I have read all the books in this series previous to this book. I absolutely love this series! That being said, I wasn't quite as in love with this entry in the series. I am normally all about the fae characters, but Mercy felt a little... not great to me. She had quite a few TSTL moments for me and those just took me out of the story more than I have liked. Logan was great though and as the book was getting towards the end, I finally started to really enjoy the read more, I just wish the beginning had been a bit more enjoyable for me.

Loved it, Rebecca Zanetti has built a fantastic world with vampires and shifters and a overarching storyline to keep you embedded within the series. I have loved this world since talon back in book 1 and I continue to love it all these years later.

Demon's Mercy was a great addition to the Dark Protector's Series! I absolutely loved Mercy! Her drive, determination, and soft heart made for a great heroine that reader's root for! Logan....oh Logan! How he did not disappoint! He is strong-willed, protective, and possessive (in a sexy way if you know what .I mean!) The chemistry between these two was sensational and burned right off the page! This is absolutely a must-read by Rebecca Zanetti!

Rebecca continues to keep readers enthralled with her Dark Protectors and the magic of the world that she shows us can be found within ourselves. The Dark-Protectors Series has been going on a long time now, spanning over thirty years within its pages, and we have watched several of the characters grow up in it. One of the characters that we first met as a kid was Logan, whose brother was a huge part of the overall story ARC of the original story line, and now Logan has found his own woman to lead him around by the—um nose. I was really looking forward to this story after the last in the series as we have begun a new story ARC, after having gotten to enjoy several shorter spin-off series and Logan and his generation are going to be the ones that lead a new group into saving the world as we know it from being destroyed by evil. I loved seeing the older generation, especially dealing with their kids and grandkids, and knowing that those loves continue to be strong and passionate is fun, but the story truly does revolve around the way Mercy and Logan come together, first in conflicting missions then in passion and love, to bring a plot against the realm to an end. Logan has decided the time has come for him to step up and join the battle, becoming a member of the Seven, but he has a mission to find one of the Keys and has no problem keeping an eye on the sexy and sensual woman. When Mercy turns the tables on him, using her seductive skill to kidnap him and try to convince him of the dangers uniting the Seven will bring to the world, neither of them ever imagined just what their attraction would lead to. Quickly the passionate fighting and seductive arguments lead them to a connection that is stronger than even the evil trying to bring them down, and more important than even the treaties between the factions of their worlds. Mercy and Logan will do whatever it takes to protect one another and keep the world from collapsing, everything but give one another up now that they have truly found their mates. I loved seeing the passionate hybrid fall in love with the deceptively delicate and snarky-as-hell Fae, Logan and Mercy being both so filled with conviction and willing to battle for what they wanted led to some interesting arguments and even hotter sexual chemistry. Mercy was an interesting character, having been raised in a very closed and tight-knit society, she was a little bit behind on the times in some ways, but in others knew even more about the world than Logan and his comrades. She was also feisty, sensual, and sassy enough to stand up to Logan even though she was attracted to him beyond belief. Logan is the typical Neanderthal man, but despite his “me Tarzan, you Jane” moments, he is also a sweet and sensual male where his mate is concerned, even though he doesn’t want to have a mate knowing he will be in constant danger in the coming war, and could quite possibly die. That willingness to give up what he wants in order to keep Mercy from having to feel the pain of losing her mate in the future was what first showed me that he was a lot deeper than he was making himself out to be. I loved getting to see both of them expand their understanding of the world and find a way to mesh their beliefs and to bring the Fae into the fold of the realm, while at the same time preparing the world for the coming battle with the big bad. I also, of course, enjoyed the extremely intense sexual chemistry between Mercy and Logan and every time it sparked I was afraid my kindle was going to fry before I had a chance to finish the story (*giggle*). I am dying to see what comes next, see who falls in love with whom, and meet the third key, and not to be neglected is the building arc of Logan’s niece and her mysterious dream friend!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a very large series. I have read a few but not all of them. I think it may be a bit confusing if you aren't familiar with the world but I found it a good read. Mercy is far and Logan is a hybred. Mercy was amusing and I couldn't tell if she was naive or pretending. Logan is way dominating. I actually read the next book and realized.I hadn't read this one! Oops... I rate this a solid 4. There are many fans of this series that will love this book. If you are new I would shot start with this book.

Just when I thought this world was done, Ms. Zanetti adds another dimeson to it … literally. This story features Logan Kyllwood who has grown up. He is still young compared to the older generation. Still, his soul seems older based on all the fighting he's been through. He isn't as naïve as his age may indicate. He is still a young horny vampire which allows him to easily fall for a honeypot, Mercy.

This world of Vampires, Demons and Witches just got more interesting with multiple dimensions which can be entered via dreams and portals. This multi-verse interpretation is similar enough to others that it will be easy for readers to follow. It is just different enough to give it a bit of a fresh look. Bringing in the fae to this complicated world of vampires, not-vampires, demons and witches just ups the ante.

