All in all - not my favorite, probably wouldn't purchase the physical copy.

Th illustrations are beautiful but the book was not what I expected. It was more like a poem than a story. I was looking for a cute character of a raindrop ready to share his adventure through the water cycle. The writing was well done, but didn’t fit the title

I thought this was a cute illustrated book. The illustrations themselves have that "rough" look about them, which I liked. And I think the face of the raindrop is cute.

However, I think some of the words might be too advanced for most kids. I also liked how the passages rhymed at first, but I felt as though this stopped halfway through. "wonder" and "ponder" don't rhyme. Although I acknowledge rhyming doesn't need to be exact, I feel the words should be closer in sound, especially for a children's book.

If purchased this is a book I'd read to a child.

Nice story about all the different things a raindrop can do or places it can go, with an emphasis on the importance of water to the Earth, but I wasn't a fan of the illustrations or the religious message nonchalantly slipped into the story.
