I was drawn to this book because of the title. I mean who wouldn't? The characters were great and well developed. It was a beautiful story that made me smile, mad, and feel good many times. There were some plot issues in my opinion, too many things going on at once, but otherwise a beautiful story. I would recommend this to anyone and have purchased it for my shelves.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this novel.

This was unique and kind of liked the quirkiness but lost interest by the mid-point. Overall, a three star read.

I am not leaving a review due to the fact that this book did not interest me enough to finish the story.

A little predictable but lovely all the way. You could say this book has something from Beauty and the Beast but the parallels are not many and don't stay on the page for long. I'm really happy to have read this story.

Sofie is a bitch but this is not more than a mask that she puts on to face the world around her. When something happens and her way of looking at life changes, there is Fletcher. He's a fantastic guy and I loved him dearly during the whole book. Sofie was a little harder to love at the beginning but I got there in time.

I would recommend you get a box of tissues and have it close by just in case. I sure needed them by the end of this story. It was heart-warming and so beautiful. I don't want to delve into more because of spoilers.

Ok, I'm lying, I don't want to talk and talk about how much this book touched me inside my chest and wrapped around my heart. I would absolutely recommend this story to so many people that I can't even begin to say to whom.

A two and half star read.
This was an Ok-Ok read for me. I like the story but there is too much happening, too many plot lines for it to have an impact.
The main issue for me is the overly perfect Hero. He goes through no changes through out the book. Has barely any negative traits and the ones that are there are not explored. Making him 2 dimensional.
He manipulates and Blackmails the MC but that's brushed off because he's got a mean wife and he is helping the MC and her mother reunite, so it's completely fine. (it's not!). Hence the 2.5 Stars.

I read this book and tried hard to visualise and like the characters but I struggled. I felt that the storyline was unrealistic and difficult to relate to. I disliked the continuous references to the story books inspired by the main character and found it even more difficult to believe that these books inspired so many of the other characters in the book.

Loved it! I really enjoyed this story. The characters were well written and the plot flowed nicely. It was interesting to see how Sofie changed and adapted to her "new" reality. I found Sofie to be the most real of characters I have read in a while - warts and all. I received a copy from NetGalley and the publisher and this is my honest opinion.

Enjoyed this, it was an interesting story and I did like the characters. The title is somewhat aggressive an off-putting, I'm not sure why it was chosen

This book was an ok read. Typical woman scorned by her childhood and has become a great bullying git. OK story line. Could have used a bit more depth.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own!!!!
BIG FAT THANKS to the author for providing a copy of this book via Netgalley, and thanks to BooksGoSocial for this copy, thanks to author!!!
Stong solid 4 stars. It was almost great till the end, 10% last ones were a bit longish.
First of all, its a story with a great message, messages.
There is one good hero, I mean “good people” hero... Amazing father, the best in his professional field (nurse), awesome friend, partner.... and so much more.
Strong heroine. I mean strong personality, she has built herself with nobody’s help. From bullied shy child and teen, she grew up in amazing strong confident woman. She accepted herself. She was a mean b*tch to many people?? I can live with that. She was good friend, fun “step-mother”, patient with kids, although she didnt have any experience with them. But i’m glad finally she had her HEA! She was too lonely in her kingdom.
Amazing second characters. Interesting plot. Good writing style.
I dont put any lines or words from books on my reviews usually... But this book has so many good lines worth put on. I’m not good with words, this highlights speaks for itself.

"Tell her time is running out. And regret makes a concrete pillow."

"Nobody has to help, Dad. We simply choose to do it. Right?"

"She looked a fright, but that had never really bothered her in the past. She decided a long, long time ago it wasn't her duty to be pretty. If someone couldn't handle the ugly, that was their tough luck".

“Secretly, Fletcher admired her. She was unbreakable. Unstoppable. Invincible. She had created worlds around her with nothing but her steely grit, from this set to her palace in Beverly Hills”.

This book about mothers and daughters was indeed something else! Was it a good something else, or just cruel? A mother who used the fact that her daughter was fat and turned this fact into a series of books called "Pudgie" that chronicled her daughter's failures and whose books become popular worldwide. A daughter who turned into the bitch of the century, seeking revenge against her mother. A male nurse who visited said mother in a nursing home, who had Alzheimer's and only wanted to see her daughter. Said nurse and his daughter would visit the home and read books to his patients. And then there was Pudgie herself, who became a Hollywood success, but lived a solitary life. Oh there are many adjectives to describe this story....nasty, mean, revenge, bitchy. But there was much, much more to this novel. A choice Sofia/Pudgie has to make before it's too late, a choice to put an end to her hard interior and exterior. This book indeed was something else!!!