The tension between Logan and Mercy works well as the reader is privy to both points of view. By switching back and forth, it creates a more engaging experience. Because now we can see different sides to the story. If only Mercy would be able to tell it to Logan straight instead of beating around the bush with "secrets" she can't exactly reveal about the world, the story would be less frustrating. Still, without this conflict, the story would be over too quickly. Mercy's understanding of the different worlds also creates another layer to this complex world. It give the reader a glimpse into the multi-dimensional world and it opens up more questions. I can't wait to read more about it.

The story moves at a fast pace with the right amount of action. The struggle between Logan and Mercy as they end up joining forces is amusing at times and irritating. Amusing because Logan is so good at taking Mercy's insulting manner. Irritating because Mercy comes across as a know it all and she really doesn’t. She does have information that Logan needs and yet she is petty enough to pretend to be better. This did make me like Mercy a bit less. Still, the two of them together generate sparks that can not be denied.

This paranormal romance is recommended to everyone. It is a fun time and a new direction.

This is totally my mistake, but the book wasn’t what I expected at all. Overall it was a good story, just... I expected something different.

I love this series and I was happy to read Logan's story. This book isn't high in my ranking of the series though. The main conflict was ok. It was important but was more of a gateway to where things are going then enough to take up a whole novel. Honestly, it read like what should've been a novella. We were introduced to the Fairies, or Fae as they preferred to be called but we didn't learn that much about them. It was all surface stuff no details. We met some of the Cyst, and we got to see a lot of Hope and how much she is like her mother. There was also time spent on Seven, and I am very curious about where those stories are going to go. Logan was cool as usually, Mercy was cute although annoyingly naive at times. I'm not disappointed, I just wasn't impressed. However, I am excited about the next book. New enemies, new powers, and new locations will abound.

I love this series. It is one of my favorite PNR series and Zanetti is one of my favorite authors. Unfortunately this book felt like much of the same to me. I guess I am getting burnt out on the asshole-ish alpha behavior by the males in this series.

Logan Kyllwood is part demon part vampire and he is part of the ruling family in this series. He has been trained by the best and he is a fiercesome solider in his own right and he has been doing his part to protect the realm with his best friend Garrett.
When Logan was sent to protect a "key', his journey led him to Mercy O'Malley, who turns out to be a fae. That is a new species to this series and it introduces another danger to the stability of the realm. They are attracted to each other immediately, another staple of this series, and Mercy shows herself to be the ultimate match for Logan.

I didn't connect with them as a couple even though it happened very quickly. I actually enjoyed the plot and intrigue more than the romance, which is unusual for me. But I was engaged in seeing what the Kurjans were up to since they have been defeated time and time again.
This story was okay, just not one of my favorites.

What I liked: I enjoy my urban fantasy/paranormal romance with multiple supernatural races. Rather than following one species with a smaller vantage point, I enjoy an open world. Demon's Mercy has various characters trying to accomplish multiple tasks relating to the main couple. Broader conflicts create the desire to revisit the same world over multiple books. I already have plans to backtrack in this series and catch up on what I have missed.

I am fond of a forbidden love story as it adds additional tension to the pairing. Demon's Mercy does this well. Their situation, romantic and otherwise, immediately drew me in. Dodging hostile attacks while fighting their desire for one another, Logan and Mercy charmed me.

What I didn't like: not much. The mythology is such a large part of the series, it is clear right away how comprehensive it is. To a non-series enthusiast, that fact won't matter much. The narrative explains the current goings-on quite well. I never felt confused during Demon's Mercy, only upset I did not find the series sooner. That, however, is easy to remedy. In short, I definitely recommend Demon's Mercy by Rebecca Zanetti. It is a great read.

Logan was just exactly what I thought he'd be. Another awesome action packed story. Loved every moment of it. So much suspense as usual. The romance ♥ is at the right pace and of course so hot 🔥.
Every single book in this series and the Realm Enforcers is just amazing. This author weeves characters in and keeps you feeling like you are visiting with friends each time. Can't wait for Alphas Promise.

So Hot, It Will Burn Your Boots Off!

Mercy O’Malley is a fairy, but not the Tinkerbell kind. Her mission is to prevent all the multiple dimensions of the universe from being destroyed and the Fae believe that’s what the Seven are about to do.

Logan Kyllwood is a vampire-demon hybrid soldier who is going to perform a powerful magical ritual that will make the group of Seven warriors complete. The Seven’s mission is to save the universe from an invincible madman.

Mercy and Logan exist in a world where vampires, demons, witches, and shifters hide amongst humans in plain sight. But the Fae, until now, have done even better, by hiding from all of them in a separate dimension. Why come out now? The paranormals on Earth have been at war for decades and their weapons now include magical and astrophysical forces that are destabilizing other dimensions, forcing the Fae to come out of hiding.

Mercy and Logan find themselves at opposites while trying to prevent the same catastrophe. This paranormal love story is fast-paced, super exciting, meltingly sexy, perfectly humourous, and is filled with an intriguing cast that allows the reader to dream of more hot alphas and brave adorable heroines to love them! I think Demon’s Mercy was very well written and I totally loved it!

(My opinion on a NetGalley ARC.)

