I received this ARC from NetGalley and it was as fun and as cute as I thought it would be (and I love anytime sports are involved). Would recommend to a friend!

This was a really cute story! It moved a bit too fast for me (I honestly felt like I barely knew Tyler, so it was hard to connect with his troubles too much), but overall this was a fun and easy read. I like books like this when I'm stressed because I know they won't have too much drama and that it will finish with a happy ending! I should also mention that I didn't realize this was part of a series, so I read this without reading any of the other books. About half way through reading, I realized (based on all the inside jokes and mentions of other couples) that I was definitely reading this in the wrong order (*face palm*). But I still enjoyed it!

This was a syrupy sweet quick read, haven't read any of the other books in this series but luckily it didn't matter as most of the references to previous novels weren't relevant to this story. This was an easy book to get through, the characters were pretty lame and the plot as a whole was a bit ridiculous but what can ya do?

Just Pretending by Leah and Kate Rooper is a fun YA sports romance that readers will enjoy. It is book three in the series, but can be read as a standalone.

This is the book I was waiting for in Leah and Kate Rooper‘s The Chicago Falcons series. Just Pretending is the final book in the series and Tyler’s story. I was already in love with the shy friend of the trio and I couldn’t wait to find out more about him. Y’all I wasn’t disappointed. If anything, I fell more in love with him.

At seventeen, Tyler Evans has a lot on his shoulders. While he loves hockey, he worries about helping his dad provide for his little sister. Poor doesn’t begin to cover their situation, and my heart ached for him as he struggled to help his dad make ends meet. He’s passionate, has zero self-confidence, and hopeless in love with his best friend’s little sister who is completely off-limits. However after a mixup leaves him spending an entire day with the young queen, he begins wishing for a different reality, one that would allow him to love her.

Evangeline was first introduced in Just One of the Royals as Daniel’s little sister. Now queen she doesn’t get many opportunities to see her big brother or venture outside her kingdom. Deciding to take a vacation, she finds herself in Chicago being shown all the sights by Daniel. When her mother calls and tells her that a neighboring prince will also be in Chicago and that her job as queen is to welcome him and show him around, she reluctantly agrees. Through a series of hilarious events, she mistakes Tyler for Tiberius and finds herself falling in love with the down-to-earth “prince.” Eva is a typical sixteen year old with a big responsibility, one that weighs on her shoulders and makes her long for another life.

The plot surrounds Tyler and Eva as she hosts Christmas at the castle and Daniel and his friends attend. I loved Tyler and Eva’s interactions, but at times I wanted to smack Tyler for hiding his true identity. The will he get caught added an edge of suspense to their romance. And the steaminess?! I didn’t expect it. I expected a sweet story from Tyler, and I got one. But man the paint scene had me blushing. 😉

Overall Just Pretending is my favorite of the series. Tyler and Eva were easy to root for. If you enjoy YA romance, I highly recommend you grab a copy.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher. This in no way impacted on my view.

Now, books 1 and 2 in this series were so good, that I had high hopes for this final book, and though I enjoyed it, I felt it was the weakest of the trilogy. In Just Pretending, we follow Princess Evangeline as she travels to Chicago to visit her big brother, Daniel. While there, she meets one of Daniel's team mates, Tyler, but she happens to confuse him with a prince, and though it's wrong, Tyler finds himself playing along, and pretending to be a prince, rather than coming clean about his families struggles as he provides for them. The chemistry between both was really sweet, and it seemed like each understood the other, but we always had the whole secret identity aspect hanging over them like a sword, so when it is revealed, there's obviously a lot of drama and angst.

I did enjoy both main characters, but, like I said, not as much as the previous couples. Ty was really sweet, and I loved how hard he fought for Eva to prove he deserved her, but still I didn't connect as much with him or Eva. Still, I think this was a perfect way to end this companion series, and I'm glad I discovered the books online.

I love entangled crush and I love sports romances. This was no different. It was amazing and I love hockey. The writing was great, I rushed through it because I just couldn't put it down.

Dear lord on a fluffy biscuit, give me more to this story! Haha

I loved this so much. It was so adorable.

I'm such a sucker for a good sports romance and royal romance. And this book combined my two loves *squee.