I received this ARC from Netgalley and BooksGoSocial in exchange for an honest review. Highly recommended.

Sofie Vincent, Queen Britches, showrunner and writer of Vindication, the hottest show on television. Everyone is terrified of her.
Fletcher Sullivan is a nurse in a hospice and a divorced single dad of Ava (12) When Rose a new patient comes into the hospice, who has dementia, she calls Ava "Pudgie." When Fletcher mentions it to Rose's nurse, she tells him that Rose is the author of a famous series of books about a girl named Pudgie. Fletcher decides to find Pudgie--who he discovers is her daughter."Sofie"
What a brilliant book, with strong characters, the story has it's ups and downs with emotions
I really enjoyed it. A good 5 stars well deserved. Thank you, NetGalley for the opportunity.

Sophie Vincent has worked hard all her life to get over the hurtles of her childhood. She wasn't abused, or neglected. Some may even say she was loved too much. After years of being the fodder for her mother's children's stories, Sophie jumped ship and never looked back. She's mean. She's feisty. She's on top of her game with apologies to no one.

But wait...

Fletcher Sullivan is a hard-working hospice nurse with a money grubbing ex-wife and a daughter he loves to the moon and back. Although he's struggling financially, and can't afford to lose his job or his sanity - he gets sucked into Sophie's world when he tries to bring Sophie and her mother back together. Of course, Sophie promptly gets him fired, then makes an about-face by hiring him at a hefty salary to work at her production company. She has everything tangible that she needs, but does Fletcher know the secret to what she really craves?

This was a lovely book, with multiple love stories entangled together that reach a sweet if not predictable conclusion. This is a book to read when your heart needs soul food.

You immediately want to hate Sophie but you can't blame her for the way she is. She has worked hard to get to where she is. She is a ball - breaker. She is hiding from her past for reasons only she knows why. She is running from her past yet she really has no reason to. It is only in her mind.
Then she met Fletcher and her whole life turned upside down. He ended up bringing out Pudgie. This was one girl who she never wanted to hear about again. This meant she would have to face her mom and that would be a difficult thing to do because her mom was lost in her own mind.
There are parts of this book that are just silly but for the most part this book is absolutely fantastic. I would recommend it to everyone I know. You will not be disappointed.

Not my typical genre but I loved every magical word of this book. Ginger Voight is a wordsmith and her characterizations of both the lovable, do-good Fletcher Sullivan and the prickly, feisty, unapologetically size 14, Sofie Vincent are phenomenal.

Sofie is a tough as nails, take no prisoners, show runner and writer for the wildly successful drama, Vindication. She didn't get where she by taking anyone's guff and she isn't about to start now. Fletcher is a self-sacrificing hospice nurse with a young daughter. Sounds like a match made in heaven, no?

Sofie's mother, Rose, was the renowned author of the "Pudgie" series of books. Books that, from Sofie's perspective, catalogue her most vulnerable and embarrassing childhood moments. As a result, her relationship with her mother is irreparably fractured.

Or is it? Because a certain hospice nurse shows up one day and unlike everyone else in Sofie's life, he isn't going to put up with a minute of her nonsense.

Thank you to Ginger Voight, BooksGoSocial and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have never read a novel written by this author before but I am so glad I read this one. I loved it, although it took me on a journey. The main character Sophie was hard because she had to be. There were many moments my heart hurt for all she had been through, I adored Fletcher and how he was unafraid to confront Sophie and reveal all the layers of her protective shield. I loved the dialogue. This novel had me rooting for the characters. This novel had me crying and I felt the characters pain. I am so glad I read this novel, and I know I want to see what this author writes next.

This is one of those unapologetic books that markets for women. I'd dare say it would be shelved as chick-lit, but I loathe that phrase and dislike writing off a genre as 'for women'.
However! This book is for women, and for men, and for those who are neither, or both, that enjoy a fierce and fragile heroine that damn well gets the job done, and who has walls that are a mile thick, and freaks out when cracks appear in those perfectly maintained walls.
Ginger Voight writes characters that are so relatable. I saw myself in Sophie, although I'd raise an eyebrow at a size 14 being considered fat. It teeters on the edge of the plus size but sort of falls into the trap of being fat-but-not-really, the swimsuit models that are "plus size" but kinda look like slightly stretched regular models. I'd argue if you're going to make a character fat, then do it. Fat doesn't mean unloveable, as she proves in this book, and I'd argue people that are fatter deserve the same treatment.
It's a sweet and moving story of a woman who has to confront her past, of the aging process and the ravages of dementia, and of love, of course. Who doesn't love to read about love?
Recommended for lovers of Jennifer Weiner.