Demon's Mercy is the ninth book in the Dark Protectors Series. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. A paranormal romance with passion, action, and complex characters, Rebecca Zanetti has crafted a magical world with strong alpha males and mystical creatures. Mercy O’Malley, a fey, has been given the assignment to assassinate Logan, a deadly vampire, she decides to turn the tables and try to bridge a gap between her people and the vampires. Logan is quite taken with the crafty fey and it doesn't take them long to connect. Although they are fighting to protect their own people, they form a bond together and discover passion and love. But when the battle between the Feys and the Vampires turns deadly, Logan will do whatever it takes to keep Mercy by his side.

Told in multiple POV, Demon's Mercy is a magical read full of numerous twists and turns. Although this is the ninth book in the series, this is my first read of the series and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent in this world. The dynamics between Logan and Mercy are intense and the passion they share is smoking hot. In addition to the unique circumstances between them, the action is non stop and held me captive through every turn of the page.

Overall, I highly recommend Demon's Mercy to any Paranormal Romance fan. The Dark Protectors is an action-packed series with strong characters and a complex plot. I look forward to reading more of this series!

I am such a fan of Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors series. And I am just over the moon that she has come back to it. Even more, I love her Kyllwood demons. These brothers have fought so hard for their entire lives to get where they are and ensure the future of their people. Zane was awesome and now we have Logan, who is just a fantastic hero.

He is poised to undergo the ritual to become one of the Seven… guardians of bubble dimensions which hold back basically the most powerful bad guy ever. The heroine, Mercy, is one of three women who serve as “keys.” If these women are brought together, they can kill that bad guy. So, as the story begins, Logan is watching her, waiting for an opportunity to bring her in. He has no idea she is actually bait for a trap to catch him.

Mercy is Fae, a species this series has not ever really focused on. Their numbers are small and they have come up separate from the rest of the realm. They are hell-bent on preventing the seven from fully forming, because they believe it will wreak havoc on the universe. The book follows the back-and-forth between Logan and Mercy as they each try to one up each other in order to do what they think is right. Unfortunately, those ideas are in direct opposition.

I read a few reviews where people don’t like Mercy, and I understand that, because as readers we know her people are wrong and it’s difficult to empathize with choices we know are bad. But, you got a remember, she believes in what she is doing with her whole heart. And it’s not like her ideas are baseless, either. She believes she has science on her side and, really, she does her best to mitigate damage to Logan along the way.

Another thing I love about this series is how well Zanetti builds her secondary characters to enrich the stories. Specifically, I am super excited with Hope’s storyline, though I do it knowledge it is a lot like Janie’s was in the first several books of the series. I don’t care, though, I am fascinated by her Kurjan buddy and I can’t wait to see where Pax fits in. I’m also super intrigued about Sam. He has a big role to play, even though he is not part of the seven. And I definitely want more of him. I even want more of the super cranky Adaire and his human mate.

My only complaint is the spanking. This pops up in several books in the series and I am just not down with a hero spanking the heroine to teach her a lesson. It is such a tremendous turn off and I wish desperately that Zanetti would stop putting it in the books. Thankfully, it is not overly drawn out and it does not dominate the dynamic. It just gets under my skin.

Otherwise, it is a fantastic book. Great plotting, great pacing, great sexual tension. And it’s got awesome world building and fascinating characters. Would definitely recommend this series for paranormal romance fans it is good stuff

Rating: B/B+

Beyond excited to read the latest installment in Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protector series. Yes, I am a HUGE fan of Zanetti. Love, love, love her badass alpha males - bossy, unrelenting, overprotective hotness.

Logan thinks he is trailing Mercy to confirm she is, indeed, one of the prophesied keys. Unbeknownst to Logan, Mercy has been stalking him. Logan gets his ass handed to him by Mercy a couple of times during the book. Liked the introduction of the Fae, a heretofore undeveloped species.

Good inclusion of the original characters from the Realm and continued character development of the newly introduced characters.

While you know that Mercy and Logan will get their HEA, Zanetti does a fantastic job of drawing you in to Mercy's battle between her duty to the Fae and her attraction to Logan.

Great continuation of the overarching story arc across the newest installments. So many directions the stories can go. Can't wait to find out how Hope Karys-Kyllwood is at the center of the newest threat to the Realm.

Thanks to NetGalley for an opportunity to read and review this abso-freaking-lutely awesome book.

What is it about these Kyllwood males? I didn’t think I could like Logan as much as Zane, but it’s damn close.

Demon’s Mercy is the latest book in the Dark Protectors series, and it was a good addition. I was worried after not enjoying the previous book, but Logan and Mercy take you on an adventure. I liked Mercy, she was spunky, and while she had her own agenda, she meant well. Her and Logan had great chemistry, so their relationship progression felt natural. Logan was everything you could want in a demon-vampire hybrid. Sweet, sexy, a little bossy, and a whole lot of bad ass. I dare you not to love him.

We learn more about the Seven, and their place in the world. And a lot about the mystical fairies were have heard about but never met. I can’t wait to see where the story goes next!