It was such a fun read. And had the best characters. They were so well developed and multi dimensional. And just flipping adorable.
I couldn't help but root for them.
Even with all the deception and whatnot going on.

If you enjoy a fun and cute YA sports romance I suggest going and grabbing a copy of this adorable book. It definitely one of my news favorites.

Definitely a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5 star read⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am going to keep this short and sweet: JUST PRETENDING is amazing. I love Evangeline and Tyler. Tyler seems to be the perfect name for a hockey player. Hockey romance to perfection. It's amazing.

Thank you EntangledTEEN and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

I didn’t read the previous books in the series but it can be read as a stand-alone. I Like stories with mistaken identity and the drama that pursues. It was quite funny and cute.

This is the perfect YA; it pitches to its target audience and invites them to engage with the characters and plot. from the very first page. It wasn't really for me, but I know my students will love it.

This novel is best fit for a young high school reader. I would suggest adults that dabble in YA to skip it and gift it to your favorite 14 year old reader. There are a few cuss words and kissing, but that’s as far as it goes. The characters are fun, it is a positive story and the book leaves you feeling happy.

Quick read. Mostly likeable characters. Cutesy romance. Light and refreshing. A little cheesy but not too terribly. It did feel a little predictable but most light romances are. I enjoyed it for the most part.

The storyline had so much potential, I loved the premise .I would enjoy the story even more if I didn't like Eva and Tyler. I didn’t like how Daniel was with Tyler. So mostly I have problem with the characters!

This was such a cute, fun read. I really enjoyed the previous books in this series, and was excited to read this one. Not only does it have hockey – which I love – but also a teenager queen – who is, by the way, awesome. Just Pretending was a great light, romantic read.

I really liked the characters, most of the time. There were times that I kind of wanted to shake them because their poor decision-making skills annoyed me, but then again, I’m always all for flawed characters, so I can’t complain about that too much. They were good enough characters, I just didn’t really get invested in them. I’m not sure why, they just weren’t all that relatable to me.

The plot was fun, though. I mean, a hockey player pretending to be a prince? That’s unique enough that you pretty much can’t go wrong. It was well-paced and kept me reading despite not being invested in the characters. The romance was cute, too. Even though there were secrets between them, you could tell that they really understood each other. It was a bit faster than I like, but it was sweet and I felt like Eva and Tyler really fit together.

Overall, it was a really sweet and romantic read, and while there were some issues, I still enjoyed it. It was light, which was exactly what I wanted at the time, and I had lots of fun with it. I’d definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a quick, romantic read.

I received a copy of JUST PRETENDING from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much!

Five stars and here’s why:

I loved it. Hella-hot guys, super savvy girls, and a rom-com romance of epic proportion! I was hooked from the first page. It’s a classic Cinderella story with a twist: in this case, the commoner guy falls in love with the royal girl. This story is told in alternating chapters so you get a good sense of where the hero and heroine are coming from, and it can be read as a stand-alone book, but honestly, you’re going to want to read books one and two in the series to get the whole story scoop on the entire gang. It’s just that good.

Highly recommend!

Sweet and funny - Entangled Teen publishers really hits it out of the park every time. Tyler and Eva were too cute, even with the lies and royal drama, they were just so real and relatable. Loved it!

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly, once I got this ARC.. I never really read the previous books. Thankfully, I got them for free on Kindle Unlimited and dove right into them. Each were entertaining to say the least. Plus, I do love my hockey romance books. After reading this though, I'm sad to see this series end. I really enjoyed getting to meet each character and falling in love with their stories.

In this book, you will meet Eva and Tyler. Eva is royalty and Tyler plays on the same hockey team as her brother Daniel. Now if you've read the previous two books, you learned that Daniel was a prince in the second book - so yeah, spoiler alert!

Now I loved the romance between these two! They were completely adorable and it made my heart pitter patter. This book also had it's fair share of secrets in it - which kind of kept me on my toes for a bit. Other than that, the drama was a tad bit ridiculous at times. Even with knowing that this is a Young Adult, I just couldn't help rolling my eyes a few times.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I was happy to see everyone from the previous books and it brought joy to my eyes seeing them all happy. Everyone was very cute throughout this series and again, I was so happy to dive into it. I will definitely look out for another series or book by this author. Hoping it will being joy to my life once again.
