I couldn't get very far into this book. It's just....so....saccharine and trite. We live in an age where impossibly thin, wealthy white women with long hair styled in beachy waves and with no formal training in this topic are telling us how to live our "best lives".

This book feels like Rachel Hollis wrote it, right down to the repeated calling of the reader "Sis". And here's the thing: if you are a thin, moderately wealthy, white woman who is not sure what direction to take your life because it has slipped into the mundane, then this might be the book for you.

I am a middle-aged, chubby, white mom, raising five kids, one of whom has cancer. There are a lot of women and moms in this world who are struggling to get by while facing mounting medical bills, housing bills, life crisis, illness, death of loved ones, mental illness, etc. We have more critical things to do than "finding our bliss".

Those factors make reading books like this a little bit hard to stomach. Right around the time the author told a story of feeling awkward at a college sorority party because she was wearing "a puffy coat" compared to the "sleek coat" all the other college girls were wearing—I realized this book was not for me.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest feedback.

I decided to request to join Jordan's book launch for Own Your Everyday and received an advanced reader digital copy without knowing anything about her or her mission. I was unsure if I would be the ideal reader, as I saw a lot of discussion regarding religion and spirituality and I felt a bit like an imposter, not having the same gusto and religious background as many other members of the group. I can't say enough to explain just how perfect Jordan's message was for me. I realized she addressed the very imposter syndrome and comparison pitfalls I was experiencing. Her words are honest and raw and she approaches real life problems with humility and grace. Her words got me out of my head and into my heart. I love her mission to uplift others and inspire others to live with less guilt and more self love and purpose. I would recommend this book to anyone, but especially women, and especially those who are about to embark on new journeys, new chapters, or those who are tired of feeling like you have to be everything for everyone or live up to a certain expectation. This book should be on every parent, wife, daughter, and graduate's must have list!

Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. I will admit that while I wanted to read this book, I waited way too long to actually read it. It seems as if there was a reason. I am In a better place to receive the message now than I was when I first got it. Jordan's basic premise is to not let your insecurities get in the way of your God ordained purpose and your everyday life. She spends a lot of time digging into insecurities and how to overcome them. She lets herself be vulnerable in a way that is helpful and not trying to garner sympathy. This is Christian book and talks about her faith but not the whole focus so even if you aren't a Christian, I think you could get a lot out of it. She helps you set goals for yourself so that your life counts for something at the end of it.

Jordan is raw, funny and inspirational. I LOVE how she brings FAITH to her readers and listeners. This book is relatable to all seasons of life. If you are finding yourself struggling to find encouragement, purpose, God; reclaiming your faith, inspiration, or just an easy read you can get sucked into... this is it! I also highly recommend Jordan's SHE podcast.

Jordan tells stories to the reader and shares her wisdom as if she was sitting curled up on your couch in your living room. The reader becomes engaged and engrossed in her personal narrative as well as in her perspective on how to get out there and live your best life- the life that is best for you, which is not always what you or those around you thought it would be. She encourages her readers to delve deep to find their passion and then to embrace it while allowing for changes and little hiccups along the way. This would make a great gift for a friend entering a new season of life, a recent high school or college graduate heading out into the world of adulting and for anyone looking for more.

**I received an advanced copy of the book from the publisher.

I think Dooley does a great job here by speaking honestly of her experience in self-confidence and shares helpful truths to help build that confidence yourself. I really enjoyed her voice in this book and it was very readable. If you are pretty well-read within the "Christian Women's Self-Help" sphere then not much of this material would probably be revolutionary to you; but if you are a fan of Dooley's and her message then I think you would still find this quite enjoyable. I would grab this for a weekend girl's trip or for a day at the beach.

I really love Jordan Dooley's work and how she's bringing a Christ-centered space to Instagram. This book is full of great tips to help you live out your God-given purpose. Jordan writes like a big sister and speaks with so much authority. I'm excited to press this book into the hands of everyone I know!

I loved the infectious positivity of the author that simply permeates throughout this book. She's young, however, what she says can be applied to people at any stage of life.
Do you struggle with doubt?
What about self worth?
Are you using the time that God has given you in the best way? In other words, is it time squandered or time used positively?
Are you treating others as you should?
Dooley is an excellent writer who shares approaches that make the above a part of your life.
I received an Advance Review Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is a fantastic read. The author has a way of making you feel right at home. Almost like your sitting at the table with her drinking coffee. You want to hear more. Intentional purposeful living. She gives you advice to help you achieve your goals. Advice for women in all walks of life. She's a very sincere person. Sharing her story and is very honest about her life. She's fun, outgoing, and you will walk away a changed person after reading this book. I listen to her podcast and follow her on her blog. You won't regret reading this wonderful book.

Thank you to publisher and NetGalley for eARK

If you’ve read books by Rachel Hollis or Cara Alwill Leyba, you’ll enjoy this book. However I feel like this book is more relatable and kept it real throughout each chapter. With ‘self help’ books it’s hard to find something totally unique. This is it!

I struggle with this genre. I typically find that all books within this category tend to say the same thing and there is never an "aha" moment or revelation. I have heard about Jordan and followed her social media accounts, for the past few years. I was really hoping there would be something new and refreshing here. However, I found it says the same things, cover the same concepts, and discuss the same ideas that any other book marketed toward finding your confidence and accepting yourself would. If you're interested, check it out! You never know what will strike a cord with your heart. But, if you're on the fence about it, skip it.

This was such a good book that really showcased the authors personal story and things that she has learned. It was an uplifting book that really allowed the reader to glean wisdom from the authors perspective. This book had a lot of great take aways and useful information for pursuing personal goals and passions. As a small business owner and educator I was able to learn a lot from this book.

Excellant book, probably aimed at 20-30s age group but anyone could and can benefit from it. Jordan is open and honest about many things she faced and how she coped. Its let you see her walk with God and how that impacts her everday life. It is an easy read but with many learning points..

Def worth reading.
